Ordered five different kind of angel fish. One showed up dead, another died as soon as I put in tank, and one died two days later. Two survived. A week later, my fish got the worst case of Ich. The fish came packed in barley any water. I emailed him that day stating what happened and he said to email him with pics and the kind of fish they were. I did that hour, but never saw a refund. I emailed him back, played like he never got an email. I re sent email said it was too late. The owner is a crook and very rude. Talks to you like your a piece of garbage. Not only that he sells sick fish. Plus he does not update his site you check out and he will email you back saying he doesn't have it or the quantity you ordered. Whole thing stinks. Do not order Freon this place. Sick fish. Terrible service. Stay away. You will end up with no fish.
Ordered, and delivered when promised, however a couple were pretty beat up, torn fins and what appeared to be scraped up, UPS guy was an idiot, i tracked package, meet ups at curb, as he's looking for my package, he was kicking it, untill i spotted and said something, im sure all morning box with live fish was just brutalizing by incompetent ups driver, ive lost 2 of said discus, no fault of anyone, but leaning towards the ups guys inability to care for a fragile package. And i have to comment of the packing of fish, pretty darn good, considering ups failure.
All 10 fish I received were dead, UPS delivered them one day late and it was cold so obviously they were dead, I sent pictures with toothpick going though each of them and he said that "no refund because you send me individual pictures, not one picture with all of them in it" and he called me liar, he said exactly this "Stating that you did not read that part of the guarantee, when you have checked a box stating you did read it, does not change anything and means that you either were not truthful when you checked it or you are not being truthful now. ", I should have check reviews before here, by the way, none of these reviews in his web site. You can't put your review there..

Ordered a lot of discus fish for a great price, i clicked the boxed that said SATURDAY DELIVERY. I paid an extra $16 for SATURDAY DELIVERY because i, like many others work all day monday through friday. So what happens? I come home thursday at 6pm when its 37 degrees outside with my order of fish at the front door. What do ya know? I got 7 floaters waiting for me inside. I did some research and the BBB gave them an F rating because of similar complaints and that they refused to talk to or respond or contact the BBB. Im not even going to try to get a refund because i know that will just be a disaster, i look at it as i paid over $150 to not ever do business with this company again and i urge you not too also..
This is a company owned by a man with a very low integrity level. I paid for overnight shipping and some how the fish didn't get put on the plane the day they should have. I contacted the owner when fish did not come on the UPS truck. He said "I do not have any update. They were packed with a 72 hour heat pack. If delivered tomorrow, they should be fine".
They show up the day after the expected day and we are both working till that evening the fish are ice cold and dead. I contact him again and tell him the results he tells me that we were not home when they were delivered so it is our fault the fish are dead.
I asked him to replace the fish and I would pay for overnight shipping and he tells me it is not happening because it was my fault.
We were home all day the day we were told they should have been delivered, so how is that my fault.
I purchase from this site knowing the reviews and took the risk of buying 16 assorted discus. All arrived on time and alive but one discus look very emaciated and cant barely eat. This sick fish died on its 3rd day... sad. I will give this business the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake. Again it was the risk that I took... and overall I was happy and will purchase again from somethingphishy.
I've ordered about 20 fish from here. I lost 3 but the rest are thriving and gorgeous! I would definitely order from them again!
I also bought six discus from Keith and two died the next day one dies that night the other three survived for a week and one made it what a disappointment and if Keith doesn't like your email he closes your account I only live 45 minutes from him and asked if I could pick the fish up to save shipping and he denied my request
I know juveniles don't have the same coloring as adults, but all of mine show peppering and only one I'm sure is what I ordered. Of the 5 fish I ordered two died within a week. Even though it was well packed and arrived in time these guys were not just stressed but sickly. We had to work hard to get the other 3 healthy again. Be sure to quarantine them since they are probably sick and will infect your other discus. Also the refund policy is just terrible. Impale the discus with a toothpick and send a picture, clearly showing it through the little guy. I guess it's from scammers and maybe that's where the barbaric refund pictures and the owners attitude come from. I'll buy my discus from someone I like and trust, not here anymore.
THIS GUY SELL SICK FISH WITH THE DISCUS PLAGUE OR IS CALLED THE DISCUS BLACK DISEASE. NO CURE AND WILL INFECT ALL YOUR DISCUS AND WIPE THEM OUT. I SWEAR TO YOU ON MY LIFE THIS GUY IS A CROOK.
We were shipped VERY CLEARLY extremely ill discus. Some to the point of looking "fuzzy" due to how bad off they were. The company is smart and ships in colored bags so you can't actually see the fish until you release them. When I sent an email just letting them know (asking for NOTHING-not refunds or replacements) just to maybe bag them in clear bags so you CAN SEE how bad off they are before acclimating in your own tank. They responded that "they were professionals and my "lecture" was uncessecay and our account was closed. Which is only doing me a huge favor because adding their diseased fish to our tank (because they were cleverly disguised in colored bags) cost us HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. The fish are on sale because you are getting what you pay for, disease infested, thin, sickly fish. I have pictures and videos and we received our fish less than 14 hours after they shipped. There is no way that the ICH wasn't visible when they were sent but, because they are disguised in colored shipping bags, you can't see them until you finally acclimate and release them. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO KILL OFF YOUR WHOLE TANK. Literally, flushing money down the toilet will provide the same outcome. WORST INTERNET PURCHASE EVER...
Months later and my fish are thriving! The first couple of weeks few fish were still showing signs of stress and then there were few that arrived 100% healthy! Of course I lost a couple out of my 20 assorted shipment but overall high survival rate and very satisfying outcome and quality!
Ordered the assortment of 10 discus fish 4 days ago. Sure they arrived alive, all but one are dead. DO NOT FROM THESE CROOKS. They word their policies very carefully to cover their asses and screw you out of money.
My fish arrived super quick and looked great. Didn't love the no phone number aspect but they did promptly respond back to my questions through email.
I was concerned with many of the reviews I read about something fishy, but my experience was great. My fish arrived under 24 hours, were happy, healthy, and exactly what I ordered.
My experience with this company isn't good at all, bought 10 discus and every single one of them was sick when they arrived here, is true that they have low prices but the quality is terrible, never again I'm going to buy anything from them.
Very simple advice: DONT buy from them. TRUST me PLEASE. Can i give zero star? Very rude. It is not about the fish with them. It's clearly about the money.
I ordered 9 discus from somethingphishy.com in November. The were all barely alive due to them being 62 degrees. I got them to come back but lost 3 of them a day latter. I just purchased 5 more thinking it was shipping and the 3 were just stressed. I recieved my order and was packaged well, but 4 fish were supposed to be 2 inches plus with a 3-4 inch royal purple. One of the fish I received was barley an inch, and the 4inch has eyes 2-3 times larger than they should be. The eyes are also bulging. I contacted their customer service with my issue and pictures. The owner Keith messaged me back stating there was nothing wrong. I sent more pictures with a better angle and he then told me that the fish I'm sending him pics of is fine and it's not even the correct fish I was supposed to receive. He then told me that he can choose who to sell to and he was closing my account and he would not reply again. I am still in shock that they are so prideful they cant admit to making a mistake and so cowardly they canceled my account.
Please do not make the same mistake I did in doing business with this crook.
I bought 10 discus and only one died because it was really small but I have 9 discus very beautiful and came very quick they did come stressed out but I believe it was cause of the shipping
Answer: It really depends on their health to start with. In my experience if they were all the same health I'd try for a bigger one first since the smaller ones seem to get sick first or stress the most when their is a problem. Anything smaller than 2" is also tough since the other fish (even discus) will bully them and stress them out.
