Priceline Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

We used 'name your price' for 'up to 60% discount' on a hotel in Manhattan. What we got was MORE than the full price charged by the 'best' match. So I had to call priceline.com and after 3 reps and a couple of hours, the best they could do was to refund us the difference to get us DOWN to FULL price. That was it. Never again!

I used priceline to book a hotel for one night stay. It turns out that the hotel will be charging additional 26% resort and parking fee over my booking price. It will be charged even I don't have a car nor using any of the resort facilities. Priceline did have a disclaimer about possible resort fees. But it never mentioned the exact amount nor percentage. They have you agree upon an undisclosed amount in fine print and you can't cancel the booking once you are trapped. What a scam!

DO NOT USE PRICELINE. IT'S THE BIGGEST SCAM! I USED THE NEGOTIATOR AND WOUND UP WITH THE WRONG FLIGHT. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED PRICELINE AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY A $150.00 CANCELLATION FEE. THAT'S HOW THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY. THEY WON'T EVEN LISTEN TO REASON. I WAS A LOYAL PRICELINE USER 5-10/YEAR. NEVER AGAIN!

The sales staff are not able to do anything. I made a mistake of booking one night instead of two and they want to charge me an additional $25 to stay an extra night? That is absolute ridiculous. I've been on the phone with them for more than an hour and all they do is keep transferring me to different departments with no ability to do anything! I will never use this company again and I will make sure to inform my friends and family. I know websites like these have restrictions, but Hotwire is such a better site! They care more about their customers. Who would be against a customer who wants to book an extra night and give you their money?!

I booked a room that said there were no cancelation fees, so when I called to cancel one night since I wouldn't be able to make it they repeadtedly told me that my entire trip was non-refundable and that I could not cancel. Also that if I didnt show up the day of the reservation it would be canceled and I would still be charged. My husband is an activity duty marine and because of a deployment I was needing to cancel. All they would say is "well you read the policy and initialed". Even though I have multiple screen shots on my phone PROVING that the room was able to be canceled. Worst site ever! Total scam, rude, unsympathetic people, nor do they care about our military

Went on Priceline's website and utilized "Name Your Own Price" option. Requested a 3 1/2 star hotel along with location of either Torrance, CA or Carson, CA. Post purchase was informed by Priceline that I got only a 3 star hotel and also placed in a totally different city - Wilmington, CA which is considered a bad area. I would never stay in this are willingly. Called Priceline, and they stated that they would do me the big favor of letting me cancel for a cancellation fee. WHAT A SHAM! BEWARE!

This was the first and last time i will use this site. I booked a room with them at Mrytle Beach and they failed to mention it was a private owner. I got to the hotel at 8pm to be told i had to drive 20 minutes just to get my key for my room. They didnt tell me about the $85 cleaning charge the rental company was charging me either. The booking was very misleading and i will never book with priceline again.

I recently used Priceline name your own Price. Not completely understanding the disclosers I had by accident booked a hotel with them. I had assumed you would get a final say before they would book you. They had booked me in North Long Beach. If you are unaware North Long Beach is notorious for being one of these worst neighborhoods you can go to in Los Angeles. It's filled with extremely dangerous gangs such as the crypts, bloods, and MS13. It's very high in prostitution trafficking as well as drugs. It's in creditably dangerous for anyone to go to. Most locals will not even drive down there. If you were to Google. Long Beach Boulevard in the 2nd result will come up with Long Beach Boulevard prostitutes. Now I had booked this 7 months in advance. As soon as I noticed that it booked me in a hotel I did not completely agree with going to and took my money I called them not even 5 minutes later after this happen. They would not help me whatsoever and told me there is nothing they could do. They felt it was more important to them not to help me then their customers safety. I tried exchanging it with a different hotel and would be whiling to pay extra money. I was whiling to do anything but they refused anything. I would never go through this company you don't get a final say and you do not know exactly where this hotel is located or the conditions of the hotel before you get a final say in anything once you search and it books you it's all over.

I booked a trip through priceline and they never gave me my ground transportation voucher, Called them from the hotel after PAYING for a cab. They sent it and was very unsympathetic about the issue. I went on and enjoyed my vacation. When It was time to leave I called for my transportation, Theytold me to catch a cab because they were not informed of having a pick up at The MGM. I called Priceline form the cab and told them I wanted my money back... FROM THE CAB... They were rude,,, put me on hold and came back to the phone and stated that they did not give refunds. I told them That was bull@#$##!... I never used the service and I wanted my money back... Never Ever will I use PRICELINE again!

The website will only let you order six tickets at a time. I needed 7 so I had to do two orders. The price was 363.59 per ticket for the first order. Within seconds I ordered the next ticket the price showed 429.59. I had no choice but to make two orders. After speaking with customer service (who was rude) she said there was nothing they could do even though each ticket had the same offer id numbers. I had never used Priceline... my BIG mistake. I am surprised that the reviews on this sight do not correspond with the other review sights... kinda makes you wonder. Never again. Please go elsewhere...

BE WARE!
March 19, 2013

BE WARE! NEVER USE THIS SITE FOR BOOKING! THEY ARE A SCAM! When i used the "name your own price" bid to get an idea of hotels i could get at that price, they automatically reserved a hotel for me that i won't even stay at. Knowing that i called them right away hoping to get someone to help me since the reservation was just made no more than 5 minutes from calling them, i was told over and over and over again that i read their conditions, etc... then i was transferred to another CSR and was repeatedly told the same thing! I felt like someone banged on my head multiple times when all i wanted was a solution. When i asked to speak to a supervisor they told me that no one can help me. I will never use priceline.com ever again! FALSE ADVERTISING!

We were taking a trip to visit my parents. We submitted a bid for 3 nights lodging in a specific town that was 15 minutes away from my parent's residence. Priceline booked us in a hotel 30 miles away from the town we selected. When we protested that it was not in the town we asked for, Priceline refused to change it or give us a refund. They only would offer a $10 credit towards our next bid. Which leaves us driving 45 minutes one way to our destination each day we are staying at the hotel.

I made a reservation thru Priceline.com on a Hotel then realized a few days later that the date we chose was Easter Weekend. I called asking if we could change the date, I wasn't asking for a refund. They said no, So I asked if I could speak with a supervisor? I was told they would tell me the same thing. I then said, will I guess you just got $177.00 from me... She said: "yes, and I'm very sorry"... REALLY! I wont be using Priceline ever again... there are many other "price" cutting websites. Which, by the way the rates weren't that great? I did call the Hotel they told me since I used a Thrid Party to place the reservations they couldn't do anything. I didin't want a REFUND! Just to change the DATE! Come on when do we as customers get a break.

Price line is running a commercial about how you can check to see if they are pet friendly hotel before you bid. Well dont waste your time cause i did. Customer service will spend 3 days sending you emails about how they dont know which hotel you mite get when you bid so it may be one that doesnt allow pets and you will waste your money on a reservation you cant use.

I used priceline because I was going to Thialand it though it would be easier to use them instead of going directly thru hotel in foreign country. The reservation was basically the same price either way, so I was not saving any money by using them. My first issue was I need to change the dates of my reservation, priceline had stated the cancellation policy, which I undertood but had no information about the change policy. When I inquired with pricline they said there was no information because changes were not possible. They balmed this on the hotel. I decided to go thru with my original reservation, but inquired at the hotel as to their change policy. They stated that It would be no problem changing my reservation if I had booked directly thru them, but priceline would not allow any changes. My second issue came when it was time to checkout. Priceline had not paid the hotel for my room even thought I had been billed by Priceline the month before. So, I had had to pay the hotel too, before departing. I am currently working with Priceline resolve this matter. I am an experienced business traveler who will never use priceline again.

Customer service is NIL. I think the customer service is one of those hire out to foreign countries because none of their agents can speak English or understand you if you speak English. There are hidden fees on Priceline so BUYER BEWARE. They won't trell you before, you discover them on your bank statements when you return from your trip. Customer service resolves issues by telling you one thing and doing something else.

The worst place to book a hotel, they are misleading and dishonest. Do not believe what you see on their webpage, they will get you no matter how. I was a victim of their bad ethics and worst of all they did not care. There are many other sites to book a ticket or a hotel, do not be a victim of priceline.com
