The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

All the other sites (booking.com, kayak.com) tell you there's no refund if you book. What does priceline say?
"For the room type you've selected, you can cancel your reservation up until noon on Wednesday, July 3rd (local hotel time), however the hotel requires payment for the first night's stay. You will be charged for the first night's stay including taxes and fees. Any remaining amount will be refunded to you.
Refunds or cancellations are not available after noon local hotel time on your day of arrival (Wednesday, July 3rd)."
In other words, it's NOT refundable.
We're adults. Just tell us. Don't loophole us with all this fine print. Tell us this bogus date to cancel per the hotel's policy. It doesn't matter. I can't even tell you how deceptive this is---"you can cancel, sure, no problem, but you will be charged." What are we, idiots?
I'M NEVER EVER USING PRICELINE AGAIN. CHEATERS. LIARS. DECEIVERS.
Priceline successfully ruined my vacation. Both myself and my finance attempted to book rooms for our travel using their"book it now" option. To our surprise we received a message that our "offer" was not accepted. This was the price they listed for hotels. Not only did we not get rooms but they placed holds on our accounts effectively leaving us with no funds for our vacation. This was a terrible experience. To me this should have been a simple issue to remedy but there is no way to contact an actual person within the company. Now I am left without a vacation and a finance that is inconsolable.
On 6/24/2013 I made a Name Your Price reservation on the Priceline website. I requested a 4-star hotel and named my price. Priceline returned a Double Tree hotel at the price I selected. The hotel that was accepted is definitely not a 4-star hotel; however, Priceline has it listed as a 4-star hotel. In the description of hotel star ratings on the Priceline website, the Double Tree is provided as a example of a hotel at the 3-star and 3 and 1/2 star level. It is not listed as an example as a 4-star hotel. Hilton is a 4-star hotel not Double Tree (operated by Hilton). Because the hotel rating conflicts with their own description of hotels and the company was grossly misleading, I requested a full refund. I spoke with two customer service representatives who said they were unable to process the request. Additionally, I asked that they apply their Best Price Guarantee to my reservation as I paid $145/night through Priceline and the Double Tree hotel website quotes a price of $139/night. The second representative I spoke with, Sujey M., said that she looked up the room rate online and found a rate of $169/night as the lowest rate. I took a screen shot of the rate from the Double Tree website on my computer and offered to email it to her; she said I could not do that. I also asked if we could call the hotel to clarify and she said it had to be online pricing only. Priceline grossly misrepresented the Double Tree as a 4-star hotel (conflicting with their description online) and they refused to honor the pricing guarantee.
Priceline is unreliable, and has terrible customer service. I have never received such poor customer service in my life. My boyfriend and I missed a best friends wedding because of the airlines. Priceline refused to find us another flight and give us a refund. They are a scam! Don't ever use them.
If you are looking for a service provider offering discount travel packages, I would recommend that you visit priceline.com. Since the rates were too good to be true, I compared it with other websites of the niche and even went through its review. I even took the opportunity to speak with customer service professionals who assured that they are indeed a genuine site and provide the best deals on travel. Their packages even comprise of hotels, cars, cruises and other activities that might garner your attention. I would recommend their top services to one and all.
Priceline has a 50 dollar hidden fee!
I booked a package (hotel+airticket) through priceline because they claim that they save you money. What they actually do is steal your money!
The receipt of the hotel was 50 dollars lower than what I paid them for. And they claim that is because the hotel, on the receipt, charges the wholesale price... but if that 50 dollars were not on the hotel receipt it means that the hotel didn't get them, so Priceline kept them for themself as an hidden fee.
The customer service was not helpful in explaining the issue. They simply kept copy/pasting the same "customer satisfaction is our priority" message without giving me details about my case (even if I was very clear in all the details).
Moreover, since I booked through them, I could not get my HHonors points! So they stole my money, they stole my points and they were NOT cheaper than booking from the hotel website directly (as I realized too late unfortunately). Stay away from Priceline!
Terrible do not use priceline its a ripoff you think you are getting a decent hotel room and they are the bottom of the barrell. Disgusting hotel even though only. Paid 75 per night not worth 10 buck OMG stinks like smoke tub nasty could go on and on I learned my lesson anything that sounds too good to be true is!
Watch out Priceline is a nasty crooked group. I purchased a hotel room via priceline express deals (not name your own price) and realized I needed a hotel closer by so I booked with another hotel as well via priceline express deals and I also purchased trip interruption insurance thinking that I could cancel. NEVER PURCHASE TRIP INTERRUPTION INSURANCE it does not enable you to cancel and price line turns your claim over to a 3rd party who only pays a portion of the insurance. I have used priceline for years without a problem but they got me big time on this one. They would not let me cancel either reservation even though the hotel did process the canelation. I disputed the charge on my credit card and it was removed only to have priceline place the charge again. SNEAKY and SLEAZY should be priceline's name. And to hell with you William Shatner for supporting these crooks.
I booked a car through priceline, and when I got to the location over 1400 miles away, the rental company refused to rent the car to be because I was using a prepaid card. So here I am 1400 miles away from home with no car, I booked the reservation with the card that I was picking it up with, Priceline had no indicators that the prepaid card might be an issue, they have no problem stating about the holds that the company could place on your card but not that a prepaid card could not be used, I contacted Priceline and the only thing they offered was a refund. I was stuck at the airport with no car. What an embarrassment. I contacted family finally to help and tried to get priceline to make and adjustment on who's name it was under and they refused. What kind of customer Service is that. I will never use Priceline, and will be telling all that I know of this experience.
My attempt to book flights on PriceLine was one of the most frustrating experiences I have had in 30 years of doing business on the web. I use FireFox on an iMac which works well for all other online transactions. However my attempt to book a flight through PriceLine was an aggravating total failure. I found it easy to enter all the necessary data on Priceline page but there was no "Enter" or "Confirm" or "Next" or similar button visible anywhere. When I moved away from that page and returned all the information I put in was gone. There was no way of knowing if I actually booked the flight. Had I been charged? - were they sending me an email? - attempting to reach Priceline by phone proved futile. Eventually I contacted my bank, blocked any charges from Priceline, and obtained my tickets instead through the airline web page. Hope this helps others avoid the same problem.
Terrible customer service and deceiving practices when using the name your own price feature. I was given pricing guidance by the site that the average cost of a 3 star hotel room was $599. When i entered an offer of $99, the site accepted my offer and gave me a Best Western hotel for $99/ night that would have cost $85 retail if i had booked on the best western website. When i complained and asked for a cancellation, i was told there was nothing that could be done and i was stuck. Unethical and rude, the deal was bad and customer service was worse! Will never go back!
I booked a flight thru Priceline at the end of March, purchased Travel Insurance as well, in case anything came up. What a waste of time and money! My trip was cancelled, Priceline refused to help me and the Travel insurance told me the only way I was eligible for a refund was if I was dead, was injured on my way to the airport, lost my job, etc... Since none of these applied, I get nothing. I had to call the Airline myself to cancel the flight (after 4 calls to the Travel Insurance and to Priceline). I now have a credit with the airline (cuz they don't refund when tickets are bought thru Priceline), plus I have to use it within the next 10 months, pay an addt $150 change flight fee, which is normal, and also a $50 re-issue fee. I WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN. It's more stress and aggrivation than it's worth.
I reserved a rental car through Priceline. Within a few days I started getting emails from Hotwire, they had much better rates. Priceline offers a rate quarantee, but it has to be at the same rental agency for the same dates and times. I actually checked with the car rental agency a week before our trip, and they were cheaper than priceline. I did get a refund of the difference plus $25.00 but I was on the phone for 45 minutes to get it.
Horrible. It is almost impossible to reach someone at customer service when you need assistance. They charge outrageous fee for any corrections to your tickets. Never purchase through priceline
WARNING: Priceline will not consider credit. I was not asking for a refund or exchange. All I was asking was credit to use a rental car at a later day. The only thing Priceline offered was a bonus certificate of up to $25.00. Therefore, I have to pay again when I decide to rent a car in the future. I lose out on what they charged me already for the rental car I reserved, which I cannot and could not rent due to an unforeseen circumstance, a family emergency. I understand they have a policy and a contract with rental places like Budget rental car, but because customers like me give them business, they would not take in consideration and offer good customer service so customers will continue to use this service. I will never use Priceline again and wanted to share this with everyone my bad experience with them so no one will get victimized like I did.
Only go to priceline if you want to get the worst flight times available. Their website will give you the flights but if you bundle a rental car with it they pick the flight. This option locks you in without seeing your flight and with no refund options. You are better off buying your airline ticket and car rental by themselves and paying slightly more. This will get you much better flight times than the hope that their price will give you a good flight time that ends up locking you into a rotten one
My hubby and I were going on a day trip to DC. So I booked a mystery hotel at the great price through priceline.com, happened to be Marriott in DC area, when I called the hotel they told me I would have to pay an additional $40 for parking (almost half of the stay!) and no breakfast was included in the booking price.
So I called the priceline.com and tried to see if anything could be done about the issue. Calls are answered somewhere in Phillipins, by the way, first rep hang up on me, I called back and second rep was being a total smart*ss; he said to me: if you don't want to pay for the parking then don't drive a car! OR get dropped off, REALLY?!
And when I asked how is it that they charged $40 for parking, he said: well you go to the counter, hand them you card and they charge it. Well thank you for clearing that out for me!
Anyway, the company, located in CT, is a SCAM outsourcing jobs overseas. If anything ever goes wrong don't expect to get any help or refund. Terrible customer service.
I could have gotten a hotel for the same price with the breakfast and free parking for the same price. Not a great deal after all!
I used Priceline to book a room at a Hampton Inn. I didn't bid anything. Just picked it off a list of hotels with the prices listed. It said "guaranteed lowest price".
I relied on that and booked the room.
When I checked into the hotel I was advised that I would not receive Hilton Honors points for the stay, and that I could have booked the room directly with the hotel for $11 less per night.
I called Priceline, and after 42 minutes of "research" into several different areas, I was informed that Priceline has no control over points policy and that they could not refund $11 because I had already checked into the room.
You can be sure I will not be using Priceline again.
I booked a vacation, with my mother in law, to San Antonio to see my husbands Air Force graduation. We bought EVERYTHING through them. Hotel, flight, rental car... and we also purchased insurance on everything. Before I even attempted to purchase the package, I talked to 2 different customer service reps, asking exactly what the insurance entailed. I explained that I needed a package that could change because the military has no guarantees. His graduation was liable to change at any moment. Of course, the reps told me that as long as I bought the insurance, I could cjange my package, or get a refund. Low and behold, a few days ago, I get a call from my husband saying, I've broken my leg, they have me in medical hold... im not graduating. So, I got ahold of Priceline's customer service and explained why I needed to get a refund. Yano what they told me? I'm sorry, that's not part of our policy. We MIGHT be able to give you a refund for the car, and possibly the hotel, but irs unlikely. So... I'm out $1500 for this trip, and I won't even get to use it. And they won't help me out at all. So what is the insurance for?!?! Absolutely nothing, except for making them money. I will NEVER use their services again. And I WILL be suing them. 2 reps lied to me about my package and being able to change it, they took my money and I'm not even using their services. I'm disgusted. This wasn't a vacation. This was a family going to a US AIRMAN'S GRADUATION!
Name the price you're willing to pay for airline tickets, hotels, rental cars, vacations, or cruises. There's no guarantee your offer will be accepted, but if it is, you will save some serious money!
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
