The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

Two of our party independently searched this website for a hotel in Cameron, Arizona. We found a choice and booked it. When we arrived in Cameron, AZ there was no hotel by the name that we had booked. When I called the number of the hotel we found out it was in Cameron, Missouri. Spoke with two customer service reps at the hotel and at priceline. Both were very apologetic but wouldn't do anything to resolve the issue. We were stuck with the hotel charges for two nights plus we had to scramble for another hotel. The clerk at the hotel in Cameron, AZ said this wasn't the first time this had happened. WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE.COM AGAIN. Buyer Beware!
Booked a Disney resort, airfare, parking at airport via Priceline... NIGHTMARE
I leave on Friday and nothing but drama already
1. When they made the reservation at Disney it was put in my name only with no guests names listed. I was told by Priceline, Kathy (not her real name but her pseudo American name) that since the room could accommodate up to four, they didn't need to do that and you can only reserve under one name. BS
Disney needs to know all parties in room in order to connect the adult and child's itineraries, magic bands, fast passes etc etc
Kathy never got it and she told me to call Disney and Disney said call priceline... so it continues...
2. This was booked in April for October... my 8 year old child is now given a seat assignment 4 rows from me although Priceline asked me seat choices... I requested she a window and me adjacent... WRONG answer... she is window all right for rows from me... of course, the airline states too bad since I went thru priceline and Priceline states they can't guarantee seats... so, another 120 dollars later I paid to get choice seats via usairways to get me beside my minor child...
Long story short, a deal isn't always a deal... I haven't even left yet and wouldn't recommend priceline to hitler or bin laden or any other hater
I booked a flight on british airways with a BA flight number and BA phone number. In small text at bottom, it said, " operated by Iberia" airlines. I would have shown up at BA terminal had i not called them. There was no detail at all regarding what Iberias role was here. Reason i booked BA was no baggage charge for a surfboard. Iberia however charged me 150 each way, so got hosed. No valid reply from PL at all and get doled out to some sweatshop in phillipines.
My other warning, three out of four times i have used PL to bid on the hotel, got a nice hotel that was either under a major remodel, or the one next was so lots of noise etc. they dont disclose this info.
I wont use these sleazebags again.
I booked a flight using a combined Flight+Car package for $600. I saw the same package for $530.00 TWO DAYS later. I called to ask for a price match, but they refused bluntly saying that I must find the particular flight for a lower price for them to do the match. But how will I know, when the Flight+Car package that is $530.00 does not reveal the airline(which i suspect is the same). THIS IS UNFAIR.
Priceline customer service sucks! They double billed my credit card and won't remove the charge. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and apparently this is a common event for Priceline. Anyway, 6 weeks later, I'm still arguing with Priceline as they disputed my dispute and now I have to start over again. After a lengthy conversation with another Priceline customer service rep, they basically told me to just to sue them as they we're going to help. Unfortunately it's not that easy to sue Priceline as you have to sue them in CT. Simply put, book direct and don't use Priceline as they are very unethical and don't care about you after the sale. Please feel free to post this anywhere you'd like as I have the evidence to prove my case. I even recorded my conversation with the Priceline customer service rep. DON'T USE PRICELINE!
I just returned from a 9 day trip. I stayed the first 3 nights at Music Road Inn in Pigeon Forge, TN for a conference related to my job. This was not booked by Priceline. I did use Priceline to rent a car from Hertz. I chose to pay the extra for full coverage insurance for the 9 days. After the 3 day conference, my Fiance' and I drove to Reidsville, NC to visit the site of her ancestors and speak with her relatives. We went on line before we left the conference and reserved a room in the area for two nights. When we arrived to check in, we first asked how much a room would be for 2 nights. They told us the exact same amount Priceline said. I then asked about discounts for Disabled Veterans. They gave me a rate that was considerably better than Priceline. After that, we just looked up the rate on Priceline but did not reserve it. When we walked in and asked for their cheapest rate, it was less than Priceline. While on this trip we received notice from home that my Fiance's 73 year old brother had been rushed to the hospital. We cut our trip short and returned home early. I called Hertz and asked if I turned in the car early would we be refunded the last 2 days. They said yes. When I took the car back they refunded the 2 days plus an additional discount. I called Priceline, who I paid the full coverage insurance fee to, and asked about them refunding the 2 days I didn't use. The cost for this coverage was $11 per day for 9 days, or $99. The refund would only have been $22. Since the lady told me she had no way to authorize the refund, I asked to speak to someone who might have a way. She connected me to a man who said he could not refund the $22. He asked what the emergency was and I explained. He repeated, he could not refund the $22. This was my first experience with Priceline. I don't know what the rental would have been on the car without them. I do know that all the rooms we stayed in were cheaper without Priceline. I also know that $22 in not much to loose a future customer over.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with all the other negative comments regarding Priceline. We have been travelling for six months now and have used Priceline on many occasions. We have experienced everything that many others have complained about: you get the worst room in the hotel, often by the lift and vending machines, you are not able to specify what beds you would like and hidden charges for parking etc are not disclosed. Weighing everything up, we still thought it was worth taking a chance to help save on costs. However, the final straw was when we booked a hotel in Barcelona on name your own price. I bid $90 (plus tax, making a total of $107.86).
I then discovered the hotel we had been given only charged $73 (tax inc) for the same room!
I contacted priceline and asked if they would be prepared to refund the difference but they aren't.
This makes me feel that name your own price is a complete scam! The whole point is to hopefully get a hotel at less than the published price as you are taking a chance on not knowing which hotel you will get. Priceline advertise that you can make savings of up to 60% on the published price with name your own price and I ended up paying 45% more! Goodness knows how many other times this has happened as we don't normally have reason to check.
I am not prepared to pay more than the going rate for a, normally substandard, room. For this reason I will not be using priceline again and would suggest that others use caution if using name your own price which clearly does not do what it claims to do.
We've used Priceline many times and find that it offers us a price advantage almost every time. Great service. Look for a hotel with free cancellation. Travel internationally? Look for Ibis hotels for a smaller, efficient, but clean room at a reasonable price.
This is the worse company for customer service. Booked a room, one week later needed to cancel. They had one and half months to rebook. There was no way room would not rent out again. They said go ahead cancel but we cannot give you anything back, no credit for another room, nothing.
The worst customer service I've ever experienced. Will never use the service again. I booked a room at JFK. I was given a hole in the wall room far down the beaten (isolated industrial area in Ozone Park) path. The reviews of this hotel are awful. I am on a limited budget and can not afford to rebook. Was willing to upgrade but was not allowed to. My husband has asthma and all the rooms including the non-smoking ones stunk like smoke. The area is totally not safe. I cannot understand why priceline lists this hotel with so many in the area. Will NEVER even think about using Priceline again!
Double charged me for a one night stay at a hotel! Very horrible customer service.
If possible 0 star. Price line is total scan... you don't get what you see online. I used name your own price, got 3 star hotel in Toronto near air port for $65. Reception gave me surprise saying their parking is free but I have booked from price line I got charged for parking $15! Wtf... so.$65+$15(tax)+15(parking)=$95! Wow... I would get cheaper price if I would have just walk in to any 3 star in that area. Also hotel said because I am price line customer they will charge me for breakfast also which is free for their all guest but not for price line customers. I will never buy any thing from price line again.
I booked a trip to Vegas a few months ago and had to cancel it due to a medical emergency backed up by a doctor's note faxed directly to Priceline. Upon cancelling the trip, I was told that the value of my airfare could be used on any future (within a year) Priceline booking. Because I'd originally booked with Priceline. Makes sense right? Well apparently, as outlined in the followup email they sent me (but NOT in the phone call!) I can only use that credit on VIRGIN flights because my original trip had been Virgin flights.
Now, Priceline holds that credit, Virgin has nothing to do with it and doesn't care where I use the credit, but because of Priceline's STUPID "policy" they will only let me use the credit for Virgin flights! This is a HUGE ISSUE because Virgin only flies to like ten cities, NOT including Houston which is the only place I plan to go in the next year! And nobody will fix it!
Not to mention ALL of the representatives say "there's nothing that can be done" and when asked to speak to a higher supervisor they just say the only thing I can do is WRITE A LETTER to their customer service mailing address. THAT WILL TAKE FOREVER!
AND one of the representatives I talked to hung up on me, and another was EXTREMELY snotty, kept interrupting me and talked down to me like I was stupid when I've spent about FIVE hours on the damn phone about this issue. I WILL NOT drop it.
PRICELINE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. DO NOT BOOK USING PRICELINE.COM. THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO SCREW YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY.
Priceline is a scam. Their name your own price never really works and if you buy insurance they will find any excuse not to honor it. I tried to use them and then was told that even though I bought cancellation insurance, I would not be able to cancel and that if I wished to alter my travel arrangements it would be an additional $400 fee. Yep, Four Hundred. Their customer service is non-existent. When you call, you get a crackly horrible connection for someone who rarely identifies themselves and then transfers you immediately. You just get passed back and forth to phone reps who obviously don't care or have the tools to help you. There is no email address to contact them anywhere on the site and when I tried their contact us comments section, I got an email back saying that they didn't get my full message and there for couldn't help me. There are too many other travel sites out there to support a company as deceitful and greedy as Priceline.
Booked through Priceline.com requested a 2 1/2 3 star hotel in the Asheville, NC area. Offered $75.00 a night. Bid was accepted and it was for a Baymont Suites. In no way a Baymont Suites is a 2 1/2 3 star hotel, especially with outside entrances. Called and asked them to switch to another hotel in the area and would pay more and they said we had to stick with what we got. Called back and told them we could reserve directly from Baymont Suites at a lower rate and they agreed to give a credit for the difference. Arrived and the hotel was be remodeled. Stained bed linens, dead bugs in the window, cigarette burns on the chair and painters tape around the door knob and along the trim area. Horrible rooms, they both reaked of cigarette smoke and they were unable to move us to non smoking rooms. Totally sucked. I will NEVER use PRICELINE.COM again!
Booked through price line. Got to the hotel which was totally misrepresented. On their site it had very good reviews but as we neared the address the family and I began to get the feeling we would not be happy. It was in an industrial area that was surrounded by legions of semi trucks with hookers and other unsavory characters wandering around. We cautiously exited our vehicle hoping to make it to the lobby without being mugged or solicited by prostitutes for sinful purposes. When inside it didn't look too bad but then the clerk informed me we had booked a smoking room. We did not book a smoking room as our daughter has asthma and we didn't intend on trying to kill her. The clerk stated they had no other rooms as it was employees weekend and they were full. We agreed to try and take our chances with the room because it was late afternoon and our options were limited financially and otherwise. Upon opening the door to the room our noses were lambasted by a smell a hungry bear would have rejected. We hacked it out for the night waking up to a sick daughter, luckily not the asthma. She threw up before we could get out of there but to be fair she does have a weak stomach. We bit the bullet, left and got a hotel somewhere else. After trying to get a refund of course we have had no success. Beware when you book through this company.
Zero stars if possible. I booked a short stay in Monterey, CA through priceline. I did the express deal where you choose a certain location and price point, but the hotel is a surprise till after your credit card is authorized and debited.
After finding out my Hotel it was Americas Value in Seaside CA. OK nothing wrong with location or hotel... so I thought. I decided to look up the hotel on YELP.com, to find out the place has bedbugs. Not just 1 complaint in the past but several and 1 complaint was left 1 day ago.
Disgusted that priceline would even use such a place I called them to Cancel and re-reserve elsewhere not picky as long as its bug free. I called within 30mins of making the reservation and paying to Cancel and the trip was more then 2 weeks away. First of all does anyone at Priceline speak English. Hard to understand, rude gave me the run around. Telling me that they could not cancel and that I would have to call the hotel to cancel. They even called the front desk manager at the hotel to ask if they had bed bugs and of course the manager said no. I could tell Sharon from customer service had little to no experience. She couldn't even answer my questions just kept saying the same thing as if she had a rehearsed reply or reading off a prompt. So all in all I had 200.00 debited out of my account and not returned. What a bunch of crooks. I do suggest if this happens to you to quickly call your bank and file a report and a claim to get your money back.
Tried to name my price for a 5 star hotel for $150 on the vegas strip.
I got the Trump. This is arguably 4 or 5 star. It has no casino. It is not on the strip. The rooms also can be bought for less than $150 a night, but regardless I was expecting a Bellagio or Venetian, or a real 5 star hotel.
I contacted them within 5 mins. Of course they spouted BS that I selected vegas strip vicinity etc.
I googled and discovered many people booking vegas hotels have falling for this. Think they're bidding on a high end strip hotel and get the Trump.
Priceline as usual would not offer me credit, or let me pay a penalty. They would not help me in anyway.
My credit card company called them and they were just as annoying. My credit card company gave me credit.
Would NEVER do business with Priceline. Stay away from these scammers.
Expensive rates, false advertising, charged me twice, never been reimbursed.
I booked a hotel room with them, supposingly a great deal at 211$. When we arrived at the hotel, we learned that the hotel rate was 168$ per night at the front desk and I was charged that price at the check out. When I got home, I noticed I had been charged also a second time by Priceline for 211 $ and inspite many contacts with its customer service, Priceline refuses to reimburse me.
Terrible customer service and false advertising as they pretend on their website that: "We pride ourselves on two things: getting you the best deal for the things
You need and providing excellent service."
I am not the only complaining about their illegal practices, so before making a reservation through them, please read: http://mythreecents.com/showReview.cgi?id=*******
Horrible customer service I will never use Priceline again. I wanted to change my date from Thursday to Wednesday still staying four nights. The person had no idea what I wanted because he spoke from a script. It would have been a simple correction but instead I had to get another hotel for the Wednesday stay, move to another location on Thursday WHAT AN INCONVIENCE. I use to be faithful to Priceline but no more I am done. The outsourcing did it.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
