Made a reservation and realized a made an error within 2 minutes of making it. Called right away and explained what happened but no... no change. Reservation was final. AGGHHH!
This was the worst experience I have ever had with the travel site. Ever! We purchased rooms at the Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire. We had the option to purchase rooms at the Bretton Arms, an inn owned by the resort a few minutes walk down the hill from the main hotel. But the end is very quiet. Even though it was less expensive, we opted to go where we always go and love to go, the Mount Washington Hotel. There is an indoor and an outdoor pool right on site. There is a game room for the kids. There is a candy store and a coffee shop and a toy store. We were going with several families and it was a birthday weekend. We decided to all celebrate together and get rooms at the main hotel so the kids would have a really good time. Instead, when I went to check in the front desk, they told me that my reservation was made at the end down the road. However my confirmation email from reservations.com said I was booked in the main hotel. After an hour on the phone with their very poor customer service, they told me it was a third-party error and there was nothing they could do. They did the same thing to the families we were traveling with. So we paid a lot of money. They charged my credit card. And it was a bait and switch. I have been writing to them and calling them demanding my money back. They sold me something specific and I paid for it. But when I got here, I did not get what I paid for. They literally ruined our vacation. The adults cannot hang out and send the kids to the game room. There's no game room here. The adults can't hang out and send the kids to the toy shop or to run up and down the stairs in the big grand Hotel. There's no grand staircase here. I am getting in touch with the Better Business Bureau and I have contacted my credit card company as well. I would never use this website again. This is the worst experience I've ever had with the travel site.
This company is a scam. I am furious and frustrated. I thought I was making a reservation through the hotel directly but I was mistaken. They charged my credit card immediately and I never got a confirmation number or an email from them. I went to the hotel and there was no record of my reservation. This company is a scam. I am furious and frustrated. I thought I was making a reservation through the hotel directly but I was mistaken. They charge my credit card immediately and I never got a confirmation number or an email from them. I went to the hotel and there was no record of my reservation. When I called reservations.com, I was put on hold over 40 minutes each time. I hung up before anyone came back on the line.
Simply put, JUST DONT DO IT OR YOU'LL BE SORRY! Save yourself money, the headache and the frustrations and don't deal with them. I have made hundreds of different bookings online with many different companies and never experienced anything like what i went through today. Negative 5 stars if were possible. STAY AWAY
Reading the 5 Star Reviews, the manner in which they're all written suggests that all of the 5 Star reviews are written by the same person!
On my original posting to contact the AG's office in Florida, ironically the Florida AG's office has no interest in getting involved investigating reservations.com? It's been a while but the letter I got gave me he impression that my complaint was being brushed of. I got no help from them at all? I would recommend focusing on complaining to the US AG's Office now that we have a President who wants honesty in government. Don't even bother with the bureaucrat bean counters at the AG's Office in Flirida.
Pay attention to the people that are being paid to write good reviews. Absolutely absurd business. I booked the room online and cancelled within 7 minutes. I received an email a cancellation notice but the hotel called and said the reservation is still appearing! They refuse to cancellation the hotel side and NOT inform me! My reservation isn't until three months down the road and they will still not cancel from my card or the hotel!
I traveled for work, and I never been scammed as these liars did.
This case, I went from one customer to another and had no reservation. I goggled for Holiday Inn Express and got their number. I called and asked if this is Holiday Inn reservation, the liar said yes, and I thought it was the Holiday Inn central reservation. She gave me a rate of $86/night, plus taxes. I was not sure how long I was going to stay, since I did not get a chance to assess the amount of work I had to do. I asked about cancellation and early departure policy. The liar told me that I can cancel all within 24 hours, and no issues with early departure, so I said, lets make it for 7 nights, so I won't have to call back. At night, I got to the hotel, and found out this was a prepaid package, and the hotel has no control over it. I immediately called them to cancel it, they say NO. I asked about early departure, they said NO, we won't reimburse you. They advised me to read their Terms and Conditions, but since I booked the hotel on the phone, I did not have a way to read these prior to the booking, and I had to rely on the agent ethics.
I had to leave the hotel next day. The hotel charged me $73.60 and these crocks charged my visa for another $755.83 for one night of stay. My employer won't reimburse me for that amount. Still trying to work with my visa to get my money back. I made at least 20 phone calls, write emails, they don't want to hear it.
I will never deal with this company again. Poor customer service and not honest on charges.
Booked a hotel through them and never once mentioned it was in USD, noticed when my card was charged and tried to cancel the, They have told me that I cannot cancel bookings with them and were very rude about it.
Would never suggest anyone using them.
I cannot in right mind even give them a Half Star rating. But I have to pick something.
Three days before check in and called to change my reservation, coming in a day later. Because the hotel was booked, they said they would need to cancel my reservation entirely with the possibility of losing my other night. Clearly they could have called and worked with the hotel and nothing. Customer service sucks. Will never ever use again.
I believed I was booking through the hotel directly and only when I was checking in did I realize it was a "third party provider"
Would have been $139 CDN booked through the hotel directly but instead cost $189 US per night plus "extra fees".
I spent two hours on the phone with them trying to cancel so I could book through the hotel and completely wasted my time.
DO NO USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM!
The price they show is not the price you paying believe that and they will have the dumbest excuse for why you just paid all that money do not believe the prices you see on there anyting yes I pay a charge a fee 1499 but what about that other $175 that y'all took from me scammers
Charged me 14.99 for their "service." Better to go to hotel direct or any other discount service but this.
I enjoyed all these things starting from booking to the end... their vustiner servive is better than other... i can say it is all in one site...
Thought I was booking directly with Marriott... After I received my reservation, I realized I made a mistake. Instead of booking 1 night stay 3 nights were booked. Called Reservation.com immediately and was told No Changes available. I called the hotel and was informed that they could make the change to 1 night. Terrible customer service, NEVER USE RESERVATION.COM
I paid $412 to reserve 2 nights at the Best Western Station Inn through this site, I thought I was directly at the hotel site. After I noticed that booked on a travel site guestreservations.com, I check the price for 2 nights through the Best WEstern Site and it would have been $76 less ($336). I called them and ask to cancel and they said they wouldn't refund any money they would only give me a 10% discount after 5-7 business days after my checkout.
Had to book three rooms for myself and two colleagues, for a meeting at one of my customers. Thought I was booking through the actual hotel, not Reservations.com. We had a severe snow storm that shutdown the interstate, and since I was coming from a different direction, I was the only one able to attend. I had called the hotel and cancelled 2 of the rooms 24hrs in advance. They said there was no problem in cancelling. However, when I got my statement from the credit card company, I was still being charged for all three rooms. Called the hotel and they said i needed to discuss with Reservations.com since they handled the transaction. Called them and they said there was nothing that they could do since I did not cancel this through them, and they would not refund my money. Funny thing happened, I was also billed for the one room directly from the hotel, and it was considerably less than what it was through Reservations.com. I called the hotel and they did refund that charge. Reservations.com is a joke and never again will I ever reserve anything through them. The email response from them was a joke. It was just a response that they had already used for someone else, since they mentioned the wrong hotel in it. They later sent another email apologizing for sending the first email. So then they changed it to the correct hotel, but the rest was exactly the same. Make sure you are actually booking with the Hotel, NOT Reservations.com!
I tried to switch my dates and sometimes even if there is a no change policy they always seem to help anyways. Not RESERVATION.COM... I called asked if I could switch my weekend... not a cancel just a switch of dates. She placed me on hold forever then comes back on and tells me they wont change it and I would need to eat the coast and tried to get me to order another room PLUS CHARGWE ME A CANCELING FEE!
I hung up on her and called the hotel directly. Took not even 5 minutes and it was switched free of charge. Lesson learned. I will never use RESERVATION.COM again!
Thought I was booking room through Drury website but was really reservations.com (sneaky) Upon completion I discovered they were charging $40 more for their "booking fee" immediately called- they would not cancel and blamed Drury policy. Not true! Drury allows cancellation up to noon on day of arrival at no charge. Talked to very helpful agent at reserved Drury. He was VERY familiar with this practice. Turns out it was actually Priceline that made and controls the reservation. Spent over 2 hours with Priceline and reservations.com talking to people I had great difficulty understanding. Finally requested to talk to a supervisor. Was told I could not - they were busy and they would not allow me to hold. Promised the supervisor would call me - never happened! Said I would recieve a confirmation reservation email- never happened! Read that Priceline sometimes cancelled reservations without your knowledge so called Drury location and the graciously offered to make a backup reservation for me and even offered a discount with ability to cancel free by noon of check in day. Turns out I could have book for 130 total vs $191 total. VERY disappointed in the service from Priceline or reservations.com- whoever they really are! Hats off to Drury and be ashamed Priceline/Reservations.com!
Made a reservation to this company by accident. Got the wrong number. Called them back when I got the receipt and talked to the same guy who was still finishing up my order and explained that I called the wrong company. He promised a refund. Instead I was billed $76 for my troubles. I use AZ shuttle who charges $40 v/s their $75.
CSR******* was my reservation number if you need to check. I filed this with Visa as a scam outfit. Guess no problem proving that, eh!
Whatever you do don't user reservations.com. They never told me that there was going to be a non-refundable $14.99 fee. Pretty sneaky! I've never used them before and never will again.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
