The service is awful, kept having technical difficulties on the site and I was constantly told to try again in an hour. Ended doing the resume without the help of their service.

Cancelling the service is just as difficult. Do not use, there are enough free services and appts that will do the resume for you at no cost. I learned my lesson!

I do admit that I should have read reviews and I should have cancelled within the 14 days. I do admit that I forgot and that part is on me. What i can't stand is the fact that I read after the 14 days would be 9.99, not 39.99! That is A LOT of money! I am trying to land a job to MAKE money. NOT spend a bunch for something that I already created. The gal i talked to was fine. I can't stand the policies. And they have NO trouble pointing out to you that YOU were wrong. I learned my lesson!

I spent the money $1.95 to print a resume and they continue to bill credit card for amount... several months have passed and I fully intend to get the money back. You should run this site differently.

This is the standard response. Awful. It states you will be billed $9.95 a week. No where is the full amount printed. It is obvious that they are scamming. If they weren't, they would be upfront about the MONTHLY price.

I called customer service when I noticed a pending payment, before the payment even posted. No other reputable business operates this way. I will repost to BBB and social media. May even dispute on credit card.

When you are processing the payment we clearly state that yo can access the account for 14 days and if you're not satisfied we'll refund your money (during those 14 days). Unless you cancel, you authorize us to charge you every 4 weeks at the then current rate. Depending on where you are, foreign exchange fees may apply. Live Career is not responsible for any foreign exchange fees or surcharges imposed by your bank or card issuer. You can cancel your account at any time online or by phone to avoid future charges.

It's a scam.

I am completely disgusted by this company. I paid $1.95 to make and print a resume ONE time. I received a receipt for the $1.95 charge via email. The company then charges my credit card $40 for 3 months. I never received any other email or statements etc. when I called to complain and get a refund they only credited back one month's worth. Why would I want this for 3 months if I just wanted to make a "FREE" resume! Customer service was terrible and I was sent a form letter email stating there is nothing more they can do. I will be disputing the charges with my credit card company! To take money sneakily from people trying to find employment is so wrong and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Very deceptive

Wish I would have read these reviews before dealing with this company. This site advertises a free resume, which turns out to not be free in any way. I made my resume and agreed to pay the $1.95 for the 14 days so I would be able to print a copy, but a couple of weeks later was charged $40! The terms and conditions are not clearly displayed when you're making your initial payment, and the entire thing is just very deceptive and dishonest.
When I emailed customer service to explain my disappointment I was told by an unnamed "customer service representative" in a very generic copy-and-pasted email that this was my fault and there would be no refund. Now I'm going to have to dispute this with my credit card company.

This is a scam! Do not use this service. They charged me $45, and when you try to contact them, you're put through a loop with a representative to speak to. I needed this money for food and groceries, and had no idea it was going to be randomly withdrew from my account. In my opinion, this is stealing.

Absolute scam

I've never felt so scammed. I just needed help to write a nice looking resume, granted, it helped me. However, it charged me $39.80 after I canceled my subscription and paid the original $1.95! They advertise a free resume service but suck you in by creating a monthly subscription for you. They then charge your credit card with the information you provide and rip you off! Make sure you know what you are signing up for... a free resume sure but comes with a monthly fee of $47 charged on your card. Beware!

I tried this website to make a resume. However, it is not the most user friendly. Anyway, the part they get you on is after the free trial, if you do not cancel on time for whatever reason (mine was that my wife was sick and ended up having to have surgery and miss a few days of work), they will charge you. You do not get a reminder email that the free trial was ending or that you were charged again. They charged me for a full month which was $43.80.
When I contacted customer service and asked for a refund since they could clearly see that I had not used it after the free trial period, all they replied with is "we cannot do that." They won't issue any refunds. That's how they get their money and they do not acre about their customers.
Needless to say, we will never use them again and we are telling everyone we know not to use the.

The website is quite robust and easy to use. I was able to craft a great resume for my wife in mere minutes. They are not very forthcoming about their charges though. There is very little on the front page (besides a "Try it for free" button at the bottom) to indicate that it is a paid service. You can jump right into the resume builder complete with all the options and features, build your resume, and right when you go to print it tells you that you need to pay.

They offer a low cost options to access the resume for two weeks, but lord help you if you don't read all the fine print. $40 /month subscription fee! Because everybody needs a subscription to a resume building website. I missed the bullet point about the auto-renewing subscription. They played "GOTCHA!" and I lost.

I am very peeved at the moment. I was in serious need of help for a resume and I thought this was a gift sent from god. Turns out I was wrong. I used this website one time and was already annoyed that I went through all of the trouble to create the resume and then find out I had to pay to access it. But I really needed the resume so I took out my card. Then to find out they charge me another $19.80 for a monthly subscription and when I contacted them they stated it was a valid charge and I could not get my money back. Who wants to pay $30 a month for this useless website? NOT ME! I am highly dissapointed and cancelled my subscription thank god, but now I lost the money I had away for my trip this week and I am on a super tight budget. Thanks a lot, NOT!

Easiest Resume builder ever

I have been putting off redoing my resume for weeks but found jobs that insisted on one even though their application was very thorough. This was EASY. Seriously built a very nice resume in about 15 min. Got the first job that I used it on as well. Cancelation was easy and they were friendly and professional throughout the process. I used this service because I needed to create a resume quickly. I agreed to the $1.95 fee and trial subscription mostly because they wait until the end of your process to tell you that you cannot download your work without it. I understood that I needed to cancel my subscription to avoid being charged $39.95 a month for a continuing subscription. I set myself a reminder alarm and wrote myself a note in my planner to take care of this; I did so 2 weeks before the 'trial' ended and though that would be the end of it.

The company charged me TWICE in two weeks (which, even if I had not cancelled my subscription, would have been a mistake--that is like a double mistake!), informed me upon calling that I had only deleted my information and not cancelled my subscription. When I protested and explained that I had followed their emailed instructions to cancel, the supervisor backtracked and said it was an error and my funds would be refunded.

I was refunded both wrong charges. I have a cancellation confirmation number. I have zero confidence that this is the end of my issues with this group of scam artists. According to a customer service rep, this is an account with no name, no email, no verifying info--just my CC number. What the honest f?

The attorney general in my state has been notified, my bank has been notified, and the CC company has been notified. If, like me, you have come to these reviews after using the service, please contact your state's AG so this site will be shut down.

If I could give less than one star, I would. I would give negative one million stars.

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. Deactivating an account means you will not be able to access any of your resumes, cover letters, or emails, and this action cannot be undone. However, cancellation stops the auto-renewal.
In order for us to search an account that has been deleted, we ask for the last 4 digits of the card used to purchase and card holder’s name to cross reference.

With regard to the double charged, if proven that it was charged in error, we rectify the issue by refunding the said amount.

They billed me twice in one month then tried to give me an excuse about the billing being every 4 weeks. So I pointed out that I had one day left before it was 4 weeks but was told it was processed on the 31st on their computer but on my bank statement it was the 1st. I also waited almost 15 minutes to chat live with someone!

I joined Resume now to build a Resume to land the job I was after. And I did!... It was really easy to build my Resume and cover letter. If I ever need to write another one I would use them again!
