Ordered a part on 1 November. Then I realized it was the wrong part. Cancelled that order the same day. I found out the following morning that Rock Auto had already billed my Visa debit card. Most credible on-line merchants don't invoice you until they ship the item. Now, after 14 days, Rock Auto still will not refund the money. This was both my first and last time dealing with this unethical company.
I have been ordering from Rock Auto for years now you can't beat their prices ever! I have always gotten the correct parts the 1 time I didn't was my fault & I had no problems with returning it either! Keep up the great Rock Auto!

Rock Auto has great prices, but that comes with a price! I just placed an order for enough oil and air filters for my two vehicles
For 2 years. Shipping was from 3 different locations initially, so I revised the order to order all items from the same location.
The problem with that was they only had 1 or 2 of each item in stock. I had to purchase 3 different brands of air filter in order to get 4 filters. You'd think technology exists that shows current inventory at specific locations proir to filling your shopping cart.
If I could give 0 star I would trust me. I paid a whopping 500 dollars for a diff rebuild kit and sent it back as it wasn't the correct size and had not received a penny or email back after following the instructions for refund. I would never recommend or purchase from them. I would move onto parts avatar or something that's reliable rock auto has significantly dropped
I bought a window washer pump ($8.99)for my 77 Ford F150 last week of Sept 22, stopped working bout a week ago. Removed it today after checking for 12v at plug. Frozen up. It'll naturally cost me another $8 to ship them the defective one for them to send me a new one. A good customer service idea would have been to tell me to throw the bad one away & send me their new one! Poor customer service relations from the start with no phone number for them!
I ordered 2 struts for my 09 Ford flex. Paid my mechanic $350 to install them. They both make a horrible noise when turning the wheel. Mechanic said both are defective. I will have to pay another $350 to remove and replace. Never again Rock auto.
I bought a sensor. The picture was not the same as i received. I was still liable for delivery fee. Their error and I had to pay for the return. How is this good business practice? DO NOT BUY FROM ROCKAUTO.
The price is no great savings customer assistance is not existent. They can't be reached by phone and don't seem to care about your happiness after the have your money
I purchased $300.00 worth of parts from rock auto. Their system glitched and made two of the same order. So to my surprise the next day when I checked my bank account and $600.00 had been taken out. I quickly reach out to rock auto customer service to address the problem. Unfortunately for me the items had already been shipped. They were kind enough to give me free return labels for when the packages arrived. So now I have 9 packages from rock auto 4 of which need to be returned. Simple enough I slap on the return labels take them to fedex and think it's over and I will be getting my $300 back. Wrong, after they have already made me go through all this extra hassle returning items I never ordered they have the audacity to tell me two of my packages aren't at the right rock auto facilities and I have to pay for them to go to the correct facilities. So they have the packages they just don't like where they are so I have to pay for it. Needless to say rock auto had lost a loyal customer for life. I've always went through rock auto and my whole family does. Screw of rock auto I hope your company tanks. It probably already is and that's why you can't cover a $30 dollar shipping fee for your mistake. Most companies call this the cost of doing business.
I remember my mechanic told me about this website 15 yrs ago I been coming and referred several people. Now as of September 2022 I have ordered several parts one was my spark plugs and wires for my Chevy equinox I get the parts take them to my mechanic to find out the spark plugs was for a ford then I ordered sensor for my equinox they sent another wrong part and when I tried to send it back they said I couldn't. So sensor are high so I lost out and then at this time I referred my sister for her Kia and she needed a knock sensor in August 2022 and boy did they send a malfunction part she just bought another one from autozone but the fact of this company messing up peoples things I think they need a petition or a lawsuit against them for taking peoples money and no form of speaking with someone direct u have to use their site in order to get nothing taken care of All these parts some I don't have the price of this one was the only one I could find but all These parts other then the air filter was wrong I was very upset with the sensors I ordered because a couple of the sensors were $60 or more and less on 1
It said item in stick will be shipped in 2 days. I been waiting a week already with a passed off customer. Every day is tomorrow in regards to getting my order. On top of thst there's no phone number or anyone to talk to. Apparently once they take your money you are screwed. Very terrible parts company. Customers be aware of the shady stuff here.

Ship rates seam high. Some parts arrive ontime. Some don't. If you must have it by a certain time get the part somewhere else
I ordered 2 of the same part for my truck. When the package came in there was only 1 part in the box. I clicked on the link in the email to start a dispute on my order. I got an email back very quickly asking what the issue was. I explained what happened and then they emailed back super fast. I had to send in pics of the packaging inside and out. Within an hour I had another email stating that my missing part was on it's way! I would recommend ordering any of your auto parts needs from Rockauto. I have been a customer for years and this is the very first time I have ever had a missing part so that goes to show how well their ordering system works!
Doing business with Rock Auto has been a nightmare. Received the wrong parts, as per their instructions sent them back at my expense. Then received the wrong parts again and I received a shipping label to send those wrong back to them again only to be informed by Rock Auto that I shipped them to the wrong place! The company that received the parts said it wasn't their product, so they threw the parts away. Those parts were worth over $200.00! IT was Rock Auto's own label they sent me. Now after 2 months of trying to get my money back from Rock Auto they are saying it's my fault. Do not do business with Rock Auto.
I needed the right side motor for my running board. Three times RockAuto sent the wrong part. I tried to tell them the box had the correct part number, but the part inside was for the other side. Every time I received a replacement (3x), the left side motor was in the box when I ordered the right side. The problem is there is nowhere to put remarks.
I have to package it back up and drive to FedEx to drop it off, as they won't pick it up. The third time is a charm. No more RockAuto for me.
My last order was left in my yard about 150ft from the house. I wasn't home and it rained about 3/4 of an inch. The box and the parts were soaked and the box had mud and grass clippings all over and in it. According to Rock it was my problem and they just expected me to keep and pay for the items. They would not help or even answer my e-mails trying to explain the problem.

With Head Bolts; without Washers (required). I waited for the package and it arrived as indicated. Even though it was a head gasket kit surprise to me no head gasket included in package. I contacted Rock Auto to report problem asking them to send head gasket as there was some gaskets that I could start repair. Was told that I would have to return whole package via return to their shipping warehouse and once label created they would ship replacement. After shipping return, I got shipping label update and later notification replacement shipped to Memphis. A few days later Memphis received and shortly later delayed notice. Later got acknowledgement they received my return. Original order October 4th, 2022. Now October 24th and no way to speak or communicate with them. Followed up with Fed Ex and told package was not received by them or lost. Rock Auto customer service contact sucks. Not even Chat. No avenue for resolution. If you have to pay few bucks extra to get the right parts on time do it to avoid a bunch of stress on your computer looking for resolution to a simple issue. Why would they not just sent the replacement missing gasket which is the main part to the advertised kit.
