Would have given zero stars if possible. Booked 3 rooms 6 months ago. Travel plans required cancellation of 1 room. Was told entire reservation needed to be cancelled and would need to check availability at hotel to rebook. Interesting that it took the agent seconds to tell me there was no availability. This was even though I still had a reservation for 3 rooms. How does that work? Will not use reservations.com again.
Going rate for a 2 night stay at Hampton Inn in Nappanee was about $173.00 canadian. They were offering $166.00. Not a lot of difference, but $7.00 per night is something. The Canadian price would be $173.00 + 13% Taxes = $195.49 and a small booking fee. On the last page, where you confirm your payment, there was small print at the bottom of the page that all costs are in USD. They charged the room in USD, the charged the canadian taxes in USD, they charged the $19.99 service fee in USD. In the end the per night reservation was $296.39 per night. Almost a $100.00 per night difference. I called theie Customer Service line and they said that since it was within 5 days, the $19.99 USD cancellation not valid and it would be $219.00 USD (1 night stay) to cancel..
Somehow after booking a hotel through Expedia.com and then canceled my reservation. When my meeting was back on I signed in to Expedia to rebook. Yet somehow my reservation was booked through Reservations.com. When I called the actual Hotel directly they said it was reserved through the "Agoda" travel agency.
Summary: Booked on Expedia.com: Told by Hotel it was the Agoda travel agency:, And then I found out it was booked through Reservations.com. THEN When I called American express they gave me another company name that was billing me.
This is a real scam. AVOID.
Whether I missed it in conversation or in writing, I was disappointed to have a $19.99 service charge added to the cost of my reservation through reservations.com. Or perhaps I didn't miss it -- perhaps reservations.com keeps it a secret until the customer receives a billing. And their customer services representative was quite abrupt and rude when I called to inquire about the additional cost.
Would rate 0 stars if I could. Thought I found a good deal on a hotel. Company has paid to be first result on Google. THOUGHT I WAS ON THE HOTELS' WEBSITE. Very misleading. Reservations.com will f*** you with their fees, then when you go to cancel because of their garbage fees, they will keep a $20 service fee. I will personally be disputing this with my credit card company, because the website says FREE CANCELLATION, and is false advertising. Book direct or from another website. Don't trust their "free cancellation".
They owe me a credit of $300. I have the email from them stating that. It's been 3 months and the CS and support just say they are waiting for the billing department. I don't think they intend to pay.
They require 1 week cancellation. I had a medical emergency and was unable to travel. They had 0 flexibility on their rigid cancellation policy, despite the hotel providing cancellations up to 48 hours prior to the start date.
I accidentally got on Reservations.com website thinking I was actually on the actual hotels website (Holiday Inn - IHG). I booked a one night stay. Since we usually eat breakfast at the hotel I asked the Reservation.com representative to include breakfast. She recalculated the cost including breakfast and I agreed gave her my credit card #. When I arrived at the hotel I was informed that the booking did not include breakfast. I looked mare thoroughly at Reservations.com booking receipt and the hotel clerk was correct, there was no mention that breakfast was included on it. I did send an email to Reservations.com stating that their booking agent failed to include it on the invoice. I have not heard back from them, nor received a refund for the amount I paid for breakfast for two. In addition it is my opinion that they misrepresented themself as being the actual hotels website, as I searched for the actual hotel name, Holiday Inn. It is also my opinion that if I had actually booked directly with the hotel the cost would be much less.
We chose the wrong city and time. Company refuses to accommodate and will only cancel if we eat the reservation. Good customer service. Don't waste your time with the company. It is the worst I have ever encountered.
Check your fine print. Don't think you can book and then cancel in a reasonable time because they won't let you out. Go direct to your hotel to book to keep your cancelation rights. Reservations.com is horrible. Zero or minus stars.
This site is a scam. If you call to modify your reservation because your event date changes, they tell you they can only cancel, charge you, and remake the reservation. If you cancel, even one day after making the reservation you are charged. Better off booking directly with the hotel.
I was not told there would be a charge for my cancellation. AND I cancelled one day after getting reservation and I cancelled 2 weeks early. DON'T GO THROUGH THEM FOR RESERVATIONS! I PAID $19.99 FOR NOTHING!
Shame on me for not reading the fine print maybe, but I shouldn't have to be a lawyer to reserve a room. Got a Motel 8 room for two nights, but only ended up needing one. 10 mins later I call to cancel... nope not allowed. I don't care if the fine print says its non refundable, I honestly didn't realize it and acted very quickly to change.
Also noticed if I had booked through Motel 8 instead, would have gotten a slightly better price and no $20 fee from reservations.com
Screw these guys, and the travel industry in general if this is the way things are going to be.
This evening I called the number on the hotel website page ad to inquire about the summer deals. I asked what kind of deals do they have, anniversary rates, stay and play rates or ama rates and The customer service rep (possibly Amber, Phllippinian/Asian accent)) I talked to said "no, we do t have anything like that" in a very indignant tone. She proceeded to talk over me and what hotel I was asking about. I said "the Deerfoot inn and casino". She said "what dates" at that point I told her "I'll call the hotel directly cause obviously you aren't going to be any help to me" she said in her $#*! tone "oh really, you got the number why don't you phone them then?" I said "yes I do, I will" and then she hung up on me. I went to go find the contact number I had and I got a phone call back. I answered and said hello and the caller was the lady I was talking to. She called me back to tell me my number has been blocked and she hung up again. I called back to speak to a supervisor but my cell number that I phoned it on the message kept looping. So I phoned back on my house phone and talked with a supervisor named Lisa. I told her why I was calling and she also kept talking over me asking what my reservation number was. I told her "I wasn't even able to make the reservation cause the call worker was rude and hung up on me." I asked for the name and number to submit my complaint and she again asked me for my reservation number. Again I told her "I wasn't even able to make a reservation due to the rude call lady." I also told her "for all I know it could be you I talked to andI want the supervisor or managers name" she said "I never talked with anyone it wasn't me" and she gave me the email address to submit my complaint.
They charge a non-refundable service fee as well as overcharge on taxes. Then when you cancel they offer you a 10% discount to keep your registration, which is overpriced. They basically are getting people who don't look closely on the link they click. I've travel for 40 years and they fooled me.
Booked two nights with these crooks and got to motel to only have one night actually booked which means I had to come out the pocket AGAIN. Reported it to them yet my money was never refunded.
Will never book a hotel that uses this service. Was charged double the taxes and fees of any other service and the $19.99 booking fee taken despite being lied to about numerous items regarding the booking. Total scam!
Booked 2 nights for a business trip, when I received the email confirmation it just happened to mention that the reservations were non- refundable. Booking agent never mentioned this in the booking session. Subsequently needed only 1 night for the business trip and stuck with a bill for 2 nights. Called and absolutely no help getting refund - bunch of crooks
I was not clearly shown what the total cost of booking a hotel room was. When I called to find out what the fees were and possibly cancel, I was hung up on several times, before I finally was connected to the representative. I was then told that the reservation I had made mere minutes before was not refundable because I would have had to cancel before I booked it. When I asked for a breakdown of the $52 in fees, they refused to provide me the information. When trying to cancel because the person traveling was ill they said they might cancel if I provided them medical documentation of the illness but even after that the cancellation and refund were not guaranteed. The customer service rep and their supervisor were both rude, interrupted me, talked over me and called me confused and stupid. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! They are the worst company I have ever dealt with.
They took nearly all of my mother's money, and then led her on by telling her they would give her a refund.
It has been almost six months, and they are not returning her calls OR emails. This is NOT a legitimate
Business, it's criminal behavior. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
