Worst customer service, stay far away. Worst experience ever as a business owner. Takes days to get email replies, horrible just horrible. Save the aggravation and work with a local company that can help and willing to help.
As a seller, I used Shopify as my main storefront. For about 2 years everything ran smoothly. Then there were 3 transactions of a buyer that screwed me overusing a stolen credit card. Not only did I get screwed on the merchandise valued at $1200, but Shopify also withheld a balance of $2500 and any further money that I received. I had to shut down my store since Shopify held all sales money. To add insult to injury, Shopify wouldn't even let me communicate with them unless I made a fee of $10 a month to access my account. I was totally outraged and complained to them in every means possible and all I got from them was boilerplate BS responses. Finally, after making threats publically on Twitter to my 110K followers they released the money owed to me without any explanation after 9 months! Any seller that uses this POS company be warned!
Shopify did a refund for me more than 6 months ago through my shop to a customer I could not fulfill an order for. 6 months later (the store has been closed for 6 weeks permanently) they are pulling the money out of my account and fraudulently debiting my account with no notice or idea where this came from. DO NOT USE SHOPIFY IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM. These people are scammers and they will continue to charge your account. You will not be able to leave them, as they will continue to withdraw from your business accounts months after you supposedly left. Go Wordpress and Woocommerce if you know what's good for you!
Shopify.com reviews its a bad place to build a website or sell stuff. There is zero phone support only endless online chat, and endless back and forth emails. Stay way from shopify.com if your looking to build a website or sell stuff.
I ordered two products from them. One was what I ordered. However, the second one was a very cheap substitute and unusable for what I wanted. I checked my order invoice and it was correct. The invoice that accompanied the products was changed to a cheap product that I did not even know existed. It has been a week since I received them and wrote their help line to get this straightened out. From the reviews I've read, I believe I've been had. They are a rip off retailer.
I have been using it for a while, I have made really good projects on different freelancing platform and the whole thing is good.
There are certain aspects that need improvement but it's not a big deal I think.
This company sucks, I have paid for my domain name and product and can't access my store. They locked me out so I can't even erase my name. Are they only doing this to poc or just me I wouldn't recommend this "company" to a. The last picture is the only time they "attempted" to fix the situation while being sarcastic and really not completing the job I paid for‼ Very grateful for sitejabber for allowing me to post and room for my proof.
Hi, I'm the director of My Italian Living. I had a similar issue as the colleagues in the previous emails. Shopify is not doing enough to protect their customers.
You are going to lose "chargebacks" because:
- you won't receive any email from them regarding a chargeback. They will say that they sent one and you didn't find it in your mail box. If you ask for proof, they will answer that they have access to emails up to 15 days.
- As a payment gateway, they will deal with the customer's bank. They will send the information that they have on their system. We don't upload invoices and delivery notes on the system. Basically, they don't have any proof to show to the other bank.
- Once the claim has been closed, there is nothing to do. The bank's customer without proof of delivery will close the claim in favour of their customers and they will take the money directly from the payout... nothing to do to stop them! Shopify will advice to contact the customer that is not answering your calls or to speak with their bank. The banks are not able to deal with you unless is their clients to ask directly._ You will receive lots of emails from Shopify Customer Service regarding the ways that you should solve this problem. But nothing interesting or efficient. Their words are nice but the service is very poor.
- You will lose the money, that's it!

I cannot with a clear conscience host my store with Shopify anymore! All summer when cities were being burnt to the ground for no reason these cooperations were silent and actually donated and supported BLM because they were burning down their competition but now they want to silence the sitting president of the United States because they don't like him! Were they censoring Kamala Harris when she bailed out the same terrorists that burned down innocent pols shops so they could do it again no because Shopify and companies like them wanted small businesses to burn so people will have to shop online more! They are a Marxist company and they don't care about their sellers not all sellers are communists and they have now put sellers in a very awkward position where customers etc are saying they will no longer shop with me! I am now moving to bigcommerce not to say they are any better but Shopify have shown their true colours they aren't a company they are a cult!
Where did they get their info from to shut down the president's shops from CNN? They are using CNN to make decisions lol and anyway who are they to decide what the president can and can't say!
This is the most insecure site. All your information will be disseminated to the masses including your credit card info and personal address. Do not participate in shopify.
I purchased a Halloween item on 30th September for delivery to Ireland. 20 days later the parcel is still in China. I contacted them 3 times in the last two weeks inquiring on the parcel and got radio silence back. Not a peep from them. They'll take your money pretty quickly but don't expect anything in return from them. I wouldn't use this website again. Ever.
The past few weeks, the site or server has been hit or miss. It's down so often that I can't rely on it. As my ecommerce platform, I need it to be up and running so I can conduct business, ship orders, take orders... you know, the basic necessities. I can't count on it. Right now I'm writing this review instead of printing labels and shipping orders (which I VERY much need to be doing instead.)
Oh, and if you need help? Forget it. You have to be able to log in to your account or you can only access the help search. Then they have all these pictures of Shopify staff with headsets and smiling faces, but guess what! There's no phone number, You can't call anyone. The only thing you can do is log in and then request a call back. But what are you supposed to do if the issue you're having is logging in?! That was my problem last week. The 2 step authentication was sending my phone a code several hours after I requested it to log in, when I finally got the code and used it, it said that the code was too old and I needed to enter it within 5 minutes. So I need a time machine? With no way to contact Shopify support for my business, I went to their Facebook page and finally got a response there. 4 hours later, I was finally able to log in and use the service I have been paying for over 5 years. I tried to let them know how frustrating it is that I couldn't get help unless I logged in, but the problem was logging in... they didn't care. They didn't offer a solution. Not even an empty promise to "look into it." Just a response of "glad we fixed the problem."
Well, they didn't. Now I'm unable to log in to Shopify because their server is down. This keeps happening. I don't want to have to switch platforms. It's a lot of work, but they are starting to make my decision for me. I can't conduct business if I can't access my virtual store. Come on, Shopify! Get it together!

This can help you show the world what you sell in easy steps. It has got super easy-to-use interface and settings. If you however not willing to spend to keep your products up just stay away!
Shopify is an online platform that assists companies to bring their products to unsuspecting consumers. Twice I have been defrauded by online companies out of China ie Gifthershoes and Philipspulseoximters who have sent inferior or non functioning items and when contacted for reimbursement will offer 20% percent back on the original price if you agree to keep the item. What a deal! You get to keep something that doesn't work as well as essentially not receive your money back. When you contact Shopify to complain they will inform you that they take consumer fraud " very seriously " but due to privacy issues will be unable to share with you the results of their fraud investigation. This is code for we have no intention of helping you rectify this situation and you are on your own. They clearly do not vet the companies they facilitate and when there are problems state that they are not responsible for anything that happens under their platform. I would encourage consumers to contact the FTC and other federal organizations to report consumer fraud. If it were possible to rate Shopify with zero stars I would do so.
I have created multiple stores for people as well as my own shop and I have had no problems. They have been updating the company for all the years Ive been present. I seen some bad reviews saying they "bought bad stuff from shopify"? I think they mean they discovered a bad store owner that uses shopify for their web hosting services. Shopify is not in charge of sales or sending any of your items. But for anyone looking to sell products this is a great start
If I could go back and not use shopify I would never touch their website.

I needed a website for my small cafe and saw all the advertising that shopify.com was doing so thought they must be good, oh how I was wrong. When I selected a template and made text and image changes to it would never save, the website was very slow at loading and would not load properly on mobile phones that we were testing on.
The support you review from shopify is terrible, they simple do not care and tell you to watch a youtube video to fix the problem.
We have since cancelled our website with them but they continue to take money out of our credit card without our authorization.
I hope this review of shopify helps other users not to use them and go elsewhere.
I ordered a couple of things from this site only to receive 2 small packets of junk, (see pic) Pay Pal would not help because the seller would only refund me if I sent what I got back. Of course, this comes from China and the cost to ship and track is very high. These sellers have figured this out, it's an easy way for them to keep your cash! Never Again...
Just posting up my shopify review on how bad my whole experience was using them.
From all of the advertising I have been seeing I thought that they must of been a good business, sadly I was wrong and it has been a nightmare.
I built a website using a shopify template which I found very restrictive, not as easy as they make it out to be. The system is very old and hard to use and making simple updates such as changing content or images proved a major issues at time.
When I sent through an email for support I did not hear anything, waiting 5 days and had to send another email, ion the mean time my business was suffering due to an unprofessional website online.
It is also very annoying that you could not just pick up the phone and call them, needless to say I waited 14 days with no response so decided to cancel my shopify account.
I noticed after cancelling my shopify account they were still charging me so I had to cancel my credit card so they could not take any further money out.
Be aware and DO NOT USE SHOPIFY
The charges are so high but the effectiveness is none. Perhaps it may only be effective in certain market. I find this site rather not useful.
Answer: Shopify is not a scam. Some sellers that use the platform could potentially be scammers.
Answer: Google ads are integrated with shopify so it's pretty simple. You can list and sync products on eBay directly from your shopify store. However you also need an eBay account which is separate.
