Priceline Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

If I could give them less than one star I would. I have used priceline.com many times before to book hotel rooms. Today I decided to try booking a rental car. During the booking process a banner came up stating "click here to save $50 on your rental". I clicked on the credit card application and applied for the card and I was approved. Naturally I was happy to save $50 on my rental. When I completed the purchase there was no $50 credit applied to my purchase. I called customer service (which is in Mexico) and spoke to a representative. I was told that unfortunately the website does not always bring up the correct credit card offer and that I needed to apply for the annual fee card. I explained that I had already applied and was approved for the no-annual fee card and there was nothing on their offer that indicated that I needed to apply for the annual fee card. I asked to be transferred to the next level up to dispute the problem. I spoke with the next level of management and they were unable to help me as well. The only solution they gave me was to reapply for the annual fee card. I am very disappointed with priceline and for the $30 difference think that next time I will consider Orbitz instead. Buyer beware!

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. DO NOT USE IF YOU TRAVEL FOR BUSINESS... Getting an itemized receipt from these people not only takes an act of Congress, but a Celestial Virgin and Multiple Magical Unicorns as well. If you need itemized receipts for reimbursement like my company does, please save yourself time and issue, and continue to their nearest competitor.

NEVER BOOK THROUGH THEM! THEY SCREWED UP TWO HOTELS AND REFUSED TO REFUND ANYTHING! EVEN WHEN WE EXPLAINED THAT WE WERE PICKING UP OUR SON FROM THE ARMY AFTER BEING GONE FOR MONTHS! THE HOTEL ITSELF REFUNDED THE MONEY AND THE OTHER ONE LET US STAY THE NIGHT. THEY BOTH SAID THEY HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH PRICELINE! BOOK DIRECT!

BEWARE BEWARE Priceline has a policy of no refunds or changes. They do not care what the circumstances are. Their so called customer service ( which is no customer service) just repeats this policy and will do nothing to help you. Better to pay a little more than deal with this company. Rip off.

Hotel was not as expected! Save yourself money and just call the hotel direct. Why pay priceline for setting up a reservation you can do over the phone or the hotels home website? Wish I had of reasearched it more before using priceline!

If there were a zero rating, it would be too high.
These people will give you a hotel that is totally opposite what you chose, and then when you tell them it was all wrong they will outright LIE to you, telling you they will refund you if you rebook. DO NOT DO IT! They will not refund your money at all and you will pay for TWO BAD EXPERIENCES.
CHEATERS LIARS AND CROOKS!

I will never book with priceline.com again. After making a guaranteed car rental reservation and even pre-paying insurance, we arrived at our destination ( in another country) to be told there were no vehicles available. We were forced to walk to another location to obtain a much higher price vehicle.

Just booked a single night hotel stay which generally was $3 cheaper than anywhere else with name your own price. Good enough I thought. Later in the night I found it for $12 cheaper plus taxes were $10 cheaper. I phoned and asked about the Priceline Big Deal Guarantee and they gave me the $22 back PLUS the $25 reward for a total of $47. They were very nice about it and didn't give me the run around. Great experience.

They were so nice to me on the phone and in customer chats until after I spent over $3000 with them. Than all of a sudden the things that had previously told me were no longer true. They couldn't let me talk to certain people. Was told I would receive calls and never did. When I emailed them they replied with we did contact and the issue was resolved. Which I never spoke with anyone and the issue is still standing. TWO of their employees told me that if I booked with them they would match my price multiple times as long as is was within 24 hrs of departure, and the itinerary was exactly the same. I complied with that and they will not match the price. BEYOND the fact of that they are just rude on the phone. I am treated so poorly. I actually had to explain click by click to one of the employees on how to find the vacation rate! Complete idiots!

I booked a trip through priceline knowing that they had the priceline guarantee... What a crock that is. I had found my exact trip for like $500 cheaper on THEIR website and they were unwilling to refund the difference. Guarantee... YEAH RIGHT! What a JOKE!

I purchased a plane ticket through Priceline's 'Name Your Price' and had great success. I found a plane ticket from Chicago to Philadelphia for 50% less than what was available on Orbitz and Travelocity at the time. Although you cannot choose your travel times, I ended up getting departure and return flights that didn't leave too early or return too late. I would suggest it to anyone with flexible departure times. Sooo thrilled!

Beware: Priceline is a ripoff scam. I bid on a 4 to 5 star hotel minimum as an anniversary treat for my wife. Priceline came back with a 3 star hotel and charged me the full bid price ($75 higher than the 3 star hotel going rate). All other travel review companies, including AAA, Hotels.com, TripAdvisor, etc. rate that hotel as 3 star. We didn't even stay there because we were looking for something nicer for our anniversary, but they charged us $152 anyway. I later found out that Priceline routinely, intentionally, and illegally overinflates their hotel ratings to sell inferior rooms at higher overinflated prices, ripping off their customers. Customer service was a joke - they are so rude, and they chuckled and practically agreed that they conduct this scam, but "it is their business". Beware: Priceline is a ripoff scam.

Priceline is TOPLINE and the No # 1 in Customer Service.

I had my hotel bookings made through Priceline in LA. I was so looking forward to the trip but an unfortunate incident happened as my father passed away and i wanted to cancel all my bookings. No help from Travelocity on my flight bookings, nothing was refunded. But Priceline were so considerate and took there time to convience the hotel manager and provided a complete refund on the bookings. I couldn't be more thankful.

Thank you so much for all the help. I have gained a lot of appreciation for you all. I 'll always consider to place any of my future bookings with Priceline. I would like to rank you no. 1 on the best customer service.

Thanks again.

Just purchased a ticket for an international flight and guess what? For all the site ive been through priceline.com gave me the lowest fare, even the airlines is 300 dollars more expensive than priceline, and for everyone its not the travel agencies faults if you messed up on your purchased just because you failed to double check., all i can say i had a great business with priceline and i also called the airlines and they confirmed that i am booked and i am ready for the upcoming flight.

I was searching for a three star hotel in the fort myers/naples area and priceline gave me clarion hotel for $120 a night. Priceline charged me this price however when I checked on the clarion hotel price, it showed that the price was actually $99 a night. Not only did priceline overprice the hotel but they also wrongly rated the hotel as a three star hotel. The clarion hotel staff also confirmed to me that the clarion hotel fort myers was a two star hotel. They even complained to me that priceline is deliberately misrepresenting facts about their hotel and making their work very hard as they keep being yelled at by unhappy customers. It really did look like a one star hotel to me. I immediately asked for a refund but priceline only accepted to refund the difference the hotel was offering their room for and what they(priceline) had charged. Priceline chose to stick to keeping the rest of the money and threatened that I would lose the money if I dont stay in the hotel. I was forced to stay in this dingy hotel with my child and found the hotel very filthy and smelled bad. Be very careful with priceline as they are daylight thieves. As for me, thats the last time I ever use priceline.com

My daughter was a victim of crime. She needed to feel safe so I booked her a flight with insurance so that we would be able to switch it around if she needed to stay longer. She was having a very difficult time so we were going to extend her stay. Priceline would NOT work with me to extend her stay. They showed no compassion & refused to change her flight at all. My daughter was in terrible shape & I felt like Priceline added to her stress & despair. I will never forget how Priceline took our money with the promise that we could switch flights if needed but then... Victimized my daughter again. I urge each & every traveller to avoid using Priceline. Terrible things can happen & if they happen when you are traveling... You need a company that will Help you in your time of need. I want to warn others so that they do not feel further victimized like we did. There is far too much competition to deal with a company that lacks customer service & compassion.

DON'T USE PRICELINE! THEY HAVE A GLITCH IN THEIR PROGRAM THAT CAN MAKE A SUDDEN CHANGE TO YOUR DEPARTURE CITY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEARCH AND IF YOU DON'T CATCH IT IN THE CONTRACT, THEY WILL NOT BUDGE AN INCH WHEN YOU TRY TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY ALSO CHARGE HUGE CANCELATION FEES IF THEY LET YOU CANCEL AT ALL!

I made my original booking to find out that the the request failed. I was told by priceline that it was because I added a rental car to my package and sometimes that messes their system up. So I booked again, without the rental car and it still didn't go through. This time priceline blamed the hotel I chose, saying that the hotel still had rooms listed, but there weren't any rooms available. So, try number 3, I changed hotels and submitted the package to have it fail again. Priceline's reason this time - the airline had seats listed when there really weren't any seats available! Unbelievable! And guess what, each attempted booking put a hold on my bank account for the price of the package! - Even more unbelievable! And to try to get it resolved quickly through priceline - what a joke. I'm not even sure how this company stays in business. I've written priceline an email detailing my situation 2 days ago and haven't heard anything in response. DON'T USE PRICELINE, UNLESS YOU HAVE LOTS OF MONEY IN YOUR ACCOUNT TO BE PUT ON HOLD!

Booked airfare to Maui for 2 tickets. Put in the dates to be 10 days apart. Got the confirmation and they booked the tickets to arrive and leave Maui the same day. Ended up costing nearly $700 to change the tickets to the right day. They would not work with us, even though we're pretty sure it was their mistake. Don't bother using these guys. Customer service doesn't speak English well and they won't work with you on anything.
