I booked a hotel room. 3 days before check in I had a medical emergency happen. I called the hotel to cancel the room they said " we will be happy to cancel it without any fees or charges but since I booked through priceline I needed to call them so I did. Priceline told me to cancel it would cost me 1 nights room rent and $137.00 penalty. I said the hotel was willing to cancel for free. They said hold on we will call them to verify this. They put me on a 30 second hold and said the hotel did not say that. They never had time to even call them let alone talk to them. So buyer beware priceline is a scam.

I rented a car and Priceline gave me an estimate of $186USD, the car which was via Avis ended up being $580USD

Just book direct with the rental company and get a full breakdown of costs.

Bad hotel
May 18, 2023

I booked a room at Ramada Inn by Wyndham in Sacramento California. I arrived at 10 pm. There were sketchy people hanging around the entrance and lobby. The clerk was behind a cage. The room was down two long dim hallways and it smelled of stale cigarettes, was dim and dingy and needed to be remodeled. I left. I had to fight for a refund from Priceline who claimed my problem was with the hotel, not them, even though my credit card was charged prior to the check in.
After much shaming and threatening, my credit card was credited, but first they charged my card a second time " by error".

I give zero stars. This company is of NO help or assistance. I booked a flight then found out I have a health issue that will not allow me to fly. I did not even need a refund. I just asked to change the ticket to my son's name so the ticket can be used and no refund needed. This was requested to ensure that my son's seat will be with my husband's. Nobody with this company speaks English well enough to communicate with people who live in America and speak English. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I have spoken to United Airlines and been told that one Priceline purchases the discounted tickets, they immediately change the policy on refunds and name changes. Do NOT use Priceline.

Why would anyone use this service if they can't even assist you to answer a question as a new customer without first having booked a non-refundable rental? What if I don't want it after the question is answered?
I don't understand this logic but I'm very sorry I wasted an hour of my life when I could have just booked it on Orbitz.

BEWARE of making "typo" errors when booking through Priceline
I reserved a hotel on Priceline, however, I made a "typo" error and reserved a hotel for a wrong date. I rebooked the (same) hotel on Priceline for the correct date and stayed the night. The hotel NOR Priceline would not cancel the the date I made in error. I realize the hotel through Priceline has a no cancellation policy, however I found out the hardway, that "typo" errors on Priceline will cost you. Up to now, I have been a very frequent user of Priceline and am a VIP status member. As of now, I am removing the Priceline application from my phone and am switching to another booking agency. PLEASE BEWARE... if you make "typo" errors when booking through Priceline. IT WILL COST YOU!

Dealing with Priceline has been a nightmare. I had a trip booked and my mother passed away so I could not complete it. I was given credit for an American future flight which has proven essentially worthless. I have tried to rebook a ticket with my $225 credit and every flight Priceline gives me, there is a "difference" of over $250- $500 I would need to pay. I have been on America's direct website and I can fly cheaper without my credit- how does this make sense? I should not be able to book cheaper on the same airline with no credit than I can with Priceline using a credit. They are a predatory company, steer clear.

We chose a Jeep or similar. However it always says similar to any car you want to rent. We went to Park City and it was winter so there was plenty of snow! They gave us a truck! We have two kids and a have luggage with us. Of course we don't want a truck in a snowy condition. We refused the truck and we got a SUV for a lot of money. We didn't have a choice. We were disappointed and will never use Priceline to rent a car because your not sure what kind of vehicle your gonna get and if you don't accept whatever they give you they charge you with more money for the vehicle you like!

First time using them, attempted to book a flight for 5 people that totaled $2,218. I entered all the info to book, clicked "book flight" and received a message that the flight was no longer available. I went back, found another flight for a few bucks more, entered the info and was again told "this flight is no longer available. I went to the airline site to book tne same flights, at the exact same;price (interesting I know!), of course the flight was available but my card was declined. I log in to check my credit card account and Priceline has two $900 payments that have been removed and one for $1,600, I called Priceline and the person on the phone stated the $900 was to ensure payment was available, I asked why they needed to know whats available when the flight was not. Then when asked about the $1,600 payment, she stated "we will GIVE you your money back in 1 business day"... thing is why did you steal my moniey out of my account when the flight wasn't available? First and last time and I will be sharing this insight with everyone I know, They have bascially triggered the fraud alert on my account so there is nothing I can do until I call my credit card company in the morning. Save yourself! Just book with the airline, the price was the same AND available smh.

Hotel nightmare!
April 30, 2023

I booked a hotel room with through priceline. I was visiting family for a funeral in Montgomery, Alabama. As soon as I started to put the key into the keypad, I noticed the fingerprints dried food. I almost did not enter. When I did, I stepped into the hotel room, and my shoe stuck to the bottom to the floor as there were sticky stuff on the floor the room smelled horrible! I did not go further. I exited and went to the desk in front and told them that I wanted to cancel. Once I spoke to the gentleman, he said I had to go through Priceline because I had booked through priceline. This was on April 14 today is April 30 and I have been getting the runaround since day one from priceline to cancel my reservation and get my money back. Priceline insists that there's nothing that they can do. When you call Lynn, you speak to people from the Philippines. Apparently Priceline does not maintain their business in the USA. For me, that's a problem. When speaking to one of the representatives he was very rude, interrupted me as I was trying to talk to him just kept telling me there was nothing he can do and if the hotel does not accept the refund then I will just have to accept it. I do not accept that kind of customer service or lack of. I encourage you to stay away from priceline because what I have gone through is very stressful and frustrating and you have to go through it with everyone that you speak with at Priceline is even more tiring. Priceline gets a zero minus. As well as the best American inn in Montgomery, Alabama. I was forced to give them a star in order to enter my review. I want to make it known that they get zero meaning no stars at all they don't even deserve half of a star.

BEWARE-Right Cars CHARGES A FEE IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 500K in liability. I have rented so many cars in Orlando and never had to pay an additional charge for that. Terrible that Priceline allows this one company on its site as an option and you have to click three different areas to find the disclosure. Bait and switch if you ask me and I will never use priceline again, nor Right Cars. The woman behind us got charged 200 and she canceled the rental and was stuck there. We had no choice, as we needed to get on the road, so the car rental cost was $100 and then we had to pay $105 extra fee so it cost us double. PRICELINE WOULD NOT REFUND SO WE COULD GO ACROSS THE STREET TO A RENTAL CAR COMPANY THAT DID NOT CHARGE THAT RIDICULOUS FEE. Shame on Priceline for not being upfront about this car rental company! I checked every other rental company from the list Priceline showed me and not one had this charge. MAKE SURE YOU ASK AHEAD OF TIME about their insurance charges! We live in NJ and pay the highest car Ins rates in the country, yet this shady company wanted more. Priceline was also NO HELP!

I booked a room for one night through Priceline. I was charged by both the hotel and Priceline. Every time I call Priceline they tell me they cannot reach the hotel yet refuse to give me a refund without speaking to the hotel and asked me not to call the hotel. To add insult to injury, the charge from the hotel was less expensive than what Priceline charged me.

I used Priceline all the time for my business and personal travels, from booking a flight to renting a car. After my horrible recent experience with them, I will never use them again. I called to use my Delta airlines credit and spoke with an agent. I specifically gave her departure and arrival flight details I would like to be on with the date and time of each flight. She put me on another flight departing at a weird time arriving a day earlier at my destination. To make things worse. Without giving all the details on the flights she reserved for me, she gave me the difference I had to pay. She kept asking me if the amount was OK. When I said yes, that is when she gave me the itinerary which was completely different than what I gave her. When I refused that itinerary, she then changed to reservation on the flights I originally requested. The extra $ I had to pay for the correct reservation was even lower than the wrong reservation she made. The extra I had to pay for correct reservation was charged directly by Delta which was the way it should have been. However, the balance for the wrong reservation she made was still charged by Priceline on my Amex. When I called them, they said I confirmed that reservation. I don't even have a reservation confirmation on the wrong one she made but they charged me as if I booked that flight which was the wrong reservation she made even though I gave her specifically the flight I would like to be on. I had to dispute that amount they show from me with American Express and let them deal with those unprofessional people. Never again never!

Nightmare experience
April 22, 2023

First time user of Priceline. Never again. It was a sorry experience from the start. We had to change the rental car pickup time due to a late flight. "Sorry, we cannot change the time. We have to cancel the reservation and start over. There will be an additional charge." That was the first warning things would go south. We got to Days Inn at 1:30 in the morning and checked out 15 minutes later. Wires hanging from ceiling where smoke detector belongs, light switches not working, roaches everywhere. It was a health and safety hazard to say the least. I turned the room key in and asked for a refund. The response was- "Sorry. If you want a refund, you have to go through Priceline." We called Priceline the next day and it was, "Sorry for your experience, we'll give you a 10% discount on your next booking." I told them I wanted a refund and the reply was, "You have to ask the hotel for a refund." It was a week long battle with multiple phone calls but eventually the hotel agreed to a refund but only back to Priceline. Priceline offered NO help in resolving the issue. Priceline credited out account about 3 days later.

Scammers
April 21, 2023

I was trying to purchase a package of flight and hotel through Priceline, when I was trying to check out that kept on sending me to error messages, coming to find out they have been charging my credit card 4 times of $1386.91. When I called them they said that my booking didn't even went through and I had to wait for the credit to be dropped. Unfortunately I needed to use that particular credit card for a major purchase that is due that week. Priceline made it that I can't use my credit card because they used all my credit, I called plenty both my credit card bank and Priceline and no one smart enough working there can help me, they said wait 3-5 business days and so I did, even if I really need to use the credit card. Eventually I got in touch on Priceline's representative who agreed to make a 3 way call to my bank, and they said that from waiting with Priceline to clear it it will take another 7-10 business days, I am so upset and disappointed. Please do not ever use Priceline to save yourself with all the pain and agony. 10 days of not having to use your credit card is almost half a month with no compensation. And the worst is they didn't even get to book my flight. Total lies and deceptions.

Platinum Member with no issue
April 14, 2023

I have been a platinum member, and regularly booking with them for at least 5 years. Never had an issue until today, to realize their customer service was terrible.
I'm unable to speak to a supervisor, line drops and long wait line and still nothing.
They advertise the wrong location on their website and no one wants to take responsibility to their error.

******BEWARE******
April 12, 2023

*BEWARE* I booked a hotel on my Priceline account on feb 26th,2023. A couple hours later I cancelled the hotel. Priceline confirmed my cancellation with a email and it showed on my account as cancelled...On Mar 28,2023 I had a $1961.00 charge on my credit card from the hotel I cancelled... I contacted Priceline who again confirmed it was cancelled, but said I would have to talk to their sister company Booking.com who actually made the reservation...Booking.com advised me that they did not received a cancellation and I needed to send a screen shot of the cancellation to them. This was done and after 1 week and numerous phone calls and being on hold for a total of 12 hrs, both Priceline and Booking.com sent a email stating there is nothing they can do for me. Neither company will take responsibility and in the end they stole money from me and my family...This has been a absolute nightmare to deal with and there customer service will no longer reply to my emails...I would highly recommend using a different company for any bookings.
