It's perfectly possible to make a QR code for no code to you or them. However, their business revolves around fake demand. What they'll do is sell you a "free QR code" with an artificially imposed limit on scans and ask you to pay for any further usage of it.

I am a freelance web designer and I redesigned my business cards. I laid out my design with a QR code and hence I found this company.
I was okay with doing the free trial and then paying for the service. Not an issue for me.

However, I printed all my business cards and when I received them I scanned the QR code just to have it redirect me to an out of service page.

I thought okay no worries my free trial might be up. So I went to pay for my account and this is when I realized how awful this company is. I had the form properly filled out and it kept sending me this message (also see screenshot) "oops! Your card was declined due to unknown reasons. Please try a different card, use another form of payment, or contact your card issuer." What am I supposed to do with that?
Please keep in mind I checked my account and I had all my funds there so paying for this was not a problem. I also just issued this card 2 WEEKS AGO so it is brand new and I have had no other issues with it from any of my other vendors...except this one.

Not only is the form a piece of junk but it charged me $1.07 every time I tried to submit the form. I did not realize this until I looked at my bank app and saw all these random charges they were charging me.

QR Code-generator.com's idea of support is a bot that sends you vague and crappy automated emails.

In conclusion, I now have my new business cards with a QR code on them that does not work because this company does not work. I HIGHLY recommend using another service.

This service will attempt to lure you in by saying they have free trials and a free plan, but you cannot use that plan for almost every single QR code you make. Intentionally deceptive and outrageous pricing on their services after you've realized the mistake and little to no customer service. Shameful

Absolute thieves.
June 4, 2023

I created a single QR code for personal use, and proceeded to print it on a huge number of business cards.
I was on a 14-day-long free trial. Anyway, even before the end of these 14 days, my QR code got blocked and the website asked for money to reactivate it. I subscribed to the cheapest plan, which is 8 euros per month, but they charged an entire year of money instead! I can't believe I'm paying 96 euros for a single QR code. This is absolutely ridiculous and you should avoid this website at all costs.

Like so many others, I signed up for the free code, and had business cards printed with the code. Going to the show tomorrow with 1000 business cards in hand, now to realize the code no longer works, and I have to play $120/year They count on investing in using the QR code and then having to pay for their service once that has been done.

Pure scam.

Buyer beware. Search QR code generator on Google, and their result is at the top. Their site is attractive and easy to use, but what is not clear is the exorbitant annual fee they require after the 14-day free trial period (by which time, many of us dopes have likely already published the QR code). Please be smarter than I was and use another QR code generator.

Crooks!
May 23, 2023

I wouldn't even give 1 star! I had no idea I was dealing with a a free trial! I sent out 100 flyers with a QR code for registration and just found out the code is INACTIVE Now! Who does that? Crooked Jackasses! I would have been willing to pay for a month long subscription to get me through the registration but $120 just pisses me off too badly! So disappointed! If this company actually intends to make it I would suggest some customer service other than your STUPID chat bot! CROOKS!

Did the sample Q-code generator. When prompted to pay for a plan, submitted my payment of $9.99. They charged me over $119. My bank flagged the fraud but the overcharge went thru. Worse, they never re-activated my Q-code and my mailer already went out. I went to their website and spent nearly an hour trying to resolve it. The automated chatbot is utterly beyond worthless. There is no semblance of support whatsoever anywhere. There is no contact information anywhere. I have no recourse to resolve their fraud. These people are rip off artists of the first and worst sort. Steer clear!

Duped!
May 8, 2023

Like so many others, I'm very upset that there was not clear mention of the QR code expiring after a certain amount of time. Luckily I'd gone back in to see how many I could create in what I thought was a free account, only to see the QR code was now set to expire in 11 days. After I'd printed out flyers, online marketing, and a banner for our nonprofit. It is an upfront charge for a yearly subscription that is presented as monthly, no option of month-to-month. Received a fraud notice from my bank after the reluctant $100+ purchase to keep our one QR code active- clearly this is some overseas business. Hoping others see all of these reviews and don't make the same mistake! There are apparently plenty of actual free generators out there. This is not one of them.

Bait and switch
April 19, 2023

They say it's a "free" QR code - then I filled out a bunch of information and now it says it's only free for 16 days and then it's $9.99 a month for TWO QR CODES. Total rip-off - don't waist your time. They should NOT lie to you. Plus those prices are ridiculous.

I will cancel my plan at the first chance I get. Absolute scam of a company.
They trick you by claiming it's free and only offer a yearly plan. Dosgusting practice and I personally hope they will go bankrupt.

I made a QR code for my wedding invitations on this site. Suprise -- you can't save your work without an account, which means you just signed up for a free trial. And the big surprise comes when your QR code stops working in 13 days. After the wedding invites are printed. Go with a different site that won't screw you. I was able to revive my QR code, but it costs $120. Which is a complete rip off. STAY AWAY.

I generated several QR codes with this company, supposedly for free, and used them for a while. When I got reports that the codes were not working, I discovered that I was under a trial period that ended after 14 days. Since I have business cards and lots of literature printed with the codes, I tried to upgrade to a paid plan, but they refuse to take my payment! (That's a switch!) After many attempts to resolve the situation, I am forced to reprint all of my literature and use a REALLY FREE QR code from another source. This company cost me hundreds of dollars in lost revenue and wasted literature. They should be shut down.

Their free trial is a limited 14 days but limits the number of scans you may use. They list their subscription as a monthly cost but are billed annually. Who generates enough QR codes to require this kind of usage? My bank is still pending and I can not get a refund. (I wish I had called it a scam and disputed the charges as fraud when it happened. I am truly disgusted that there is no way to get a refund. If you cancel, they simply take away access to your QR codes. Just go to Google Chrome and use its features, because It is ridiculous to pay for this site unless you are using a huge number of QR codes.

I am a teacher and used the site to create QR codes for a project in class. These codes were meant to be used for 4 days. I am happy to pay one month of subscription, but this is ridiculous. Lesson learned: don't work with an overseas company and one that does not respond to criticism.

Theives!
March 20, 2023

Had a year of service that expired a few months back (only needed it for a year). But out of nowhere this month, they charged me for a other year of pro service (without my consent!) for about $85 USD. When I contacted support about it, they say the never received any payment from me and I am still on a "free" plan, which my account DOES reflect. However, I have the receipt they sent for that $85, and my bank reflects that charge! This is a criminal business. Either that, or their system are so broken they shouldn't be doing business anyway. Either way, it's time for a class action lawsuit... ATTN lawyers!

It's a scam
March 16, 2023

I needed to print some flyers for my business so I looked around for a free QR code but many of the sites I found stated that use of the QR code was only on a trial basis. When I found this one, it advertised itself as COMPLETELY free (which I believed as there are many that are actually free which I have used before but forgot the names of the company). As it turns out, it expires after 14 days and requires an annual subscription at a rate of $120. By this point, I have already spent the $200 on the flyers with this QR code on it so now I'm in a debate of whether to reprint the flyers or pay the $120 to keep the QR codes. If someone in the company reads this, if you made it easier to cancel one's subscription and started charging on a monthly basis, it would be significantly better for both parties as a $30 business expense is an easier sell for you while also being a more acceptable cost for the mistake of using this website than the current $120 uncancelable subscription.
