Priceline Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. Two words:

NEVER AGAIN.

I really wish I went on this review website earlier to read all these horrible reviews before booking with them. :( Now i'm paying out of pocket for a hotel I never even stayed at... and they wont refund me. NO MATTER how much I tried.

Unprofessional. Bad customer service. Unjust. Book anywhere else.

I inadvertently chose the wrong airport to land in and they would not correct it even though it happened only minutes after the purchase. I will never book through them again. The problem with these companies is they just don't get customer service. Restaurants for the most part do.

Priceline suggested a property that had recent burglery and was not safe. When I asked to change the reservation, they refused to do so and stated that my family's safety was not their concern.

Priceline is a rip-off! Nothing in life is ever "unchangeable" but if you run into a situation where you need to make a change priceline will not even work with you. I wasn't asking for a refund, I only wanted to make a change in location because of a last minute problem. Priceline was uncaring, unsympathetic, rude and unhelpful.

I did the name your own price and the deal was awesome. I was told if I miss the departure flight then everything is lost and no refunds. Seems odd to lose the trip on the way back that I paid for just for not making the departure flight. Since that didn't happen, the deal was amazing but I just wanted to warn others of that.

I booked 4 rooms for 4 nights each. One party pooped out so I had to cancel one room (within a couple of hours of making the reservation) This was on Aug. 22,2012.
I was informed the hotel, (Holiday Inn Express, Vicksburg) was charging me one nights stay as a cancellation fee. I called the hotel and was informed they did not charge a fee. Called price line back, three times now, finally got a assurance of credit. It is now Sept. 24 2012. Apparently, price line was charging the fee. When I called, (several times), I was put on hold many times, on one occasion, a total of 16 minutes.
They seem to try to make it extremely difficult to get a credit from them. Will not ever use them again!

My credit card information was stolen and used on this site. When I tried to resolve the issue through them, they told me that they can't cancel because the "name your price" option was used. The rep told me that if I didn't use the reservation I would still have to pay for it even though my information was stolen! I had to report this to my credit card company because Priceline was not able to "do" anything.

Very Very bad policy I book and trip which was a great price., but we booked an event and all details about event where not online. The ad said pick up at hotel. When we call to confirm they said our hotel was to far and they only pick in one area. There was no parking for us to drive to the event and priceline would not give me a refund or anything, said there is no refunds. Then they say no fees but when we printed everything out there was like 200 in fee's. Taxes ok I know we pay that but other fees for 200 and then hotel fee and then car rental did not have insurance so that was another fee so I paid another 347 on top of what we paid priceline and the lost 112 for the event we could not get to, cause it was on the other side of the island. The only happy part of the trip was the hotel was nice and clean and staff was great we stood at the Embassy suites dorada hotel and casino del mar in Dorado Puerto Rico. But priceline suck's and I lost alot of money to beware when booking with them.

I am very upset with priceline. There were a mistake on my ticket, and priceline whould not change it, or refund me for that ticket. I had to go through Delta and buy that same ticket. The price I was given, was $200.00 per person. I was not able to use the priceline ticket for my returning flight back to RDU. They just tooked my money, like it was nothing to them. I don't plan to ever use priceline again. I also applied for their priceline visa card, which was approved. I was promised that I will save $50.00 on my flight purchase, but I never received it. Priceline was suppposed to automatically deduct it from my flight. All I asked was for them to change the time from 6: am to 6: pm. How hard was that for them to do? Captain Kurt, I love your TV movies, but I hate the way you run your business. STOP ripping people off! Get some English talking people, so we can understand what they are saying.

Looked up hotels
September 2, 2012

Looked up hotels - bid $80 for a 3 star - made sure under amenities for all 3.5 stars that parking was included. They said if I bid $14 more I could have a 3.5 star - said ok - got one - called the hotel to ask for 2 beds and found out there is a $16 a day parking fee! I will never use them again -- they don't care - when I called I was basically told too bad - the contract says that I have to give a credit card when I check in for other charges. And they won't do anything about it.
WATCH OUT -- I have used these guys before - once we got to the hotel and were told there were no rooms - they moved us to another hotel! SO disappointed - asked them at least to add "parking for a fee" to this hotel description and was told no - sometimes it is included!

I wasn't a customer
September 1, 2012

I wasn't a customer. I dropped out before purchasing because they have NO customer service at all. If you make a non-refundable purchase they have customer service for your order (they say).

The whole thing didn't feel right so I booked through Hotline. All the travel websites had the same price, and the only difference was in the total price based on the package you buy (some have cheaper car rentals, for example, but the airline tickets were the same price everywhere.

Priceline gave us a deal price but after we receipted the bill from hotel itself shown the price is cheaper... they didn't want to paid back the different and they kept said it was a mistake. And even the gave us the coupon of $50 you must book again the hotel through them,, with 3 to 5 days. The customer services was rude even the the supervisors, they cheat you, they not working professional like they keep said will safe some money for their customer, they hang up the phoned before we finished it.

Priceline cheats people. Stay away from them. They elevate ratings on hotels so you think you are bidding on a high end 4 star hotel but are really bidding on a 2 star hotel and paying market rate. You don't even get a good deal on their mislabled hotels. Their customer service is awful and they read a script about how they don't refund your money - they clearly have read that script over and over again. Go to expedia, orbitz, booking, anyplace but priceline.

$111
August 22, 2012

$111. For a hotel in Monticello, NY for a 1 nt stay.
First impression... pulled up to the Super 8 looked like a scene from the wild west... gravel driveway/ parking lot, no other cars. Checked in... room dirty, shabby furnishings so I pulled the bed linens to check for bed bugs... OMG... the fact that I felt the need to check in and of itself was horrifying. Okay no bugs... whew! However, there was dirt and hair in the bed. I called and requested clean sheets and in the meantime discovered nuts, chips, bottle cap, dust etc behind the couch. Oh oh I forgot to mention the hole in the floor... covered by the carpeting but had I put all my weight on the area I'm. Sure I would have gone straight through. The staff apologized for mot being able to check all their rooms each day, brought fresh linen And offered to vacuum. Mmmmmm no thanks, we reloaded our bags in the car and left. We drove home after the concert we were in town to attend. We spent less than 30 min in the room discussing our concerns with mgt.
Called priceline who spoke to the manager of the hotel... who LIeD... said we were in The room for 4 hrs (I wouldn't have left my dog in that room for 4hrs) and would not issue a refund. Priceline is supporting the decision of the hotel despite the fact that I offered time stamped videos of the room and pictures of us less than an hour later at the concert... all of which would have proven that we spent less than an hr there. As per Priceline they have standards and guarantee the rooms to be AT LEAST CLEAN... which is a obviously not so. So basically save your money, do the research and book your own rooms... cheaper in the long run...

People!
August 18, 2012

People! If you have had problem with Priceline-like 9 out of 10 people here have this is what you need to do: POST IT EVERYWHERE! On your Facebook page, on twitter and on here too. Tell everyone you know and tell them to share your story. They do not care about their customers and practice deceptive advertising. Every time you share your story here or on your own page, ALL of your friends and all of THEIR friends can see it. It is called "reach" and once enough people understand how Priceline rips people off they will begin to feel it where it counts- in their bottom line. There are 225,000 people who "liked" their page. Posts can show up on their news-feed. We need to spread the word. We personally spent over $10,000 on business travel this year so far for our employees. Priceline is fine with saying F. U. to us over $350 for misleading and deceptive information. They just don't give a &^% about their customers. They count on the fact that many people who use them are just occasional travelers. They think they are "too big to fail". Only when they understand the value of their customers and repeat business will they change their lying and deceptive ways. That or a class action lawsuit. Make your voice be heard! TELL EVERYONE your experience. Our recent experience was with a name your price hotel. The hotel booked was in a different city than selected. 12 miles away from the area we chose. Their response was F-U all the way. They lost a customer who spends a lot of money on travel every year over $350! They truly do not care one bit about their customers or providing customer service. The world needs to know.

Priceline is HORRIBLE when it comes to service and its "change"/"cancellation" policies. BEWARE -- ONCE YOU HIT "SUBMIT" THERE IS NO GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK! And, to make things worse, if you rebook a room and agree to pay the $25.00 cancellation fee (that they claim is doing YOU a favor), you can't request 2 queen beds at the Ramada Inn in Poway or they will cancel your reservation -- just happened to me TODAY! I can not recommend Priceline or the Ramada Inn in Poway and if you talk to someone named Joy at the Ramada Inn in Poway BEWARE -- if you even hint at the ridiculousness of an upcharge for two queens vs. a king (even if you are traveling with kids or someone you don't want to share a bed with), she will cancel your reservation citing "problems prior to your stay" as the reason for doing so. Needless to say, I am going to be driving back and forth from Temecula to San Diego the whole weekend for early soccer games because of NO PLACE to stay. Thanks Priceline and Ramada Poway, you are two class act organizations -- NOT!

Horrible customer service. Long story short, priceline gave us a "good rate" then 2 days later after we drove over 400 miles, priceline emails us at 11 pm at night as we pull into town saying the reservation was cancelled. We call priceline and they "attempt to find us a new hotel" and claim there is nothing for an 80 mile radius, then hang up on my wife and I with our 2 year old daughter in a random new town. As we drive through town, we see several hotels with vacancy, and we find our hotel down the road, and the hotel tells us they kept the reservation for us, and there are extra rooms available and that priceline never called them to confirm the cancellation or in an attempt to see if any other rooms were open. My wife, the lady working at the hotel, and I all try to call priceline and are unable to find a way to talk to any person, just machines. My wife finally gets a hold of someone and I ask them if they even called the hotel we had the reservations at to see if they had any rooms available. They say "no, it wasnt their responsability", and I ask to talk to his supervisor, and he claims he "is the highest on the ladder". I tell him "you seriously have no supervisor? No boss above you? And you are answering phones?" I then go on to say "So your the $#*!ing CEO of priceline because there is no one $#*!ing above you at all that I can talk to?"

We come to find, they reason why PRICELINE not the hotel cancelled our reservations is because Priceline gave us a deal of buy 2 nights get 1 free, and the hotel told us that the hotel never signed up for that deal, and priceline had done this in the past to other customers at the same hotel. The lady at the hotel was nice enough to let us stay a third night for free and honored pricelines deal out of the kindness of her heart because by now it was 3 am. I wont name the hotel so I dont get her in trouble, but Thank you much to her.
