Every time I get rewards. You take them without warning. Seriously. This is such BS and that is putting it politely. Before you would let one know if they were expiring.
Your reward system is GARBAGE.!
You really need to adjust the scales. The ones at the produce weighs differently then at the checkout. The ones at check out is usally more. Alot of us have to watch what we spend. Once I found mouthwash on sale for $1.00. There was 5 bottles above the$1.00 tag. Got to checkout and was $5 something. Told cashier who was manager at that time about the sale and he had a bagger go look. Bagger came back and told him the it was true and there was 4 more there so I do get it for that price. Manager told him that next time to let him handle it. Which to me is wrong. They need to have stockers pay attention when stocking. I have had very rude cashier's ask baggers inappropite questions in front of customers. Had one checker spill already cooked chicken out of container onto check out belt, picked it up with her hands and put it back into the container and was going to bag it. I looked at her and she asked me if I still wanted it. Told her NO not after she had her hands on it. Come on money is one of the most dirtiest things to handle. Had her replace it. She was mad at me. Shelves are hardly stocked. Safeway has gone down hill really bad and I only go there if there is an item that they only have
It's to bad cause Safeway was the only store I use to shop at. Many people quit shopping there.
The Safeway in Catonsville Maryland on Baltimore National Pike is the worst grocery store ever. It is never clean they never have the items that you need they have a high turnover for employees. The employees are eating at the registers cussing at the registers and playing at the registers.
So looking forward to a new store in RENO. Unfortunately will never go back. I waited almost 35 minutes for a sandwich. The poor employees, I feel sorry for them. So disorganized. When finally got my sandwich it was not what I Ordered because they were apparently out of all the meat and cheese. Lettuce dry and wilty. Back to Sprouts we go.
I was at Fort McMurray Safeway on June 29th at around 6pm and I saw one old lady cashier with unbuttoned uniform, as in all the way unbuttoned! She is roaming around with a clipboard. So dirty looking. She shouldn't have wear those uniform and just worked with her own shirt instead. This was just an observation and it is really so unprofessional looking for your store!
The self check out attendant (Rosa)on the other hand was so friendly and very neat looking, that should be the old lady's role model.
Feels like their site was built was amateurs as a college project. Poorly designed site and worst customer experience combined together. I ordered 3 times and ever single time i got a cancelation after 6 hours of placing the order. The item was still available in store and online yet they kept canceling after 6-8 hours. Spoke to customer support and they were as clueless as the site. And every time they canceled the order, they would deactivate my account. Customer support said they have no idea why that happened. Its just a useless service.
Everything's overpriced, produce is ridiculously overpriced they play stupid games with prices so they can track you, they stock poor neighborhoods with substandard food and damaged items, this market is pure corporate evil, oh and they have the $#*!tiest bakeries in the world! $#*! you Safeway there's nothing safe about you!
So slow this week that is USELESS.

Having safeway be the only option in my current area (2 if them are walking distance!) I am fed up with them. Their produce prices are out of control! $7.00 for tangerines!
I brought this up to a cashier who is overweight and sociopathic and his response is "everything is expensive".
They area no caucasians working there and it is clear this is another corporation that only looks for feeble minded spanish speakers and reinforces their victim mentality.
There food options are mostley junk food. I might as well just shop at 711 with their options and price range Smh
I now have to actually look out of town since its nothing but kult like employees for tech companies. Its terrible. I just want to by some fruit and veggies at a reasonable price and not supply the income towards anti--white feeble minded employees who see nothing wrong with 7 dollar tangerines.
The list you put will stay for a month even you use it or not. It's very hard to figure out which coupons are used or not. The only way you can know is to call customer service. Some of the coupons didn't come out at the register. Call them they just tell you it did with no proof or just to get rid of you. They change a newer system, may help the elderly but hasn't solve the problem.at cvs if you have a reward the minute you used it it gone with in one to two hours. The list you put as for just for you will stay for month or some of them will be gone without you used them becuse of their technical problem. They have to change to different company or the have to find some one who can fix the problem. It has been almost ten years with this kind of problem... good luck solving this.
For long long time, every time we go to safeway to buy things especially sale stuff, we have to be extremely careful because 8 out of 10 times, we grabbed the wrong products. The sale and non-sale products are all mixed together so we have to match the product code to be sure. And safeway just implements a new digital coupon, the trick is you have to add the products before hand. I am not sure why not give customers less headache and automatically give the discount as any other stores.
Got groceries delivered from the Safeway website. There's a Safeway right by me. Used it, because I had Covid.
Terrible. I didn't get 2/3 of what I ordered -- the stuff that I actually wanted -- and some items were wrong. It's also worth noting that some of the items were past expiration, and another item was soon-to-be expired. I know for a fact that they had a large stock of the items on the shelves.
I will never use their delivery again. Do not recommend.
I have been ordering from Safeway using their Online order and store pickup service since the pandemic started. My first order had 20 items, 13 of them were missing. Yes, two thirds of my order was missing. It was still charged on the receipt, I still paid for all of it, but the items were not in any of the bags. I obviously callded them to get the rest of my order. I waited for a long time, and eventually they came back with "the rest". It wasn't the rest, it was still missing multiples items. At this point I didn't even care, I just wanted to go home. Fast forward to a month later, same thing again! I make an order online containing about 20 or so items, and about a third to half of them were missing! I tried to be patient. I knew that they were struggling just as the rest of us are in this pandemic, there is no need to lash out and ruin someone's day even more. This continued on for the next ELEVEN months! Every month or two I would make an order, go to pick it up (with extra bags in my car), find out several items were missing, using my extra bags to double-up the cold items, and wait another half hour for them to bring out the rest of the items. Most days, I would just go home anyway feeling defeated and not caring about the missing items. I have finally gotten to the point that I can no longer be patient and understanding. This has continued on for nearly an entire year, I have been shorted likely hundreds of dollars worth of items. It blows me away that a company could be this sloppy! I understand maybe missing one or two items on a large order, but to continually and reliably lose a third of all orders is absolutely unacceptable! The only reason I kept coming back is because my family is immunocompromised and there aren't many other services around that offer parking lot order pickup without costing an arm and a leg. But at this point it doesn't even matter if I have to pay double at Whole Foods if I ACTUALLY get my order! I'm never shopping at Safeway again, you have permanently lost a customer.
I placed order on safeway.com 2 days in advance. On delivery date, I waited for 4 hours without any delivery, but on the order status is closed. Since I got no notice from store for cancellation of order, so I contacted Customer Service online. The CSR was trying to help, but all they can do is sent E-mail to the store to find out the reasons (of course, there was no reply from store at all).
After no reply from store, the CSR wanted me to place another order so the CSR can manually put in request for me, but the order have to be placed 4 days before the delivery date. Which I did as instructed and confirmed with the CSR that everything is set to go.
On delivery date, before the 4 hours wait, I contacted CSR to confirm the order was in process for delivery. The CSR confirmed and mentioned that a driver has been assigned for the delivery. Just to make sure everything run as planned, I requested the store phone number to confirm.
The store Home Shopping manager told me they are not fulfilling the order, they never received the CSR request etc. Very rude and careless of what she is doing to the customer.
I contacted the CSR again, then being transfer to the Supervisor, and was told there must be some operation issues. The supervisor said she will forward the issue to the operation manger and someone will contact me back.
Of course, there is no one contact me back, there is no delivery, and even no notice of none delivery.
Not a dependable grocery services for family.
Safeway bakery is very disappointing, I ordered a cake and cupcakes to match the cake with specific flavors. When I arrived the cake was the wrong color and no cupcakes made. They display such nice cakes but once ordered they are nothing like that if you get your whole order. I'm on the way to birthday party and I had no choice but to take cake. How embarrassing of a cake I did get. NEVER USE THEM, you WONT GET WHAT YOU ORDERED!
So yeah. Safeway. Being going there for years. Went to QFC and figured out a big difference. Safeway won't call up extra cashiers when it gets busy! Has anyone noticed this? Albertsons still does even though they were bought out by Safeway. My son even stated this ( he worked for another chain) and said that Safeway was notorious for this: not calling up extra checkout help. Done with ya. Oh and watch out for Chevron who says the Safeway points will save you money at the pump. The one near me on Sunset in Renton ups their prices to cover that difference! Done with you too!
This is not the first time that I have had this experience. Safeway flubs orders all the time and says they cannot get the delivery done. So, this week, I ordered 3 DAYS BEFORE XMAS. They screwed up and could not promise my order UNTIL AFTER XMAS. W are in a Pandemic, but Safeway cannot pay people overtime to get your groceries to you. So, guess who gets screwed---ME THE CONSUMER. Yes, that is right--the Safeway execs will be Eating Xmas dinner, while I think of a way to get food on the table without dying of COVID. Suck it, Safeway.
I paid for 1hour delivery from 6-7pm. At 8pm, I called asking where my delivery was and if it was still coming. Safeway said, yes it was.
At 10:20pm, I called again becuase there was still no food. Safeway was closed.
My Mom who is in a retirement has had to wait for 10 hours sometimes and then it's even delivered at 10 pm at night.
Buyer beware. Y
I was shopping this weekend on my weekly visit to Safeway, but this time I left the store feeling uneasy and disappointed. I was walking down an aisle with my boyfriend and our 10 month old son when I slipped on a large oil spill in the middle of the lane. My boyfriend and my baby managed to miss it. However, I did a half-split with my legs, drenched one of my pant legs and faux Birkenstock sandals (which I had to throw away), and dropped my phone face down in the oil. I salvaged my phone and my boyfriend had to clean it off with his jacket, and I found a nearby napkin station to wipe my foot and pants off with. I walked through the store with oil on my foot. There was an employee who witnessed the entire thing right near the deli, yet he did not say anything to me although I expressed my discontent. He didn't offer to help, not say a word. There was no "caution, wet" sign out on display at the time. He found a sign and placed it near the spill after he saw what happened yet still said it did anything. I went to the customer service station after I checked out my items, where the assistant called the general store manager. When she arrived, she asked if I was okay and said she was sorry, but she ended up giving me two expired coupons to use on my next visit. I was hurt emotionally and embarrassed as I cleaned myself off in front of the busy store and customers walking by me. Just overall the worst experience I've had in a store in my entire 24 years of life.
My disabilities make it nearly impossible for me to shop by myself, so I rely mainly on grocery delivery. The last time I had a delivery scheduled, they called me an hour into the delivery window and told me they had cancelled it due to short staffing. Not even an offer to reschedule - they said I would have to re-enter the whole order. They will not give any kind of priority to people who are disabled, so now I'm having a very difficult time even getting groceries. I try to talk to Safeway Delivery about it and they tell me to call Customer Service. I call Customer Service and they tell me to call Safeway Delivery. I talk to the store managers and they say to call the corporate office, which never answers the phone and has no way to leave a message. And they have the nerve to tell me they care. GAG
Answer: There is hardly any customer svs at this store. It sucks the staff seem really unhappy and miserable.
Answer: Safeway Groceries have been around for years. Unless you have been living under a rock
Answer: Are you referring to the online shopping website? It is a bit antiquated. But seems to get the job done.
