Ordered a gift for grandsons. Product was listed "In stock / ships with-in 2-days". Two weeks later, still no gift or shipping information. Called four times with ONE HOUR WAIT TIMES, promised it would ship, has shipped, don't know why is has not shipped, etc. I was lied to continuously. Make other gift plans, as this company cannot meet your orders, but certainly can TAKE YOUR MONEY!
I ordered several items from Sharper Image. The first one offered a Cash Back. They sent it by email after I asked twice for it. The second item I ordered, they also offered a larger Cash Back. I have yet to receive that. I have asked for that cash back and told them I would redeem both the cash back offers on the next item I ordered, but I have yet to receive the cash back amount on the second item ordered. I will not order anything else until I receive it. Fraudulent advertising. Both items totaled Approximately $175.
I ordered a vertical bicycle stand for a friend as a gift from sharper image. I didn't know that they offered such items, and I haven't thought about sharper image in years because the store that they had in downtown Fort Lauderdale closed a very long time ago. Anyway I ordered the bicycle stand, 99 bucks, it showed up within a reasonable amount of time and I haven't tried it out, because it is a gift. It came with a $25 gift card. I saw some other things there that I liked and I ordered three more items. Each item came with the $25 gift card, and each item offered a 20% cashback. So now I have four $25 gift cards, and four cash back awards, totaling over $150. Both today and yesterday I attempted to order a man's wallet only to find out I can only use one of these gift cards or cash back amounts that I received per purchase and the wallet cost $70. I was not very happy about this and asked to be transferred to someone with authority and capable of making a decision in customer service, not some moron reading a script! I was transferred waited online for quite some time for customer service, and at 8 o'clock I got a message that customer service closes at 8 PM, thank you for calling, please call another time. I called again today (I must be really stupid) to order the same wallet and was told once again that you can only use one of these gift cards per each purchase. This is completely unsatisfactory, and I am very close to considering sending all of this $#*! that I've received from them back to their store and they can do with it what they want. Be very careful if ordering from these people, they are dishonest, do not disclose that only one source off credit can be used per purchase until u have already called to order. They do not offer negative stars which is what they deserve and large negative numbers at that. I have read many of the reviews on this site and completely agree. This company is a scam, perhaps they are working with either the Russians and / or the Chinese! Thinking of all this it is easy to see why their retail stores have closed! If you are foolish enough to buy from these people use American Express, the customer is always right, or PayPal. You have been warned!
I recently ordered MLB Coasters for $49.99 + gift card. Didn't get the gift card got future credit.
YOU ORDER AN ITEM. THEY SEND YOU A GIFT CARD AND A MONEY BACK AMOUNT FOR YOUR NEXT ORDER. WHEN YOU ORDER THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT THE "GIFT CARD" WHEN YOU TRY TO GET THE MONEY BACK THEY OFFER YOU. SUCH A RIP OFF. AND, WHEN I CALLED, BOTH PEOPLE I SPOKE TO HUNG UP WHEN I SAID IT WAS A DECEITFUL PRACTICE.
So my husband ordered the wrong thing on accident so he promptly called to get it corrected. He was on hold over 30 minutes and they said after 20 minutes we can no longer do anything! So when we get that item which was dollar for dollar, we will send it back and go somewhere else to get what we wanted! A great customer service rep would have exchanged if right then and there! Pretty sad!
Really poor customer service. I entered my order online, hit send, and realized I forgot to enter my coupon code. Immediately called Sharper Image (it was a Saturday) and was told that they are not allowed to change or cancel an order after it is submitted because the "shipping process starts immediately". I emailed customer service after hearing this disappointing news. That was four days ago and I haven't heard anything. I will not be shopping Sharper Image anymore. - Amy P
The first time I ordered from them, they charged me twice so I gave them the benefit of the doubt because maybe they made a mistake, but when I ordered the second time and I checked my account I saw that they charged me again twice. I called and told them they charged me twice the lady that I spoke with said I see that they did. They refunded my account. I will think twice before I order from them again.
Worse service in my 71 years! They sent my purchased and paid for item to the wrong address in another town. Now have called them 3 times, talked with a supervisor... all promise prompt resolution. The item was delivered to the wrong address 4 days ago... absolutely nothing done to get the product to me. Shameful promises that never materialize. Go somewhere else... there are lots of options with much better service. I wish zero stars was an option!
I bought something and received a $25.00 gift card a week later tried to use it and says invalid and when you try to contact them no one can help. Then try to contact them. Good luck with that. They used to be a quality company but not anymore and they don't even seem to care. Can you say out off business soon.
After spending time researching a Sharper Image product, I wrote the customer service with a few additional questions. It wasn't a cheap product so I wanted to make sure. I wasn't too worried about the cost if my questions were answered but, if a company can't do that up front, NOT going to spend my money there! So sad that customer service fallen to the side!
I orders about 300 dollars worth of products from sharper image. I ended up placing the order but didnt want one of the items i picked. My fault. Within 15 minutes i called sharper image trying to switch the product to something else. I was told they would have to refund the whole order and I would have to re-order it. I sent several emails asking for an email confirmation back that i would receive a total refund back on my credit card. So for days i kept getting shipping updates even though the package was rerouted back to the distribution center. I then received an 18 dollar refund for god knows what, and i received a gift card to make my purchase. I filled a charge back with my credit card company because i dont have the time to fight with them back and forth to get my money back when the return policy states that with 60 days you will get your money back in original form. PLEASE AVOID USING SHARPER IMAGE AT ALL COSTS
Several attempts to contact Sharper Image via the phone and website fell short. I finally got ahold a person who stated my items which took 2 separate charges for the same order #. I received partial refund for the lower amount, and now being informed that I get only partial refund, Being charged $64.79 restocking fee for item that cost $30.79.
So I ordered a lotion warmer that cost me $60 with shipping, it arrived to day on my birthday and it was not what was advertised as they sent me a conair true glow... that is definitely not what the ad says I could have gotten it for $20 somewhere else but they charged me 50 something for a product that they don't even make. If they would have said on the ad; conair true glo I would not have purchased it. So thanks Sharper Image for ruining my birthday!
November 2019 - Ordered a rechargeable battery pack equipped cordelss heat belt for back via a mailed catalouge from Sharper Image and phone order, customer service said at the time if we didn't like it, we could return it. ( It was a lot of money for this type of device. We were skeptical as to the quality and function. Upon arrival it would not fully charge, hardly even heated up... 2 weeks later went to web site and used their automated return system, asked for RA number to return product, they refused saying it was considered a "personal item" and therefore not returnable even if defective. Then we made a phone call to them.
Explained that operator that the woman who took the original order said at that time "it was returnable"... AND that their own web site for item does not describe it as being a "personal item" either... We got no where.
Called the credit card company for this charge asking for a charge back to Sharper Image for reasons stated.
They were not abiding by their own return policy and product was clearly defective. LL Bean credit card co said don't worry, they will take the charge off... They took a report over the phone... 4 months later... Another followup letter from LL Bean saying since item was not returned they could not take the charge off... WE WERE REFUSED THE RETURN AUTH NUMBER! GMAB! Never again, LL BEAN and Sharper Image can BOTH POUND SAND!
I put an item to see how much it would cost me! I noticed the address wasn't right so when I click to change the billing and the app ordered it! Within 10 minutes after figuring out how to cancel the order I canceled it! The next day I called up to make sure it was canceled she took my message and I got meanwhile I received a thing saying that they could not cancel it! Two days later they shipped it it cost me $17 to have it shipped back because my dad opened it by accident! They shipped it back I had to call and ask for a refund they finally sent me an email saying I had $93 credit! I wanted my money back! Then after being on the phone and waiting again she said no problem! A week later now I have notified that they gave me an $85 credit instead of the full amount! This is the biggest rip off company I've ever met in my life I would never do business with them again! I don't fill out these reviews when I've been burned but this I felt I really needed to!
Great catalog to get your interest, after that it goes to H___. Free shipping, except on your return and you want your money back, then they charge for return shipping (Have they ever heard of Amazon, who's kicking their b___.). Next one of their SCAMS earned credit and a gift card, but as previously reported by Carl M, they cant be used together, but you get them at the same time, Kohl's lets you use up 4 items when ordering there. Having their e-mail promotions to be automatically sent to my junk folder.
May keep there catalog for ideas, then go to Amazon to order, sometimes for the same item, but sometimes Amazon has a better quality item and after checking, Amazon usually has better prices for similar items. A shame that this company works this way.
I arrived to work on time to have a overweight ignorant powertripped white man meet me at the door when I arrived there after driving a hour to work on time just to take my badge. The work hours are from 9am to 8pm 4 days a week and 5 hours on the weekend. I am happy to be away from this slavery shift and uncomfortable as well as micromanaged environment. Would not recommend my dog working here!
After looking on their website they appear slightly expensive, but the incentives appear to help[ with costs that might be higher than normal. What is not apparent is that the company policy is that you can only use one incentive or the other. For example, they offer free shipping over a certain amount and they give you back 20% in credit of your purchase and they included a free $25 gift card with your purchase. The insulting thing is that Sharper Image's policy is that they do not accept multiple forms of discounts although they entice you by offering cash back (credit towards next purchases), gift cards for free, and free shipping. The thing that is not obvious is that you can not combine offers together in one purchase. Such as free shipping and using cash back or free shipping and the gift card they offer you with your purchase. I have not received my shipment so I can not comment on the purchase as of yet. I can only say that I was disappointed with the shipping charges (when every other retailer are offering free shipping with discounts) and I was disappointed to with not being able to combine discounts with free shipping. I am surprised at Sharper Image charging a higher fee for products and not honoring the discounts that they offer when combined with other offers. BEWARE as you shop on their site.
I've been trying to submit a "one star" review about a bad product from Sharper Image. Repeatedly, over several days, I get an error message when I complete the review and hit "submit". Very strange "coincidence"! Do you think "4 or 5 star" reviews ever get rejected like this?
Answer: Nope. It was sold and relaunched in 2010. The current owner is Camelot Venture Group of Farmington Hills, Michigan
