I must use Safelink wireless services because it is thru a state program. I do not understand the reason states spend so much taxpayers monies on such horrible companies like SL. I transferred my service from an old phone to a new phone about 12 days ago to be able to connect it to my glucose meter and the entire technical dept has been incapable to transfer my service for the last 10-12 days. I have called 19 times; the phone service works for a few hours, then it says "not registered on network." I am extremely frustrated with this company and its call centers abroad. They hire people with no technical knowledge, insolent and I feel safe speculating these telephone people sabotage the service after speaking to customers. As I write here, I have been on hold for 1hr 17min; then 2 hrs 33 min: and now for 35 min. The telephone agent gave me her ID *******, another one ID *******. The first ID refused to solve the issue, thes second transferred me. Next, I spoke to a supervisor by the name of Desidarious, all equally incompetent and inept. The last rep said he was transferring my call to a "higher" technical dept after he said he was in "corporate office" just to place me on the queue for another 45 min to speak with another genius that hung up on me again. I have a recording of the entire conversation yet there is no way to submit any feedback. Stay away from this company! Additionally, my original service was unlimited calls, unlimited text, 25GB data and 5GB hotspot. When they move the service they changed my plan to 1000 limited text and calls and reduced all the rest of the plan and they are to inept to even reinstated it.
They didn't help at all switched my application when I applied for phone they told me to use my own when I dont have one next time told me I didn't qualify through national verifier and I called them and I am. Told me they couldn't look up my enrollment ID when I was on my application
Safelink does things like turn your phone off unexpectedly then make you go purchase more minutes to keep your phone working, even though you're supposed to be on an unlimited plan. You either buy more minutes or go without your phone. Customer support can't do anything.
Safelink is a service for the disabled. Their customer service is deplorable. Barely speak functional English. Spent the last 2 days trying to activate a new phone for a handicapped individual, still no luck. 0 stars.
Since one week I call no one solve my problem each person transfer phone to other persons no one is responsible. Please don't use this phone service.
Horrible service! Spent 4 hours on the phone trying to activate it. They kept transferring me from one department to another with holding on the line for more than 30 minutes! And they did nothing! I even can't cancel my service, because I should stay on the line for another 30 minutes to do it, and I'm not sure if they can handle it..
They send you raggedy used phones and then when you request a replacement they tell you, you aren't eligible because you haven't bought a qualifying plan. On top of all this they are extremely rude!
After reading some reviews Now I'm wondering Where my phone went because I don't have it. I was supposed to get a phone a few months ago I still don't have it. I call a message and nothing happened it's like nobody cares. They keep saying thank you for your patience and I keep telling them I'm running out of patience it's been several months I don't have a phone. Now I have to call husky health To find out how to complain about these people.
Originally the safe link i had was through tracfone and they would recertify it on a yearly basis by an email or text for a full year. Although i had my service with them for 6 years and the service was supposed to be active through may of 2022, my phone was disconnected on Oct 1st, i called and were told that need to re-certify. I did that after 10 days had to call back so they connect the service and finally after 7 hours talking to so many people finally the service was on and i was assured that it'll expire Oct 2022, but Nov. 1st, they disconnected it and another 4-5 hours to get it activated, it was fine until 12/01, these people don't realize with new banking regulations most of the banks do a 2 step verifications and send a code to customer's phone number on file.and without having an active phone with the number that they have on file you are shut. Back to recertification, i called on Dec 3rd, when i noticed the phone was disconnected again and now i was told national verifier cancelled my active service and i had to start all over with the recertification application online and waiting 10 days and after calling national verifier and introducing myself, they said you were approved 2 years ago why did they told you that you need to call us? I believe this is done so people give up and cancel their services, after all there are tons of illegal aliens that have priorities over US citizens. I checked and there are companies like TELLO they give you unlimited call, text starting at $7.50 a month, if you pay $30 payments for 4 months. I have spent good 10 hours on the phone talking to these people who some i don't understand and i hear baby crying in the background or 5 times so far, i heard roosters singing. All these so called reps are all in one room in somewhere in Bermuda triangles answering these calls and transfer the phone calls to one another as it's a big company., when i got safe-link i had already over 1800 paid minutes on my phone that tracfone wiped it out as well. The customer service if it can be called customer service is weak and useless. These guys don't understand a word you are saying, so you might as well talk to a wall. And as long as plandemic continues this is going to get worse than ever.
No help for Two months. Keep calling, they tell me to do the same thing-- turn the phone off & on! Then Reboot! That's all they've been telling me & still have no phone!
I have been a SafeLink customer for about 8 out of the last 12 years and about 5 months ago (5/21) I received the temporary Extended Broadband Benefits to replace my Lifeline service. On 9-1-21 my EBB turned back into Lifeline limited minutes again for no reason. I called and had 2 service tickets generated on 10-9 and 10-10 and instead of processing the tickets, on 10-12 SafeLink just cancelled and de-enrolled my whole account. Upon calling and speaking at about 30 different lying incompetent employees at what was supposed to be up to the highest level of SafeLink, the end result is a wrongfully cancelled account that I now have to buy minutes for. Don't believe anything they say. Everything that comes out of their mouths at all levels are lies. Use QLink or Assurance but if you use SafeLink then expect the worst... that's what you'll get.
I had been using their free cell phone service since 2013, and in early 2020 the second non smartphone that they had sent me broke, so at first they claimed I wasn't eligible to get a new phone, and then they said it could just be the battery that needs to be replaced. At first they said they weren't going to even send me a battery so I had to order one and then I had to return it because after they claimed they would now send me a replacement phone of the same model, and told me I wasn't eligible for a smartphone, then they mailed me a brand new decent smartphone.
Well after having this smartphone for a year and a half, it broke and was totally dead, and I asked them if the Safelink customer service could please send me a replacement for it, and I said I don't care if it's the same model or even just a basic cell phone because it's very important to have a cell phone for emergencies, both the customer service agent and then the supervisor I asked to speak to both claimed I'm not eligible to get another phone, they are full of garbage and I said I am still eligible for the same reasons I have been for years using their service.
These people are another OFF SHORE Scam company- Stay completely away from them. Give them NO CREDIT info at all! If they ripped you off, contact your States Attorney Generals Consumer Affairs (FRAUD) Division. Most of these State Depts. You can file your Complaint right ONLINE. They eventually will have to shut 'em down. They got my money back for me!
This doesn't even deserve 1 star. Safelink is horribly terrible in every possible way there is. I got my phone today & everybody tells me when I use the phone to call them it's coming up as from a Stephanie Gnzlz. I've called tech support 3 times to have them fix it & the first 2 times they said it should be fixed but it wasn't & the 3 time they tried to walk me through it but absolutely nothing helped. It may be a free phone & service & everything but it sincerely truly is nothing but garbage. I wouldn't ever recommend this to anybody. I had an "Obama phone" a couple years ago & I received numerous calls all the time asking for somebody I'd never heard of so I let that one go & got rid of it too. I like President Obama but this free phone & service is b. S.
I am literally having a breakdown because I'm having to deal with them AGAIN. The government PAYS them to supply this service, but they're scamming us and ripping us off! Once again, have to order another phone through them, as they will NOT let me use any of my other phones. So, pay $59 for a smart phone, wait and wait for it to arrive, arrives late, and FINALLY arrives. Go to set it up... which requires a call to... dun dun DUN..."customer service". It's never going to be painless, but to be told that my phone is NOT an AT&T phone, it will NOT work, and that I did not buy it from them? SERIOUSLY? So, in making complaints elsewhere, I end up needing another SIM kit (lost the card, no idea how), and beign told customer service is wrong. No kidding. Like they're ever RIGHT? Well, now I have to wait AGAIN. So, figure I'll configure the stupid thing. OMG, THIS THING IS SLOW---DANGEROUSLY SLOW! You have an emergency? Well, gonna have to wait until it decides it's going to work, etc. So, go to read reviews, and that same exact phone is being sold elsewhere, new, for HALF WHAT SAFELINK CHARGED! They are DEFRAUDING disabled/elderly people! I will be contacting the FCC, FTC, and anyone else I can. The government is paying them for this, and they are absolutely HORRIBLE!
Switched from old Motorola to new LG smartphone. No more unlimited talk text data only 300 total! Tried to switch phone to Lifeline for free unlimited talk text data through Total Wireless. Just found out that phone is use
Less. It's now locked and fee of $128 to unlock. I'll get a new phone cheaper than that. Just a warning - this ' business' is low quality, low service, lowlives!
I called customer service and the lady I talked to was very rude and not helpful at all. She acted like she hated her job and people in general.
Buyer beware. This company fraudulently signed me up for the EBB discount and took 3 months of discount benefit that could have been used with my regular service provider. Their customer service was terrible. The majority of the time the reps could not be heard when I got someone on the phone. And the fact they signed me up for the EBB discount through them without my knowledge is deplorable.
I joined safelink for the 2nd time. First time was 2013... second time was 2019.
2019 my data would not work, then my data stop showing up each month. I went 7 months without data, then data was given to me. Then data would stop. Then out of nowhere my stops working.
I had to reapply for lifeline.
I wait a month 18 business days. Still no cellphone service. I had to call 3 times 6 transfers and a specialist to activate lifeline 450 minutes 4.5 gb. That was 7-7-21.7-14-21 data stops works(only 1 week later). I call 611 to find out I supposedly used all my data... my cellphone keeps track. I used 86mb... nowhere near 4.5gb...
Safelink is a scam... the Mexican owner makes soooo much money, that 6 million dollar fines are nothing to him.

SafeLink customer support representatives are always somebody overseas and they must get paid a percentage for not giving you what you originally paid for when you have to add service because we've been ripped off many times and now that we've been ripped off again they're trying to flag our account and tell us that we are under suspicion of trying to scam them so now they're trying to turn it back on us and we have all the bank statements and deductions and their contract and yet they're trying to continually bash us and hang up on us all the time they are the rudest and most unorganized scam carrier on the market
Answer: SCAM! After giving them ALL my personal info I fond out they are over seas! And I never got any kind of service from them! Don't do it!

Answer: If I remember right I had my phone for 3 months when I got a letter in the mail saying I qualified for my phone unlocked. I think I had to go through my account on line to unlock it. Check there and see if you see anything pertaining to that. If not maybe call troubleshooting and ask them. Word of WARNING if you are getting a free phone like I was they shut you off anytime and claim you don't qualify. Not sure maybe they get more government money for every phone they send out. I was shut off and reapplied and had a new phone and new number not even a month and was shut off again. No rhyme or reason and claimed they couldn't find my account. Good Luck
Answer: Honestly? Because they don't know what they are doing. I've been on the phone with them for 22 1/2 hrs and I have to call back tomorrow and try again because it's late and I tired. And I spoke to supervisors. Pathetic.
