The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

We used Priceline in the past and apparently they are getting worse. When you use the bidding feature you can't see what hotel you are trying to get a reservation in and for the second time they gave us a horrible hotel that they claimed to be three stars but when you search the hotel online in a different website about reviews, you can see how Priceline lies to you. Stay away from Priceline. The customer service treats you rudely and once you already reserve the hotel with this blind bi
Ds they think they are gods and think they can give you a crap hotel for your money. Use other places where you can actually see where you are going. Use Hotels.com where you can find out the hotel you going before paying!
DO NOT USE! Absolutely horrible. Had to change our flight information and they just kept bouncing us around on the phone to different people and it took two hours to speak to the supervisor who barely helped. Then they ended up charging us $1800 instead of $400 so we had to then call the bank and spend more time on the phone getting that fixed. Bottom line, do not use priceline.
Worst customer service i have ever received. Booked a flight months in advance and never received notice that the flight time had been moved up an hour. When i called to ask why I wasn't informed with a phone call (phone # was required to be filled in when booking reservation) they couldn't answer and said there was nothing they could offer me to "help" the situation. Asked for a manager and she was even more rude/useless than the 1st representative i was speaking with. I will never use this site again even if it's a few $'s cheaper than booking direct with the airlines, it's not worth it!
These people can't be trusted to rate a hotel/motel. I paid $119 a night for a room in Marathon, Fl. That was filthy, 50+ yrs. Old. It had no parking, except on the side of the road. The mattress/box spring was covered with stains and holes. I wouldn't let my dog stay at this place. Priceline describes the rooms as "awesome". What a joke!
I booked a room through priceline in July, 2012. I booked 2 rooms for 2 nigts in Wildwood, NJ. We checked in and did our thing for the day, returned at midnight and went to bed. When we woke up in the morning we found bed bugs on the mattress in our room. We called and spoke to pipeline and they said that we should get our money back. After a week to 10 day of arguing with priceline we were sent a email saying that we were getting our refund. We received only 1/2 of our money and we sent another email that we were not getting anything more. What a waste of time. Do not use this company, also they own booking.com as well.
Book a "3 1/2 star" hotel through name your own price in Anaheim and was ripped off! Paid $73 bucks a night for a 3 night stay and $50 bucks in taxes a total of $250 for a hotel that has no accomdations expect for a bed and four walls! And I find out I have to pay for parking during my stay.My husband and I are taking our kids to Disneyland on a budget and found 2 1/2 star hotels on my own near Disneyland that's for less with free breakfast, wifi and parking and shuttle. Priceline is a scam BIDDERS BEWARE! These clowns take advantage of people and are heartless! I don't know how they sleep at night! I'm still fighting for my refund. I'LL be damed if they're gonna keep my $250 bucks!
Priceline authorized my account twice on one purchase. When I called to rectify it they were not willing to use my bank's required 'verbage' on a fax. I spent hours calling back and forth to my bank and Priceline. It was a waist of time. In the meantime, I don't have access to my money. When I asked Priceline to cancel the transaction altogether, I was told that I could not cancel or change it. Those ladies have heavy accents so it is obvious that they outsource their business. I am now starting to question, Why I let any bank take my money hostage? And, Why am I supporting a business that outsources jobs that could be helping Americans?
There should be 0 stars to represent the amount of customer service we received while trying to book our flight. We got $100 off a flight for booking a cruise with them, a mistake, and tried to place a phone call to them, second mistake.
I booked a cruise and got $100 off a flight, if booked through priceline. I call our "travel agent" and ask for help to book the flight, they said they have no idea how flights work and can only do cruise related tasks so they transfer me to the flight division. Someone in the flight division picks up, asks for my reservation number and we spend about 2 minutes with me trying to explain that we don't have a flight booked yet, only a cruise, and that I want to book a flight, they ask to put me on hold, then hang up.
I figured maybe it was an accident, at first. I try to call back our "travel agent" and no answer. I try to find a number for the flight department, after much searching I find a single number to call and you are required to have a reservation number to get connected to a human, cruise number does not work. I try to call our agent a few more times, to no avail, and decide to press 0 when it goes to voicemail because it is now an emergency, I fear their building may have burned down. After waiting 15 minutes on hold someone answers and tells me they can only do cruise info; after 5 minutes of searching themselves, they give me the flight division number that requires a reservation number for a flight. I give up, never using priceline again.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, CAN'T BELIEVE I AM CHEATED. Very upsetting (not matter of money, but the experience)
1. They said if I apply for a Pirceline Card and if it is approved, I will get $50 off on that Purchase. After I applied the card, the card is approved, but I can only use this card after 10 business days (what?). I had to book the tickets immediately, I cannot wait for 10 days to get $50.
2. Price Guarantee: (Crap). I booked international ticket for 1650, but next day the price came down, and when I called them to do a price match, they say the price guarantee is only within 24 hours. They expect me to read the terms & conditions. How many of us really read the conditions?
I booked two nights at a Charlotte Haytt place. Decided to stay another two nights but puched the wrong button and booked another Hyatt a mile away. Even though it was the same price as the holel I was in, they would not change my reservation to let me stay at the hotel I was already in. Of course for $180,00 they would change my reservation. About the worst customer service posible.
I will never use this sight again and will tell everyone I know to steer clear. I booked a hotel room through Priceline with Embassy Suites at 2:30 on July 4th to be able to watch fireworks in Austin---where I live. I did this to avoid fighting traffic. I discovered an hour later that I booked the wrong location. Pricelines response was that I had to have canceled by July 3rd. Hello--i hadnt booked by the 3rd!'They would not transfer the credit to the correct location or just refund my money. They didnt even iffer store credit at there crapoy sight--not hat id want it! They were not apologetic at all and offered no solutions. This sight is a SCAM. I will be disputing the charge on my credit card. I may even sue them here in Austin---I'm a lawyer, so no real sweat iff my back. Maybe they will think twice before being so unreasonable and trying to shove contracts of adhesion down our throats. If a less than one star option existed--I would give them that. I have used orbitz, Expedia, travelzoo and others with no problems. Priceline is a joke--a sick one. Run don't walk.
When I book hotels, airfare, etc, I always look at numerous sites at the exact same time to get the same price. Sop when booking a trip for my group of girlfriends and I to have a reunion trip in Ocean City, MD, Priceline was the cheapest by about $20 or more dollars. So I figured, well I will book on them. I normally ONLY book on Orbitz and Expedia because I always have a good experience. Well I should have gone with what I know. When the 4 of us showed up at the hotel, they charged us another $70 because there were more than 2 of us in the room. I guess this is a policy of Pricelines they advertise NO WHERE! Just that they are the "best" prices around. BS. I called to complain and all the customer service rep did was read me the policy over and over again. Real helpful. I will never book with them again. Ever.
I use this website to book hotels, car, and hotel very often. I travel every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. I tried out their negotiator option for the hotels, and was booked with a hotel where 5 out of the 8 reviews left reported theft - one of them in 3 rooms at once while the occupants were at a convention. I called customer service and they would not issue me a credit to book with another hotel. Very unhappy and will not be using this website again.
Complete Scam!
Made a very last minute online booking for a hotel in NYC last night - everything (dates, price etc) seemed OK until after they sent the final confirmation - their computer system had changed the booking and made it for tonight instead of last night because they couldn't process such a last minute booking (it was 1am, we wanted a hotel for that night rather than trying to drive home).
Tried calling to get hold of anyone, none of the numbers put you in contact with a person at that time of night I guess. Spent ages going through their automated systems wasting more & more time until we just gave in trying to fix it & got a room in another hotel instead. Now they refuse to change/cancel the booking and were less than helpful.
Also worth noting that the female 'Manager' at the hotel in NYC where the booking was made (Hotel Indigo in Chelsea) was rude and very unhelpful when I tried calling them to see if they had another way to contact Priceline since none of the listed numbers were getting me through to a person). She told me she couldn't do anything, then changed her mind & said she was cancelling my booking then basically hung up on me, but when I did manage to get through to Priceline today they told me no the booking was not & could not be cancelled - so she lied to me
This is a shame because I have used them before & it was fine, but this one episode has completely ruined it for me & I won't be back, & will be telling everyone I know to avoid them like the plague.
I reserved a room at one motel with no problem then the next day I tried to book another room at another town and when I Hit the 'purchase this room' for the stated price I was redirected to the beginning like I was never there. I hit the back button and everything was correct, resubmitted and redirected to the beginning again. One more time and I was redirected to the beginning with an increased price! So while I argued with the company reps on the phone from India who said that price was no longer available I booked the same room with Hotels.com for the original price. All the time Priceline reps kept lying to me over and over. Screw those guys. I'll NEVER do business with them again.
Booked a hotel for one night. We paid 199$ for out hotel. A few days later on the site it had gone down to 159$. But apparently we only have 24hrs to get our money difference, and the reservations can't be canceled. I will never use priceline again. I thought the commercials always displayed people getting their money difference? These guys are a joke! I wish we had gone through somewhere else, and not we're stuck with it, and screwed out of our money.
I booked a hotel in NYC. Then, I had an unexpected illness in my family and I wanted to cancel the reservation a week prior to the stay. My grandmother was in a critical state in a hospital and I had to immediately travel to Europe. Priceline representatives just kept repeating that that was a non-refundable reservation. In the end, I had to pay the full price for a three day stay. I was deeply disappointed with their lack of cooperation in this difficult time.
I booked a hotel room reservation through priceline, three rooms for one night. I received an email confirmation from their website saying that three rooms for one night is what would be booked. Closer to the time of my stay, I received a confirmation from the hotel; this confirmation was completely incorrect. Apparently priceline had outsourced to booking.com, who made my reservation; the reservation was only booked as one room for one night. I may as well have booked directly through the hotel because I had to spend two hours sorting out the issue to get the correct number of rooms confirmed with the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, booking.com had booked 5 rooms for me, 3 for 2 nights and 2 for 1 night, even after I had spent the two hours correcting the mistake previously. I was told by the manager at the hotel that they have a hard time dealing with booking.com and that my credit card may be charged anyway because priceline/booking.com will charge the credit card themselves then pay the hotel, even though the reservation was a "pay when you stay" reservation. They said they would cancel the extra rooms on their end, but that I should check my credit card in case the website charged me anyway. I was also told if I had called the hotel directly I would have received a better rate. Booking through priceline was a bigger headache than it was worth. Next time I book a hotel room, I will be booking directly through the hotel. Priceline just managed to be an unnecessary middleman who wasted hours of my time and caused a gigantic headache. I would not recommend this website to anyone. It is an unnecessary step in booking a hotel -- just book directly through the hotel and save yourself time and hassle.
The worst experience ever online booking! Stay away from priceline.
They offer something they CANNOT deliver and they do have cancelation fees with awful customer service. Never, ever use this site again!
Priceline shouldn't be in business.
Will not work with customer. Family emergency with police reports and all documentation. NO HELP! All agents are located in the Philippines and speak broken English and if you asked for a US rep... no can do! Absolutely horrible customer service. STAY AWAY! Call the hotel directly!
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
