I received a message in my inbox. I found out you had to pay in order to view your messages. I had already sent inquiries to people so i thought it was a response from someone. Come to find out, i just paid to view a message from their support team... what kind of scam is that?

Site is very difficult to use, and it's annoying that you don't realize basic features are behind a paywall until well into searching.
Tried to sign up and even paid for the fee to list my place and find a roommate. The next day there were a series of charges for hundreds of dollars each. Now I'm waiting 3 weeks to get a new card in the mail. So needless to say I'm not a fan. I highly recommend you avoid this like an abusive meth addled ex.

A bit ridiculous that you have to pay a subscription fee to be able to view any messages from potential roommates. It's basically blocking any coherent communication behind a paywall. Everything else has been fine so far.
