Rip off artists, they list the same serial numbered items over and over again until they get the overinflated price they want. Unethical.
Update: in response to the Pristine rep's comments, nowhere on the auctions I am talking about does it state they have reserves. So I am going to stick to my original comments and advise people to stay away.

It sounds like you are seeing an item that was offered with a reserve and was listed again after not hitting the set reserve price. Please let us know if there are any other questions or concerns.

I have seen the same exact numbered item for auction several times on this site. It is apparent they just run up the price until they get a price that they want. If they don't get the price they want they keep the item and trot the same item back out for another "auction". I have bought a few thing from the site and I believe the prices I paid were reasonable but don't be fooled by the title "pristine auction".

I've spent over 4 hours bidding on items and not one bid was accepted due to losing out on hidden bids. What a waste of time. For god sakes just show the high bid, please!

Our format allows for bidders to enter a hidden maximum bid. If you are immediately outbid it likely indicates that a previous bidder has already entered a higher maximum bid on that lot. Please note that our daily auctions always start at just $1 and never have a reserve price!
Have bid on and won several auctions on Pristine Auction site. At first I thought I found a unique site. Now realize they will run the bidding up to reach your max bid if no one else is interested. Also found several Cal Ripken Jr autographed jersey lots using the same picture for different lots.

The quality of the item I bid on was not what I received The packaging was damaged, and the signature smudged. Pristines answer was I didnt bid on the packing LMAO
They claim I pirchasrd the item damaged, and providrd a fake picture that was supposesly on the site. My opinion!
I believe that the item in question was artificially inflated by ghost bidders as well

I set my timer to 20 minutes so I could bid on A item that was ending in 22 minutes. Only to come back and it said 20 minutes to go. Four different times!

The scenario you are describing would not be possible unless your browser was left stagnant and was not receiving updated data from our website. Our auctions do have a standard extended bidding period of 10 minutes as outlined in our policies. This creates a fun auction format similar to a 'going once... going twice... sold' format in a live auction. I purchased a print for CAD$23 including the mark up. I paid $13 for shipping and thought that was my total. I thought this because there is not duty or tax on under $30. Imagine when UPS demanded $21 further payment for 'Brokerage'! It was not over $30, and what they dared to take in broad daylight was what I paid for the print. I looked again at the print but saw only that I could be liable for duties and taxes 'as charged by the Canadian Government'... now, UPS, as far as my humble and limited knowledge goes, is not yet a country.
I have left Pristine and will not return, they are in my opinion misleading foreign buyers. Disgraceful!

Sorry to hear about your experience. Out of country shipping can get tricky. It is possible for packages to be assessed duties and taxes when imported from another country.
