Absolutely horrible experience with this trash company. I spent over $5,000 on a bunch of silver bars, and they arrived with hideous black streaks all over them. Absolutely disgusting condition — clearly nobody bothers to check the bars before shipping.
I immediately reached out, and they gave me some BS response saying it was merely cosmetic and buried somewhere in their policy that this is acceptable. They also said they would charge me a restocking fee if I wanted to return them. I was shocked by this response.
How would you feel if you spent $5,000 on silver bars only for them to arrive covered in horrible black streaks, and then when all you want to do is return them (which I fully paid for myself), you're told you won't receive a full refund?
I managed customer service for years, and I would never provide this type of service. These people told me they would charge a restocking fee. Eventually, they agreed to issue a full refund, likely because they were afraid of reviews like this.
It's been eight days now. I've emailed them multiple times asking for an ETA on my refund. I cannot afford to have $5,000 sitting on my card because they're too incompetent to issue a refund promptly. I paid $45 to overnight the bars back to them, and the least they could do is process the refund right away.
Instead, they went completely dark. After multiple emails with no response, I realized they were never going to reply and were just going to keep my money. I had to open a chargeback against these incompetent people.
Stay far, far, far away and spare yourself the trouble. Absolutely hideous experience.
I bought 100 oz from SD Bullion on 01/30/2026. They never responded to e-mails and after calling them to cancel my order they told me I have to pay~$500.00 cancelation fee - for what? You did not ship, probably don't even have the silver, but want me to pay YOU for not honoring YOUR agreement?
JM Bullion shipped within a week of placing an order with them after I placed an Order with SD Bullion. DO NOT BUY from SD BULLION!
When placing an order, it was stated on their website "Shipping within 3 days of cleared payment!" A blatant lie and now removed!
I have called and emailed these guys for the last 45 days. A total of (8) eight emails have been sent asking for someone to reach out to me from customer service. I have only received autoreplies with the promise that someone from support will reach out to me shortly. I have called countless times and remain on hold in some cases for over an hour, after which I hang up. I have been put on hold, then hyperspaced and hung up on.
I placed an order early in January to pay with a bank wire and found out that the funds from the CD I was cashing in wouldn't be available in time. I immediately called to tell them the situation and figure out an alternate form of payment. No one answered and sent an email explaining this and asked to place a smaller order. I emailed with no response. Weeks later, I was hit with an enormise cancelation fee.
I have continued to call and email with no response. Rediculous!
I placed an order for silver and the transaction did not go through. I was charged a $1,049 late fee with the threat of the fee going up by 50% if not paid after 30 days. Well, there is absolutely no way to pay the late fee which i feel is unethical because the order never wnet through, they never shipped anything and anyways they make it nearly impossible to pay the late fee. There's no place to even see the late fee on the online account with them and no links in the emails from them. They never replied to over 4 emails I sent within a mmonths time. I called 5 times on different days and the wait time was always over ONE HOUR and this was the only way to make the payment for the late fee. TOTAL CROOKS!
I understand this time of year is very busy for all businesses, and that's a good thing... But so is good customer service and caring for your customers... Let your customers know about the extensive delays during the buyback processes... don't tell them after the transaction is completed... It cost me over $200.00 in bank fees because of your delays... SD Bullion ripped me off for $500 worth of silver dimes I ordered and never received. Steer clear- dont get burned
SD Bullion did not work well for me. My story:
TLDR:
- Don't trust them. Customer service is poor and delayed.
- If the price of your order increases after you purchase it, they may likely will cancel your order. - Use a better dealer (Monument Metals has BY FAR been the best ive worked with). Details:
- I purchased from them 2x previously in 2020.
- I recently initiated another purchase from them on Oct 14 2025 around 11 am.
- I called them on 10/14 to confirm my order and wire instructions. They confirmed the wire instructions and the order.
- I made the wire at my bank 10/14 for full amount.
- I received an email 10/15 ~5:00 am stating:
"This email is to notify you that SD Bullion order #XXXX5861 has been canceled.
Orders can be canceled for various reasons at SD Bullion. If you have questions about this order, please call us at *******732 or email us at [their email address] you, SD Bullion Customer Service - I called them 10/15 10 am to get clarification and ask what happened. I recorded the phone call (and previous phone call to submit to FTC and BBB later). They told me it was a "fraud" or "verification" issue. I told them it's legit and i've worked with other exception Bullion dealers (Monument metals, they are the best) so quickly sign a document and give them a copy of my drivers license. It was super easy.
I asked the phone operator (she was outsourced from a different country i believe) to speak to her supervisor. They told me it would be 72 hours before anyone reached out to me, and maybe longer to get my wire back!?!?!
I informed her of my formal request to remedy the verification issue and proceed with the order. And to have a supervisor call me. And if they can't fullfill the order I will:
- submit BBB claim
- file FTC complaint
- post several online reviews with this experience. But according to the operator on the phone, my customer experience and these actions dont seem to motivate them to take steps to fix the issue.
They canceled my order right after I placed it. I tried to re-place the order and was denied. They emailed me to tell me to contact customer service for any questions regarding the order. I then called customer service and they said that they could not place any orders at all with me because it was flagged as "too risky". No further explanation was given. Ridiculous.
Ordered $760 worth of silver coins. Lost in transit. Company very slow to follow up. It was obvious that UPS had lost in transit by the tracking but I had to fill out a waiver with threats from company and sign it. Still haven't received. Won't buy from again.

The staff—especially Taylor—were professional, courteous, and incredibly helpful. If you're ever considering selling, I highly recommend SD Bullion. As long as I'm able to continue purchasing precious metals, they'll have me as a customer for life.
My Experience with SD Bullion A Cautionary Tale
On June 13,2025, I placed an order for precious metals totaling $3,638 with SD Bullion. The order was confirmed in writing, full payment was made, and the shipment was initiated via FedEx.
On the scheduled delivery day, I waited in vain. According to FedEx tracking, the package had allegedly been delivered on Thursday, 6/19/25 at 11:19 AM. However, upon closer examination, it became clear that both the reported delivery time and the recipient's signature "Signed for by: M.Jesus" were falsified. After conducting my own investigation and spending several hours following up, I was eventually informed by SD Bullion that they themselves had canceled the order after it had already been shipped. Furthermore, they had instructed FedEx not to complete the delivery. The stated reason: I had purchased the coins "at too low a price." Technical, or listing issues.
This claim is factually incorrect. I paid above the market rate at the time of purchase. It appears SD Bullion later deemed the transaction insufficiently profitable and unilaterally decided to reverse it. Only after more than two weeks and numerous emails did I finally receive a refund of my payment on July 01,2025. Conclusion:
This conduct is, in my view, unprofessional, misleading, and potentially unlawful. I strongly advise against doing business with SD Bullion. The company disregards valid purchase contracts, wastes customers' time, and acts in bad faith.
I called on Thursday to sell my silver. On Friday I shipped my silver and on Tuesday I received an email indicating my payment will received in 2-3 business days. I really appreciate the transparency and efficiency!
This was our first transaction with SD Bullion and it was seamless; when I needed to call and get any questions answered or clarification on anything everyone was very friendly. I will definitely be doing business with them again!
My best friend put me onto SD Bullion because of his many years of buying from them. He claims that they are honest, have the best prices, and each order is handled perfectly. Since when did company charge consumers $50 fee for filing a chargeback? I filed claim on BBB to resolve the issue. We received a charge back for this 07/09/2019. Since you were unwilling to follow our process for a lost packagewhich would have been much faster than filing a charge back a month lateryour account has been suspended indefinitely and a balance of $50 to cover fees imposed on us because of this unnecessary charge back is due.
