The company enjoys a generally positive reputation, with customers frequently praising the high quality and variety of snacks, as well as the delightful presentation of the boxes. Many appreciate the unique cultural experience and the inclusion of artisanal products. However, concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to subscription practices and inadequate support during issues such as shipping damage or billing disputes. While the product experience is often celebrated, the lack of transparency and responsiveness in customer service leaves some customers feeling frustrated. Overall, the company has potential but must address service shortcomings to enhance customer satisfaction.

Salve, ho deciso di lasciare la mia review in italiano perché la vostra incredibile box è arrivata fin in Italia. Sono deliziose, un piccolo pezzetto di Giappone :) La box di febbraio è quella che mi è piaciuta di più.
I ordered a 3 month subscription for a birthday gift and after 14 days, it still has not been delivered. Nothing I have ordered from anywhere internationally takes this long, nor has such inaccurate and useless tracking. The tracking is through some company 17Track, and it is worthless. My box (if real) has been in and out of USPS facilities over 6 times in the past 11 days it has apparently been in the US. BUT which USPS locations? No idea. (See image of latest tracking information) The Sakuraco website FAQs section clearly states that 1. If a box is lost or does not show up, it is not THEIR fault and will not reimburse you. If they ship you a new box to replace, you have to pay shipping again. 2. If the box is lost or missing, you are responsible for calling the delivery service or USPS for help. Well, 17Track has no phone # (and is located in China) and runs on Chatbot (useless) and the tracking number that is given to you, is in no way a recognizable tracking number to USPS, so they are unhelpful as well. Cancelled my subscription but did not receive email confirmation like I did get one when I signed up for the subscription. I took screenshots to verify with my CC company if needed as others have complained about the auto renewal without notification.
Sakuraco puts together wonderful snack boxes with an interesting assortment of sweet and savory items! We especially love the different tableware items we have received! Fully recommend Sakuraco for a delightful, Japanese snacking experience!
Just got my first box And I am so excited to try everything! It was gorgeously packaged, the book that comes with it is great, the houseware this month was a cloth to wrap stuff in elegantly, and what I've tried of the snacks are delish! My only issue was that there were two items in the box that I couldn't find in the book and as I have dietary restrictions, I will have to give those to my husband to be my guinea pig. But I am so excited and can't wait to tuck into everything! I tried the lemon jelly. So good. And the mochi. Seriously fun and yummy! It's a food adventure in a box! Thanks Sakuraco
Large range of tasteful products prepared with care. Receiving the boxes each month brings a little bit of the Japanese magic and tradition to our home.
Thank you Sakuraco
I placed my order on 12/13. My packaged was marked delivered on 1/3 and after 72 hours of not seeing my package actually delivered, I contacted Sakuraco. I even spoke directly to a mailman to help me check for all the packages and he couldn't find anything from Sakuraco. Almost a week later, Sakuraco still refuses to refund me.
Got a discount for a major discount for a year long subscription box at a time when I could financially afford it.
Most of the boxes were pretty mid, maybe 3-4 out of the 8-10 items were good but that's expected of a subscription box.
A year passes and I received no prior notification/reminder when the forced renewal will happen. I'm suddenly charged at midnight. 10 minutes after I'm charged, I go to cancel the subscription and submitted a ticket to ask if there's any way to cancel the subscription or even change it from a $550 year long subscription to just one month but no matter how much I plead, they say there's a no refunds policy. I hope they take this money and donate to the Japanese charities to cover the recent disasters because otherwise I'd be pretty upset with the whole situation.
Every other subscription service I've had either remind you when they're about to take over half a grand from you or their customer service team is pretty nice about giving concessions to polite and genuine requests but having an absolutely no refunds policy feels gross for a company to have.
They offered to not send me any boxes and instead give me credit to buy items worth the boxes on their store but I didn't want to spend the money to begin with so this has been a super negative experience for me.
The first box was shipped on november the 17th, the second one was shipped on december the 19th. Today is january the 8th and none of my boxes have arrived yet! - writing from Italy.
Also, I totally didn't buy the second box on purpose. It appeared as if I was only buying one month, the next month they charged me out of the blue and that's when I realized it was actually a monthly plan.
My husband ordered a box similar to this company for our daughter and Sakuraco for me for Christmas! As things have slightly winded down we all sat down steeped some matcha with genmaicha and enjoyed reading through the booklet and sharing each snack. I have a 14yo and 10 yo and they both enjoying hanging out and tasting all the scrumptious snacks. Some came as a single packet but we also received a whole pack of individually wrapped daifuku! It was so fun drinking tea and sharing! This is a great gift for a family activity once a month! Iitadakimasu!
Oh best of all... this company included a cute made in Japan snack dish! It will be my favorite dish! Hope to collect more!
Unlike every single subscription service, Sakuraco does not send renewal emails before charging your payment method. So, if you only wanted to experience the boxes for a year and think, since you only signed up for a year that's all you'll receive, you'd be wrong! And your card will be charged out of the blue and without your permission. Deceptive business practice and overall shady.
We really enjoy getting our monthly Sakura Co box of goodies. The sweets, savory treats, tea and some item (plate, chopsticks). This month's plate was special- reminiscent of kintsugi craftwork.
Auto-Renewal plan is not visible before purchase. Once you miss the cancellation date, you are stuck for the next period. They make the cancellation as difficult as possible. I will take legal action.
Everything was just perfect and It did not disappoint one bit. Excited to see what's in store for the next box!
They gave me the wrong plate, most of the products were stale
Aside from that they did not cancel my subscription even though i directly sent them a ticket telling them to do so, they said they cancelled it but they charged me again the next month.
They also didn't remove my payment info, this company is a scam.
I ordered a 6 month subscription to Sakuraco back in April. Not realising it was an automatic renewal. So I was just resently charged again for another 6 months. And they refused to refund my money on a product that hasn't even shipped out yet.
It doesn't make sense to me that this would even be an automatic renewal. If I wanted 12 months of boxes I would have order their 12 month subscription and saved myself a few dollars.
On tho the products themself.
Their household goods are usually small and not very useful. What am I going to do with a bunch of 3" plates? ( which is the usual item.) I also wasn't attracted to the style of most of these good there was only 2/6 which I actually liked.
The savory snacks were never to my taste. Often being soy or seafood flavoured.
I only really enjoyed the mochi. They were really good and I wish I could find mochi like that around here for a more reasonable price.
The other sweet snacker ranged from good to just alright. Often being dry and/or bland.
This is my first Sakuraco box and what a treasure it is! So many fascinating treats, the box seemed bottomless! And the Tsikimi rabbit dish is a piece of art. The booklet that comes with the box has beautiful pictures and information for each one of the items, plus a wonderful story of the Moon Festival. Having celebrated it while living in Taiwan and China it was fascinating to learn about the way the Japanese people experience this time of the year and the beautiful fall moon. Thank you, Sakuraco, for bringing a piece of Japan to our home!
Seriously, I am extremely disappointed for this time round.
Received the box dented, very badly.
Sadly, those crackers inside the box has broken.
Shoddy packaging. Found a snack is not supposed in this box. Also the Usagi Marshmallow did not come in a pair! Why? (Photo as attached) pls explain. Thanks.
10/10 will buy again. Everything seems to be so well thought out. The theme was Autumn Moon Festival
They renewed my subscription despite being told directly that I did not want it to be renewed a month prior. Then offered no alternative for refund (forcing a payment of three months) despite the service not being received. Plus the boxes were often late by a month or came in batches. Scummy company with many fake reviewers on various sites. When you're more immoral than Uber, there's a problem.
You try to just buy 3 months worth, but sneakily get signed up to a rolling subscription. You don't get to opt in to it. Check your receipt carefully as the only warning you get is small text saying "Renewal Date". Really annoying and detracts from the experience.
Answer: They are a legitimate company, but they do not have a refund policy and do not notify customers of automatic renewals.
Answer: I love the creatively curated themes and items in each box, and every month comes with a pamphlet not just talking about the products, but giving information on their importance to Japanese history and culture.
Answer: I have seen some reviews of bokksu but I haven't tried their box so can't compare.
