Very deceptive
March 13, 2022

Buyer beware! Be very careful when you book online and make sure you're booking from the hotel you want to stay at, and not with this ridiculous "service" 3x the price of walking up to the front desk and registering the day of your stay. Never ever again.

I inadvertently went to the website on a google search thinking I was booking directly with a hotel not knowing that I went to Reservations.com and was paying in US dollars (no indication on site - I live in Canada). I cancelled immediately when notified by my card and I noticed that I paid 1) too much for the room to begin with and 2) in US dollars. Now two things bother me, I will get a refund (hopefully soon) but will loose money in the exchange rate conversion US to CDN dollars AND you now being charged $19.99 US for the cancellation which is non-refundable which you can bet the hotel will not see and will not charge me as I have rebooked through Expedia.ca. This is dishonest. I have asked for this to be refunded too.

My husband thought he was booking through Courtyard Marriott directly and accidently booked through Reservations.com
2 days before travel he tore retina in eye and was unable to travel due to surgery.
Marriott allows you to cancel up to 24 hours in advance but this company would not allow us to cancel and charged for the full weeks reservation.
Do not use this company!

What a scam
March 9, 2022

They made the page appear to be the hotel page. I would never have gone to a thrid party for reservations. I tried to reach out to them 5 minutes after I booked it but of course they said I could not cancel. Ok. I'll live with that I need a hotel but when I called the hotel they said they had no record of my reservation. She said just in case call back later. I called back MUCH later and still not reservation at the hotel had come through and they even asked their support to look for my reservation and NOTHING. I called the company back again and they said it would be 7-10 days for them to research! Well my reservation is in 2 days! I called my credit card company and the transaction was pending but told me to dispute it once it posted. I had to rebook at the hotel and I will dispute.

Do not book using them their prices are misleading and they charge additional fees. It is cheaper to purchase directly from the hotel. Stay away!

Booked a hotel for $129 per night. I tired to cancel within 2 minutes. They said fine but would charge me $159 cancellation fee. I spoke to the supervisor- could barely understand her English and got nowhere. DO NOT USE THEM!

I made reservations thinking it was the hotel website, after putting in my info I immediately realized it was reservations.com. I cancelled within 5 mins and was still charged the $19.99 for them doing nothing. BEWARE and make sure you're in the correct website and NOT theirs.

I booked a nonrefundable reservation. I admit that I knew that. But the policy says "non-refundable for cancellations or no shows." I only needed to cancel because I didn't know my daughter was booking for the rooms needed, at the exact same time that I did……we double booked! I called and explained the situation and they basically said too bad, you're $#*! out of luck! I admit that I knew they said non refundable but I thought maybe they would take into consideration the circumstances but they didn't budge…. Even a partial refund would've been nice. I will never use reservations.com again, and will make sure to tell everyone I know the same thing. And by the reviews, I am not the only one who thinks this is a HORRIBLE company.

I wish I could give them a zero. Buyer beware and use caution if you do use them. They use trickery when booking. If you look closely when booking, the prices constantly change. Of course, they change in the upward direction. I ended up calling them about it and it was like "let's make a deal". Well... I got myself a deal or so I thought... fee after fee after fee. Then, try cancelling that reservation and getting a refund. (It's easier to have lunch with grizzly bears.) The reservation CLEARLY states you can cancel up to 48 hours before arrival date without penalty (except for a $19.99 service fee & the original $19.99 booking fee). Plus, if you happen to get "Jay" on the phone, immediately hang up and call again. Trust me on this one. He's horribly rude and extremely difficult to deal with. Not sure if he was having a bad day, but canceling a reservation should not cause anger out of a rep.

Biggest Ripoff Ever!
February 26, 2022

DON'T USE THIS SITE. First off, they charge an automatic 19.99 fee to do the booking. Secondly, I made a reservation, cancelled it in less than 30 minutes when I found other sites had it for half the price (and didn't realize I was booking with an outside source. Seemed like booking with the hotel... sneaky set up there). When my credit card bill came, they charged me a one night penalty plus the 19.99 fee. For a reservation cancelled within 30 minutes. Called to find out why the charge was so big and told "that is our policy. " Talk about feeling ripped off! I will stick with priceline from now on!

Swindled us
February 13, 2022

We tried to place a reservation directly with Ameristar but accidentally got reservations.com. They make themselves look like it's the hotel. It's not. They offered a $259 rate for the hotel, "plus taxes and a 12.99 resort fee. So we thought we would be paying maybe as much as $300 all total. We put in our credit card info and thought we were seeing all the fees and charges. Then after we pressed go to book it, the total charges came back as $371.00. Plus an additional resort fee of $12.99 "Due at Property". We would never have paid that much if we had known. My husband freaked out and called them immediately and tried to cancel. Too bad, they said, it's non-refundable. This was like, 5 minutes after we placed the reservation. It was obviously a mistake in that we did not intend to pay that much. So they said, OK, we can offer that you can cancel your reservation, and then we can put your "request for refund" through a 7-day process but our policy is to not refund your money. So basically, they were saying, how about you NOT get anything at all for your money and we'll just keep it, only we will let you know that in 7 days. I called Ameristar and they said the reservation was 3rd party so they didn't have control over it, but noted it had showed up as an Expedia reservation. So in other words, these guys piggy-back off Expedia. It's like, 3rd party once removed. This is why you can't get anything done with them. It is a racket. They are providing no service actually. They skim off the top is all. They are misleading. They will get themselves high on the google results with a heading that looks convincingly like it's the actual hotel. You cannot easily see what they are going to charge you. They will smugly tell you that they showed you before you clicked the very last thing. We didn't see it, and we are used to looking. They will charge your credit card from "Travelscape LLC & Reservations.com" This turns out to be "Benjamin & Brothers LLC DBA: Reservation.com" and they are in Florida. And if the hotel gets the reservation, they apparently will have no info that it came from these people. I alerted Ameristar that they were doing this. I hope none of you get swindled by these people. I would steer clear. Watch out for them in your google results.

What a gigantic rip-off
February 12, 2022

Web site is a complete scam do not use! They overcharge you on nightly fees which do not exist for the hotel and do not advise that you can't cancel the reservation without a nights charge. In fact they state in the reservation confirmation that you had to cancel the day before you made the reservation to be only the 19.99 fee. Ridiculous, do not use.

I used the Comfort Suites website thinking it would be the most direct and least expensive option. Only after I had booked the room did I realize that this bunch of thieves... Reservations.com... had added $20 to the cost of the reservation (which represented 20% of the cost of the room). Calling them to cancel revealed that they would keep the $20 no matter what. And, what service are they providing? Handling the reservations for the hotel? But, who is paying for that? You and me. I will NEVER stay at a Comfort Suites again, and I will DEFINITELY look carefully before clicking "purchase" to make sure Reservations.com hasn't ripped me off!

I booked a room on Reservations, but when I arrived at the hotel (Comfort Inn at Atlanta Airport), the hotel was overbooked and there were no rooms available, even though I held a reservation on my phone. It was a nightmarish experience trying to find anywhere to spend the night. The charges were pending on my card and I thought surely they are not going to charge me for non-existing room. But I was wrong - the charges appeared a few days later. I filed swiftly with the customer service, submitted all documentation they asked for, and it's been two weeks already and no refund. Please do not use this site and spread the word - they announce that they are about to go public on stock market.

I made my hotel reservation for 5 nights, not realizing that it was non-refundable. It gave me a few minutes to make the reservation, so I felt rushed to make it quickly without reading the fine print. After calling Customer Service, she verified that I cannot cancel my reservation of over $1,000 although I had just made the reservation 10-minutes prior. Buyers: BEWARE of their high pressure tactics to purchase without reading the fine print first. Next time, I will call the hotel directly in order to get a refund for any unexpected emergencies.

Poor Customer Service
February 9, 2022

I realized I had made a reservation for the wrong city and called the company within 5 minutes to cancel the reservation and make a reservation for the correct city. They will not refund a $20 service fee. If I made another reservation for the correct city immediately I would be charged an additional $20 service fee again. When I questioned this policy the agent disconnected the call. I wish I had read reviews before I used this company and of course will never use reservations.com in the future.
