The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

On April 25,2022 I booked a car rental at Mex Rent a Car in San DIego through Priceline. THe confirmation email from Priceline is below. I was to pick up the car on May 4 at 11 am. I arrived at 10:45 and when I tried to obtain my car, the Mex Rent a Car told me that Priceline had not paid them and that she could not rent me the car until I paid the $168.79 for the car. She clearly had my reservation in her computer system, but it was not paid by Priceline even though I had paid Priceline on April 25,2022. I immediately called Priceline and they refused to do anything about it as they were just the third party. The agent then called Mex Rent a Car to confirm that I was in fact there and that Mex Rent a Car would not rent me the vehicle. The Mex Rent a Car agent confirmed with the Priceline agent that Priceline never paid Mex Rent a Car. The Priceline agent offered to cancel the reservation. THe Mex Rent a Car agent said that if the Priceline agent canceled the reservation, Mex Rent a Car would not have a car to rent me. The agent said there was nothing else she could do at that time to get payment to Mex Rent a Car. I was stranded in San Diego and had no other means to travel to my destination. THe Priceline agent was very aware that I then had to pay the $168.79 for the car and she told me that I would be refunded the $168.79 and somebody would call me back. No one ever called me back and no refund was given. Priceline breached the contract (terms and conditions) for the car rental by failing to supply the car at the date and time specified in the agreement. Not only did they breach it but they were very aware of the breach and I told the agent on May 4th that Priceline was in breach and they needed to fix it. Over 6 weeks later and no refund for a car that I had to pay twice for. Do not use Priceline.
Booked a room and paid them when I arrived was turned away stating no rooms were available. Since I went through it a time change and it was after midnight I was told I would get a refund plus $13 goodwill refund. What a joke! They take your money then leave you with no place to sleep. NEVER AGAIN
Priceline would not refund any portion of my money even though I canceled two weeks prior to rental date. Very rude woman on the phone. I will do my very best to steer as many people I can away from Priceline. I'll also leave negative reviews on every site I can find. 100% scam artists.
Worst customer service, just hangs up on me. They put false advertisement saying if I call then I get a better deal. All lies, turns out its more expensive. Priceline used to be decent, now it's just trash.
I was charged three nights by a hotel that I booked through priceline. I only stayed two nights and had one room. I sent the charges and explained to Priceline. They first contacted the owner who said he will not refund because it was paid to Priceline. I call Priceline for the refund. They said they would refund but first want to confirm the reservation with the owner. The hotel denied the refund because they confirmed I was accommodated. Priceline said they cannot provide a refund of the owner denies it. They care more about their relationships with the hotels then their customers.
Priceline VIP says if you find a cheaper price within 24 hours they will honor the lower price. I found a $200.00 cheaper price on priceline. At first they said they could not "lower the price". When I read the price guarantee to them, they then said, "ok, I am sorry." A few minutes later they came back and said because it is a package they would not honor the lower price. But, the guarantee says, airfare, hotels, and cruises. My "package" is a hotel and airfare.
DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM PRICELINE. THEY DO NOT GOVE REFUNDS. SOMEONE ELSE MADE A RESERVATION UNDER MY NAME. I CALLES TO DISPUTE IT AND THEY ROLD ME I CANT GET MY $400 BACK. THERE GOES MY HARD EARNED MONEY. YOU ARE BETTER OFF WITH KAYAK, ORBITZ OR EXPEDIA
I had to cancel my trip due to an emergency with my elderly mother. Priceline is requiring me to provide medical documentation from her doctor In order to get my refund. She is cripple and has more bad days then good days. I needed to go home to help care for her because she's had more bad days. Priceline is horrible to work with do not ever work with any online third-party. Go directly to the venue for reservations. You will get shafted otherwise
My hotel I purchased on Priceline was overbooked when I got there. Priceline will not refund money. I have made 10 calls to Priceline and 2 3 way calls with hotel and Priceline and the hotel has told them they were overbooked and approved if the chargeback and refund. Priceline refuses. Also had another room another weekend that Priceline refused to reschedule or refund when kids tournament was canceled. Hotel agreed that time also. Priceline is a fraud and your hands are tied when trying to get refunds. I will never use them again. Previously I was using them every weekend. The lost a customer and when I requested a manager call. Me back to discuss the called me at 11:45 pm. I'm sure hoping I would not answer.
DONT! I REPEAT! DONT BOOK any hotel rooms with Priceline! They are greedy and will not accommodate you once they take your money! You will not be able to cancel, change or modify your booking at all! They will Charge you $400 to cancel a room and you will end up having to dispute the transaction with your bank causing more of a headache! I'm not sure what makes Priceline think they can take consumers money and not accommodate them in any type of way! You should be able to have it your way with your hard earned money wherever you choose to spend it! They will try to hook you in with a deal and if something unexpected happens they don't care they will keep your money and tell you OH WELL!. You would think a multi million dollar company would do better in this day and age right? SHUT THEM DOWN PLZ!
I should have been looking at these reviews before now, i understand now why your score is that. I refund should be giving if you can not get to the hotel because of tropical storm Alex and the roads are flooding out in Key West! Cuistomer service is terrible next step will be the BBB, and it seems like you do NOT have a good rating there!
I RENTED A CAR WITH HERTZ THROUGH PRICELINE AND I WAS CHARGED TWICE. ONE BY P. L AND 2ND BY HERTZ. I CALLED PRICELINE TWICE AND THEY DID NOT RESOLVED THIS ISSUED.
TOTAL RIP OFF! I ADVICED YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM PRICELINE.
The customer service is absolutely terrible. I was charged an additional $500 due to one of their agents filling out my flight reservation incorrectly. They acknowledged their mistake, but continue to give me the run around anytime I call. During one of our calls, they put me on hold for 2 hours. I found out later that particular department was closed for the day so the agent had essentially transferred me to a dead line. It's been 3 months with no refund and no valid reason why. I strongly recommend saving yourself the headache by using ANY other travel service.
Be aware of those crooks they will rip you off not only once but will keep doing it for ever.
I just seen another charge on my credit card account from March of 2022 and my reservation was canceled within the first 30 minutes of car reservation. Save your self and go elsewhere please.
I live in Melbourne and booked a sydney hotel through priceline, was informed "Cancellation free". I made the booking 1 and a half month before the travel and changed my schedule the very next day, which certainly in the cancellation free period. I cancel the bookings, my credit card account shows an international transaction fee, which is 3% of the total cost.
I contact priceline. They deny it's their issue and asked me to contact another company which I don't even deal with.
Very tricky charging first, horrible customer service later.
Would have to avoid dealing with them in future.
If you want use them, think again.
They do not want to give you your money back if you have to check out early before your stays up. They are $#*!s and treat you like $#*! on the phone.
Please don't ever use Priceline! They are completely fraudulent and we were defrauded by them. They advertised a low rate for a hotel on the dates we had specified, when we hit 'book' online the dates we had entered changed and we booked non-refundable hotel fares. We immediately realised and reached out to Priceline and were told that even though we booked through them, that we had to contact their sister company booking.com as the fare was really with them. We could not reach booking, com to explain what had happened and change our dates and we subsequently lost $320 USD with Priceline completely unwilling to help. This is a a mega scam, DO NOT use them (please).
I booked an express deal from Priceline as I was travelling and exhausted. I chose the top level of hotel to be sure I would be in a good place. The hotel was not updated at all. Upon arrival, there was shouting in the halls. It was 10:00 pm. I looked online to find something else and learned that there express deal price was higher than the normal price. I called and also asked to change hotels. They would not help. I stayed the night, but was awoken by yelling from guests who were outside at 1:30 am. Also, we lost power. The clerk told me that she also could hear them, but we lost power so they were outside. She did nothing to quiet them until I complained! I then called Priceline again. They would do nothing. I checked out at 5 am frustrated and have since called Priceline several times, They assured me it was escalated and even though the manager at the hotel agreed to refund 1/2 my money, every person gives a different story. The customer service is outsourced and nobody has the same answer. This has been the worst experience ever. NEVER AGAIN!
Left stranded because they said they booked my room, but didn't. Same thing happed when they attempted to fix issue. On hold for four hours driving around because I had no room. Customer service rude and could not careless. DO NOT USE.
Priceline doesn't deliver what they're offering. They always offer you hotels that are full and the prospective hotel will tell you there's no room available and you are forced to take a low grade hotel that is far lower price than what you paid for. I'll never use their service again.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
