I emailed technical support. They've been on maintenance for a week straight. I cleared my cache with no resolve. Funny how my iPad & iPhone is blocked but my husband's phone isn't. I know I did two orders in one day and a bunch within the week but that's because they keep putting stuff up. I'm shopping for myself as well as gifts for my family & friends. Sad they have to be this way.
I've bought tons of plushies over the years from the Pokémon Center! Ive never been lucky enough to get sealed cards from them though, they sell out instantly pretty much… so I can't speak for that section! But the plushies, immaculate and always have been! Even the clothing, accessories, etc are always great! Never had issues with customer service either, things are always great! Not sure why they have such a bad rep… :(
Don't buy, no matter how much you fear missing out— items are always damaged or tampered with. I got several celebrations items and every single one was too damaged to keep for display. Workers must be opening the product with a butcher knife honestly.
Every time pokemoncenter offers exclusive products they are impossible to obtain. If you ever time your shopping to coincide with the limited window, their systems are incapable of handing their customer's orders. I tried to place a preorder. Their "external service provider" would not handle the checkout. I kept hitting the place order button for 2 hours. Finally pokemoncenter BLOCKED ME like I was the problem. If they just allowed preorders to be handled by paypal, an industrial strength ecommerce center as they allow for normal orders instead of whatever crap supplier they are trying to use they could keep their site running and their potential customers satisfied. This review site asks for a proof of purchase to add to my review. THAT IS THE PROBLEM, YOU CANNOT MAKE A PREORDER PURCHASE.
While I love the products they offer, the site is barely hanging on functionality wise. The Pay with PayPal button isn't working, and whether or not it accepts a credit card or a debit card is like playing roulette (doesn't matter what their FAQ says). I brought these site issues to their attention, but I got a vague email stating they were aware of the issue and "we're working on it." Unbelievable considering both options have been broken for almost a month now.
Whenever you do a larger order, you cannot pull the order up since the image loading causes it to load up an error page.
The scalpers on the site are driving me and every non-scalper nuts! The recent line they released was immediately sold out within seconds and then, maybe an hour later, they were up on eBay for a very MARKED up price! Not to mention that their only way to "trying" to solve the scalper issue is to set up a bot that detects if someone is "clicking too fast around the site." Laughable attempt, since I'm pretty sure I can click on a few products (namely to check if they're restocked) and NOT be a bot. Yet, I get blocked and have to wait an hour to be unblocked while actual scalpers get away with it.
And it's useless reaching out to Customer Service because they take weeks to months to answer a single report!
The US Pokémon Center NEEDS to set their standards higher. At this point, I'm mainly ordering from the Japanese Pokémon Center through a proxy because they seem to have their act together.
I ordered a plush from them that did not look like the image on the website. It was poorly constructed and the wrong color. Very low quality. Not at all as advertised. They e-mailed me and asked for a review, but apparently they don't post reviews that are at all negative, because mine did not go up, and all the reviews visible are five star reviews. Calling them "reviews" seems intentionally misleading; what they are really looking for is positive testimonials, and they call them reviews to give their potential customers a false sense of security. My e-mails about the defective product were also ignored.
This website will block/ban your computer or ip address for no reason. You don't even have to be doing anything suspiscious, sometimes just clicking on a single link from this site will get you blocked. Absolutely ridiculous considering how much I have spent here over the years. Larges individual franchise in the world and they can't even get their website to work properly. Pathetic.
I purchased a sterling silver charm but decided to return it. That was on June 8. They got it on the 15th. And they still have not refunded my money. It's been almost a month with no money to speak of coming back from them that they owe me. They are money grubbers, they want you to spend money but if you return something they don't want to give your money back. They are quick about shipping out orders when you throw more money at them. But like I said, if you send something back they are very unlikely to give you your money back. I opened a dispute with PayPal. Oh, and PayPal is going to get my full price back. My full paid price was $58.97 but they wanted to only give me back the base price which was $54.99. That's another thing that they do, they don't want to pay you back what you paid for it fully. On top of all of that, if you contact customer support they won't get back to you on certain things such as this, they pick and choose. And they so conveniently chose not to get back to me on the issue of me not getting my refund when they said it would be. They said 2 to 3 days upon arrival. Still nothing. PayPal will get the job done.
I got a crush item. Everything ruined I tried to contact Pokémon center didn't get any reply at all. So I wasted 50$ on crushed cardboard. Thanks.
I preordered the chilling reign expansion and got it the day after it came out. Wasn't tampered with at all very happy with my package. Pretty average pulls even though i know that has nothing to do with the pokémon center website. Very happy with my purchase. Exactly what i would expect.
I was looking for a specific plush and it blocked me for being a bot because I was clicking between items. I haven't found any way to get myself unblocked from the site, and I'm so disappointed, as I love Pokémon and just wanted to support one of my favorite franchises.
It is sad that the Pokemon Center can be this bad with customer service.
I ordered a plushie, some deck boxes and sleeves a while ago. It wasn't much maybe around 20 - 40 dollars, I don't remember at this point. Anyways I was alerted the package arrived but it wasn't there. I thought it must have been lost in the mail. I contacted the Pokemon Center and they got back to me, saying to check with my neighbours and the post office. That was already odd but whatever not a biggie I guess. No one had it. I messaged them again. (Also they had asked I reply to their email but when I did a day went by without a response so I just submitted another question). They then sent me a FedEx shipping link that says it arrived. I was like "yes I was alerted to that, but it isn't here. So I'd like a refund or an exchange".
They then took a day to reply again so I submitted yet another ticket (this seems to get a reply within an hour or two). They replied to please keep replies to the emails (keep in mind I have emailed them this way and still have not gotten a reply in two days).
They then ask to confirm my address, I confirmed it.
A few days go by.
They then ask if I want it shipped or refunded. I wish I said refunded but I still held out hope for some reason. So I asked for a shipment.
I waited a couple more days.
I finally get messaged that the shipment is on its way. Here is the tracking number and FedEx link. Finally I think, I can put this behind me.
But I check it just to be cautious.
So they either gave me the wrong tracking number or are shipping it to a whole other state. I message them again, and here I am playing the waiting game.
I am genuinely surprised. They are a huge corporation. This isn't some struggling artist on Etsy who will feel a loss from this. This is a massive market. Their service is pretty bad. I rarely write bad reviews, especially for Pokemon (I genuinely love Pokemon). It just sucks :/
Honestly, this was stupid. They blocked my entire IP because I was too fast for a human. I was adding plushies to my cart :/ They even did a bot checker beforehand and STILL blocked me. I contacted support and they have yet to get back with me.
I cannot contact them theirs no email options or a phone number to call. The poster i bought was damaged both times! Everything else i have ever gotten was great but DO NOT buy posters from them EVER!
This site is terrible. It keeps crashing on popular releases and if you end up being successful on ordering something it will most likely be cancelled later on without explanation. Imagine being this big of a corporation and in the business for many years and yet consistently messing up this badly with your online store? Wow. I do not recommend.
Placed a $280 order for plushies that went in stocked. Found out that it was cancelled later that day but received no email letting me know. I messaged them a total of 5 times throughout the week asking them to refund me my money and I haven't gotten a response at all. The worst customer service when it comes to get back.
Not only does the site crash on you, they will block you if you click "too fast"! Very frustrating as this mechanism was supposed to allow actual users to have access to item instead of bots... this has actually worked more in favor of the bots than actual users! I have heard many others who expressed the same and its also all over reddit! This has been so discouraging with the shortage and scalpers, i am on the verge of giving up on the hobby in its entirety which is a travesty because I love pokemon and been collecting for over 2 decades but all the recent events is such BS.
I used to love the pokemon center website, but it's gotten very bad and worse since the pandemic. Most of the items are always sold out and you have to click and see what's available because they don't remove or grey out items that are out of stock. Because of this the site thinks you're a bot and blocks you. I'm trying to decide what to buy to get free shipping but I have to constantly click on items to see what's available. I've been blocked because of this. The site is not user friendly.
I ordered a shining fates tin from their website, which was a task and a half since their website bogs down anytime something new comes out. I have been eager to receive 1 tin as scalpers have been cleaning stock everywhere else. Then Pokemon center sent me an email saying they cancelled my order. They would rather send their stock to scalpers instead of distributing them to collectors. Don't buy from the Pokemon Center website and don't buy from scalpers, it's time to eliminate the scalpers by not giving them any money and to not buy from the Pokemon Center site to make them realize change is needed.
Order never arrived. Reached out to their support and they replied with tracking info that literally had no street address on it, claiming this was proof of delivery. Stonewalled me the whole way, so I disputed with PayPal. Amazingly PayPal denied my claim so basically Pokemon Center just stole my money. I got nothing. Do not buy from them.
Answer: It's so not a scam. I've always gotten my products. Whenever there's an issue, it has something to do with USPS.
