I agree with the rest of the comments here. This site is a scam, sending me "fake emails" about having new messages in my inbox and asking me to pay to view them when they were all roomster generated messages. Oh, and not only that they automatically charge you $29 for a month subscription to useless service after that.
The merit of this site is very questionable! It is sad that there business model is based on covert practices, panhandling and snatching their customers money in exchange for an inferior internet product. If you ever notice how attractive some of the Posters are? I encourage you to do research on some of the folks in these "profiles". You will find that they feature several people who are affiliated with some type of entertainment source. Meaning they are probably recruiting paid talent to post, hey a gig is a gig I guess.
Buyer Beware!
I was using this site, and paid for a 3 day subscription. I went over my time and instead of stopping my ability to use the site it charged me for an additional month. There is no way that you can stop the roll over charge unless you cancel subscription, but then you are no longer allowed to use the site or reactivate the site! Even if you were only 1 day into a 30 day subscription.

Set up your account and leave your email address as a point of contact when writing your About page. That way your not using their message service and are not required to deal with the horrible payment options.
In addition to auto-renewing your subscription, ONE IRRELEVANT LEAD always comes in when you're not subscribed (and you don't know it then because you can't read it before subscribing) - and ZERO after you subscribe.
Despite the site seemingly containing pages of rooms/candidates, none of my messages were replied - ZERO!
In the same time I registered for 3 days on roommates.com, and have gotten 5+ real leads within 2 days, already visited them all and am ready to move in! (Be sure to also read the 1-2 star reviews for roommates.com, I feel perhaps I'm just awfully lucky after visiting that section.)
I guess the biggest complaint I have is that neither site allowed unpaid members to read any messages - even ones sent by paid members. This could be the reason why there are pages of people and yet none seem to bother responding.
Leads were bad, fake, scams... And I signed up for 3 days only to try and then they automatically charged my card for a month. When I tried calling to dispute it, they don't have anyone to answer the phone and you have to go online, where there is not even a way to email them.
Signed up for 3 day trial and on day 3 they charged my card $30. Emailed them because their phone does not take call for billing. They refuse to refund my money. I took out the trial on the 14th and they charged me at noon on the 17th. The 3rd day. Then they refuse to refund. I will have an attorney write these crooks a letter. And people are correct they use fake people.

Total scam. They have bogus user accounts generating e-mail activity to get people to pay for membership so they can see the e-mail. Total rip-off.
I just realized I got automatically charged $30 extra also, after my 3 days have ended! Of course, the phone number they provided had a brief automated message redirecting us back to their stupid website for assistance, no live person. How convenient. What a bunch of crooks! I'm so going to report them to BBB, we have to shut these scammers down!

I thought this site was great until I realized that my card had continued to be charged after my 3 day trial was up both times I used the service! They mention that they automatically upgrade all subscriptions for 3 months on a completely different page where you never even see it! I signed up on this website looking for a room to rent or share in a home. I authorized them to list my profile a 3 day period for $5.95. I have just noticed that they have been charging me $29.95 per month for the last two months. I immediately began trying to contact Roomster customer service and to no avail could find no 800 number, it all has to be done by email (how convenient).

Holy crap. I've been dealing with this stupid site for the past few days. I bought a 3 day subscription assuming it would last just 3 days. HAHAHAHAHA NOPE. They renew your account for 30 bucks. Now my bank account is overdrafted and I don't have the money to pay for it. I can't make a claim because these people tell you in the fine print that they're worthless swine. So unless you are smart about canceling your subscription before the time is up, then don't use this site. Also, all of the "support" is handled on the website. There is no number you can call, no live person you can talk to. After my first message was responded to, the rest of my messages were BLATANTLY IGNORED. Great PR there roomster. Stay the heck away from this terrible site.

EVERYONE RIPPED OFF by Roomster should contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and file a complaint. I did after trying unsuccessfully to reach a company representative on the phone and they refunded my money in full. (Their practice of extending your subscription automatically is completely misleading and simply a bad business practice.)

Warning, this is a oversea's business. I am warning you about this company obtaining your credit card info and the difficulty is stopping the charges. I had cancelled my credit card and believe it or not they found my new account and charged me again. I'm warning you to stay away from Roomster.com. The worst part is I never obtained any good room-mate leads from this service as well as the difficulty I had in cancelling my service with them. Buyer be ware!
