DO NOT USE THIS "COMPANY". I thought I was calling the actual hotel (Best Western plus NW Indianapolis) to book a two night stay for my son's baseball tournament in July. I had no idea I was talking to reservations.com the lady acted like she knew about the baseball tournament & promised we would get the discounted group rate. She scammed me by telling me I was talking to the actual hotel ( which I called).
They charged our CC over $400 for a best western at the time I called. When we got to hotel the lady said we didn't get discounted rate because I didn't book through them?!
When we checked out the hotel charged us $368 so we got charged twice for this stay.
Reservations.com charged us & the hotel charged us. Please beware that you are calling the actual hotel and not this place.
They are called reservations.com because they want to scam & rob you. Now this so called company has my CC number.
This place should be out of business!
I booked with this company and was charged $861.60 at the time of booking. The site presented this as the lowest rate. I was charged immediately despite the ability to cancel my reservation up to 2 days before my stay. At checkout we then received our receipt from the hotel and the charges for the stay were only$642.78. This company is a scam and overpriced. I'd understand a surcharge, but typically when booking through any site they are selling rooms at a discount; not this company. Do not use them.
This company is a total rip-off they don't tell you they're going to charge you $15 for just calling them on top of that they book you at a hotel that they never told you that you were supposed to stay at and then they want to argue with you to make it right never again ever use anything but reservationcounter.com they were not nice to work with their people are from Zimbabwe and you can't understand anything they say when you talked to corporate they don't have much to say because they're not going to help you anyway tons of extra charges
I feel like an idiot for not looking here first and avoiding these guys. My room rate was more expensive than it would have been otherwise AND they wouldn't let me cancel the third night. The hotel tried to help me out (they were great) but they couldn't get them to refund it either. I wouldn't be surprised if the hotel refunded reservations.com then they didn't pass it along to me. Never again.
Do not use this I'll loosely call a company. They will cheat you by showing a $5 lower price than other real reservation companies and then stick your charge card for $15 you can not get back.
Please email your favorite hotels and ask them to not except reservation from them. I did. Thanks
If you are into paying too much for a room, paying crazy fees And a $14.99 service charge, only to get a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation, these are your guys.
I thought I was on the Country Inn and Suites site until it was too late. Calling them 2 minutes after hitting the "book" button was a complete waste of time. All the person on the other end of the line could say was non-refundable. If you find yourself on their site, close the page as quickly as you can.
These folks are scum!
Watch out for the hidden charges. Not only did I pay higher rates than necessary for the room, I received a separate charge from reservations.com... no explanation. Looks like a service charge. I thought I was working straight with Homewood Suites, but this popped up and took over without notice.
Once I discovered the overpricing and the extra $14.99 charges, I tried to cancel the reservation on line. A pop up came up saying they would refund the $14.99 if I would not cancel the reservation. I was then informed on line that I had to call in to cancel the reservation. Of course I was put in contact with someone from another country. After multiple questions and verification information I finally was so frustrated I said just please cancel the reservation and confirm by email and disconnected the call. I get an immediate call from the same clerk that said I had to call back in and confirm I wanted to cancel the reservations. What a joke! Stay far, far away!
I am definitely finished with booking on line... not the first time this has happened to me. I'm going to call direct to the hotel. Wish I could give this a negative score. I see a couple of 5-stars... Reservations.Com must have done that themselves!
I made a 2 night reservation, and plans suddenly changed. I only needed 1 of the 2 nights. When calling Reservation.com to modify, I was told that a change or cancelation was impossible, due to the hotel's policy. I then called the hotel to verify this and they laughed at it. They said they had no such policy, and that they were happy to modify the reservation. I called Reservation.com back to tell them what the hotel said. I was then told that they would call the hotel to verify, but after ten minutes on hold, they told me that no one at the hotel would answer the phone! What a joke! If you reserve with this campy, DO NOT count on getting a penny of your money back if your plans change.
Booked a room with this rip off company and got took. They charged me more money than I could get if I called the hotel itself and booked the room. The bad part is they do not give you a charge before you pay and than find out you are being ripped off. Than I can't cancel the reservation because they say it is a discounted rate. Since when is a discounted rate end up being higher than the hotels rate. I called and even went thru the process again on line and nowhere is the final cost shown. Be very careful with this company and don't use them, you are better off with any other company or just call the hotel and book your room. IT WILL BE CHEAPER
If I could give it a 0 I would. They charge you 15$ just to book on their site. I had to cancel my hotel and I had read the cancellation policy and I was able to cancel the hotel at no charge. They would not refund me the correct amount and when I tried to contact customer service they said since I no longer have a booking with them they can't do anything about it! Such a rip off company. They also wait to charge you when the exchange rate is high and refund you when the exchange rate is low.
If I could click on a sub-star I would. Inadvertently made hotel reservation through them. I thought I was dealing with the hotel directly and the agent did not identify herself as a third party. She did not ask for my email or phone number. A receipt would have been sent to my email if the agent had done her job correctly. Therefore, no receipt to turn in to the travel insurance company due to trip interruption. When I called them they were unable to find my reservation (which apparently can only be accessed by using my email or phone number--again, something never requested). They could not look up anything by my name or itinerary number provided when the reservation was made. I could not believe they were unable to look up my account using my name. I had contacted Expedia first, who kept giving me new numbers to call and finally ended up with reservations.com. In addition, they were deceitful because there was also a $14.99 booking fee which was never mentioned. This is quite possibly the worst customer service department I've ever dealt with. Because of this I'll NEVER deal with Expedia again--at least as long as they work with reservations.com. However, they had no problem charging my credit card. I disputed the charge and they had no problem refuting the dispute. Because they had to prove the charge, Expedia actually had to provide a receipt. What a shame!
We took a mini-vacation to Niagara Falls and booked a room at the Wyndam Hotel. When we arrived we thought it's nice for one night - as we were walking in - there was an old building next door with the roof looking like it was from the 1960's and nothing had been replaced. It looked abandoned. My husband joked with our 11 year old - that's the hotel we are staying in. We checked in, the room wasn't ready, we went and did activities and came back at 11pm and they said you are in the south tower - we followed the directions and the room was in the building that was old, worn down and looking like it was in need of a wrecking ball. There apparently were no other rooms, after argueeing they gave us our money back - not for parking and a $15 reservations.com fee lol we ended up driving home tired and the vacation wrecked. Do not book with them.
If 0 stars was an option that would be my choise.
Booked a room on what I thought was the Comfort Inn website. My room charge was supposed to be $119 x 2 plus a sales tax of 14.125% or $271.62. They charged my credit card $299.23. The total included a service charge of $14.99 and extra sales tax of $12.62.
I called them immediately to cancel and they asked me if I would keep the reservation if the
Extra charges were refunded. Stupid part of my brain said OK, still waiting for refund that will never come. I have reported the sales tax overcharge to NYS Sales Tax fraud unit.
Also advised Comfort Inn but they did not seem concerned, perhaps they are in on the scam.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE HOTELS WEBSITE BEFORE YOU BOOK!
We thought we were on the Hotel website and we called the number on top to make our reservation. The reservation process went well until the Taxes and Fees of almost 25% was being charged. The State and Local Tax for the Hotel was 13%. When I checked in at the Hotel I requested a breakdown of the taxes and fees that were charged. At that time I was informed that my reservation was made thru Reservations.com and I would have to talk to them. I had several communications with Reservations.com and they flatly Refused to give me a breakdown of the Taxes and Fees. Obviously because the sum of the Taxes & Fees was about $100 LESS than what I was charged. I will be VERY much more aware of who I am dealing with in the future because RESERVATIONS.COM Will NOT be my agent.
I didn't realize that I had to cancel my reservation through reservations.com. I canceled through the hotel two days before my reservation and still got charged through reservations.com. Called and explained what happened, they still charged me.
Terrible customer service. No accountability for poor service and no attempt to right their wrong. I wish I had seen these poor reviews before I booked with them. Save yourself the headache and stay away from this company.
Charged me an extra $188.00! Did not include that in the price before booking, can not get a live person on the phone. When I tried to cancel they said I had to cancel before 8/9, I booked the room on 8/13?
Pay attention to who you book through, and it should never be this site. If you need to adjust a date they charge you the entire amount again. So i will pay for two weekends in a row, one that i do not need but I will not give them my money ever. My bad for being in a hurry but ZERO help from overseas operator.
This company is a SCAM. They don't care, and they pirate your well intentions of using a well know service like Hotels.com.
They have a non refundable $14.99, which they intent to get from you, and threaten to get your reservation payment too. I'm going to report to the State of Florida, and the BBB. Stay away
When I went to the hotel to check in the first thing they asked was if this was booked through Expedia because everything looked odd to them. I said No, I booked it through the hotel website. Or at least I thought it was the hotel website. The front desk had a big problem getting everything to go through so they just started from scratch and I finally got my room - at a cheaper rate ($40) by the way than what turned out to be the reservations.com rate. Later checking my credit card bill I'd been billed by the reservations.com as well as the hotel. I think reservations.com mimicked the hotel 's site and made it look like they were legitimate. And they charged me a $14.99 booking fee. Turns out they are some outfit in England. (Plus, I got charged a foreign transaction fee too!) Be careful making your reservations and make sure you're dealing with the real hotel. Next time I'm going to make my reservation by phone and try not to get swindled by this resevations.com outfit mimicking a legitimate business.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
