The price that was quoted was not the price I was charged also the extras are non-fundable which is not mentioned, charged for seating on a emirates flight which is free with the airline.
Thankfully it was all resolved after 2.5 hrs on the phone to the help line services/supervisor and manager.

Chose this company because it was cheaper and was billing in pounds sterling. Once I clicked to pay it flipped the currency to US dollars and charged me a flexible ticket fee of $249.46. I did not want a flexible ticket and it charged me anyway. When the ticket came through it specifically stated that it was not a flexible ticket. I tried to call to get a refund and spent $20 on an international call where I was on hold and then the line was cancelled. Unbelievably stressful experience and I feel as though I have been robbed.
I booked a flight with China Eastern, which is a full-service airline. I was told that no checked luggage is included and that I need to pay extra for it. This is unusual for a full-service airline.

I made my ticket purchase on www.kayak.co.uk, a British website where all prices are quoted in British Pounds. I have used this website for years with no problems whatsoever.
I selected an airfare denominated in British Pounds. I used a British credit card denominated in British Pounds to make my purchase. I am a British citizen.
AFTER my purchase was finalised, and only then, not during the purchase process, I received an email from Smart Fares indicating that my fare was converted into US Dollars, which by the way was converted to US Dollars at a non market exchange rate! This amount was then submitted to my British credit card, which converted the amount back into British Pounds, which attracted foreign transaction fees. Consequently, the airfare increased from the fare in British Pounds I was quoted, by a very significant amount.
I immediately called American Express in the UK, which informs that this procedure followed by SmartFares is not lawful since I had transacted my ticket on a UK website denominated in British Pounds.
They confirmed that they can either void the purchase or reverse the difference between the fare quoted in Pounds and the final amount billed after the US Dollar amount was converted to Pounds.
The conductor Smart Fares was misleading and unprofessional. They should have indicated UPFRONT that they convert fares quoted in British Pounds into US Dollars. They only do this after purchase has been finalised.

These people don't have any quality standards. I bought a ticket and wanted to be refunded the same day; they said we couldn't do that (we can only give you a partial refund just because we value you as a customer). "Are you serious?"
Any airlines and Expedia give 24 hours for a refund, so how do they say we can't do that?

Be v v careful. The advertised list price was competitive, but once I proceeded to purchase by Visa card, the amount charged was even higher than from the airline official website. Will not buy from them anymore.

The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight. When you call them back, they will try to sell you another flight at a much higher price. SCAM SCAM AVOID!
