I have been going through this for 3 or 4 weeks now. My phone has no data connection. They make you call in, they make you verify and go through a tech person that goes through the same steps over and over. Then they claim they'll transfer you to the next level. I tell them that if you transfer me to the next level it's going to disconnect. They claim it won't. They transfer me to the next level and disconnects. I've talked to 18 different tech operators at their company. I'm going round and round in circles. I have no data connection. I paid for this phone. They made us all pay for phones claiming they were doing a network upgrade. The phone doesn't work. Why do I have to keep a product that I paid for that doesn't work? Where am I to go from here; what do I do to get my phone to work that I paid for from them?
My elderly deaf mother had to get a new 4G phone they sent it and it does not work at all. We have contacted them for 2 weeks and spent numerous hours doing the same things over and over and have been disconnected at least 7 times. Whenever we called back had to repeat all the steps again and again. The phone is defective and they just absolutely do not want to help you through to the end they just disconnect EVERY single time. What a waste of government assistance. I will pay a phone company for my deaf mother so she can text. Beware of safelink! They wanted a credit card number for no reason. SMH
If I could i would give it a 0 stars. All of these phone companies have these representatives somewhere else that really does not speak and understand our language very well, so they end up messing everything up. I tried several times to get my service activated and switched after speaking with three different reps that was finally done but my number port in failed because it was the weekend and system needed to update. I call back on Monday and was on the phone from 2:33pm til they closed at ten. I had to keep calling and calling to keep getting switched to a department where the automated system hangs up on me. Finally at 8:32pm someone finally gets on the line and assures me they can help me port my old number in. She keeps saying that she is disconnecting old service. I keep telling her that I do not want my serivces disconnected that I am transporting in not out. She assures me that she understands and is fixing it. My phones goes off in the middle of this phone call. This lady has disconnected my services. I tried the chat who was unable to help me at all. They told me to call back in the morning to speak with the enrollment department because I am not enrolled. This leaves me with no phone and can't work the next day because I need my phone to work. I do deliveries in the mornings so I'm stuck making no extra cash for this morning because I have to deal with not having a phone and they are probably going to tell me 7 to 10 business days before it will be working again. I'm sorry but if a company is going to do business with Americans they should have a call center in America where the reps can understand what is being said. This is foolishness that can be avoided if they understood our language Just saying
Worst customer service EVER! 3 DAYS 9 HOURS TOTAL WASTED. Needed to be transfered to complete request which never got taken care of because they never could get me transfered without hanging up in me.
Free isn't worth my sanity. Going back to us cellular
I received a phone and they could not activate it because.
Of there own fault by given them the same information I have always given then to transfer my phone number they could not identify me and refused to allow me to access my own Safelink account. This was hours where no one was willing or able to help. They kept passing me from Safelink to Tracfone or simply hanging up. So now I did not get my original phone I purchased, no refund, stuck with phone the is not phone I purchased, can't' activate my phone, and they stole my minutes.
Sarcastic Non-English speaking ignorant argumentative idiots! Save yourself FRUSTRATION and headaches! NO MATTER how cheap the service go elsewhere! The management is just as bad. TOTAL waste of time, they just can't get things right

Don't know who owns this but your employers are garbage and no help at all. How are you guys in business?!? Do owners or GMs ever call and check on these non speaking English people. This is straight bull$#*!
I have been dealing with this company since the beginning of the year I have qualified for their free phone program at the time I was filling the application I even wrote on the application that I needed a Verizon phone to be compatible with my TDS modem or else I will not be able to use the phone at my house they totally reassured me that no worries that I would be getting the phone they sent me the phone after many arguments with them that it must be a Verizon totally did not get a Verizon phone now I'm stuck with a phone that is not compatible with my modem they will not replace it even though the phone says that I can return the phone in 90 days now they're saying I cannot that it is incompatible for the return policy when it says right on the box there's a return 90 day policy do not use these people they are a bunch of rip offs so right now they're getting government tax dollars on my phone that I cannot use this is ridiculous
I've been trying to get my phone activated for over 2 months now just horrible and you get hung up on when being transferred would not recommend wish I could do under 1 star I would
I transferred my number from a different company to come here and transferred my number I got the free life line service with the free phone. Kept having trouble with it no service. They kept giving me the run around. Tried to transfer my number to another company and they will not let it go. Saying they have to text me a transfer number but my phone can't get texts call out or income calls now they say it's my problem they can't do anything about. And I keep getting transferred all over the place. With the run around. And will not get a supervisor. Very bad customer service. They don't know what they are doing.
I would never recommend Safelink to anyone in the beginning I was crazy about. I was very disappointed in their customer service last year I told them I need to replace the phone I had bad reception if you lose the phone you have to pay $25.00 plus they do not have a contract with California Lifeline services after being transferred 6 times I am so happy I went back to Assurance Wireless
No help, different info, rude cs agents. Hung up on. Silence during call. Volume dim then nothing. The worst possible example of customer service. They will hang up on you if you express any concern or show any emotion due to the fact you ve been trying to fix your issue for days on end, THey just dont care. They make me want to cry trying to get my phone activated. Intense inccompetenence. The worst. I hate them forever. $#*! calls in India! AMerican cs agents would have fixed my issue the first time. But these outsourced thrid wold calling centers and explode for all i care.
I was waiting in line for food stamps during Covid. People were all being greeted by SafeLink people giving away free phones and service. Sounded great. Luckily I did not give up my old phone & service which was all far superior to theirs. However I kept the phone and used it barely, just to ring my good phone when I misplaced it. However four months later I find they disconnected my service. I had no luck getting a human being to help me, only hang up on me. That person said I had no account and was transferring me to "upgrade". They reeled me in for free with phone number, let me use it and get comfortable with it so they can then cut me off to force me to by a monthly service plan. What is bad is that they never contacted me to tell me I was going to be disconnected, I just was. People need to make a call, they pay! Horrible service for this and other reasons. I didn't mind it for free but would never want this phone or service because it stinks but more so because of their shady way of doing business. If they told people when signing them up it was free for four months then low cost plan options after that with notice given in advance, people would not feel so scammed. Luckily, I have my old phone and service still. Do not recommend unless you are that broke but I think you can get same or better deals elsewhere.
I just qualified for the free phone & service. Well I've been on the phone for 3 days so far & I have no phone service not texts & all they do is hang up on me & then make promises they don't keep. They have the WORST Customer Service. I'm going back to my prior cellphone service
My service suddenly stopped and they didn't know why nor couldn't help me. They couldn't let me keep my old number. They kept switching me to someone else many times. Everytime they connect me to someone else I got cut off. Assurance is better. They are so incompetent.
So in 2/2022, they announced they will move over to Versizon and I do not have to do anything. On 3/2020, my phone can't text or make a call, my sim card has become inactive. Tried calling and only was on hold, no live person. No email to contact them either.
They were fine for a few years prior when I first singed up for Lifeline. So after trying for 7 days, I found another provider and canceled them and lost the phone number. It was worth it to never deal with them again.
If you are looking for a Lifeline provider, stay away from Safelink and find another provider!
I called customer service to find out why my phone isn't making calls or receiving calls. I was on hold the first time for 45 minutes hung up called back and was on a calling list for them to call me. It took a half hour for them to call me back in which we got disconnected. I called them back was on hold for another 20 minutes finally I hung up wasted about 2 2 1/2 hours waiting to talk to someone from customer service and I still haven't talked to anybody. Very very disappointed in my service today..
Do not waste your time here. You will NEVER be offered the option of speaking with a rep located in the United States Of America. Instead you will be passed off to some of the most ignorant, blatantly stupid morans on the face of planet earth. Have a close look at SafeLinks customer service ratings; F- from the top to the bottom. Complete and total failure at all levels. What a complete waste of time. Losers at every level.
This is the worst phone service ever. When you call they transfer you to a chain of people who never help you with your reason for call. They have this thick indian accent and tell you their "tools" don't work so they have to transfer you. They also have very long wait, times on the phone-between 1 and 2 hours. Just useless people and service.
Safe link customer service customer cares very super terrible. Any time calls have to wait over 30 minutes, after waiting a long time then agent call back then-agent said she needs to transfer higher department. After the agent transferred then another waiting the phone get disconnected, call them back then wait again. Then the agent did not take care correct problem to customer. Service safe link is not good. Not recommended to the customer. Super terrible service
Answer: SCAM! After giving them ALL my personal info I fond out they are over seas! And I never got any kind of service from them! Don't do it!
Answer: It is aweful! And once you so finally get a "human" you can't understand a word they are speaking! Because they are not in the United States!
Answer: If I remember right I had my phone for 3 months when I got a letter in the mail saying I qualified for my phone unlocked. I think I had to go through my account on line to unlock it. Check there and see if you see anything pertaining to that. If not maybe call troubleshooting and ask them. Word of WARNING if you are getting a free phone like I was they shut you off anytime and claim you don't qualify. Not sure maybe they get more government money for every phone they send out. I was shut off and reapplied and had a new phone and new number not even a month and was shut off again. No rhyme or reason and claimed they couldn't find my account. Good Luck
Answer: Honestly? Because they don't know what they are doing. I've been on the phone with them for 22 1/2 hrs and I have to call back tomorrow and try again because it's late and I tired. And I spoke to supervisors. Pathetic.
