As far as PepBoy's is concerned, I've been extremely disappointed with them within the past 16 months. About a year ago I paid for all these expensive die test for my Equinox, because I was having a major oil leak. The bill came out $ 1,349.99. Two months later my car started leaking again. Four months after that I brought the car back into PepBoy's and paid an additional $600. At that time, they suggested that I take the car to a car wash so that I can have the undercarriage cleaned. I purchased a monthly car wash at Quick Quack, but my car never stopped leaking oil. The manager suggested that I take it to another shop and get a couple of estimates… I haven't been able to that until recent.
About a week ago I was with my sister when she asked me to check the air in one of her tires. As I attempting to put air in her tire, I noticed a wire sticking out of where you put air in. Because it was the closest, and we didn't want to lose the remainder of the air in the tire, we hurried down to Quality Lube & Tune up Northgate. The two guys there couldn't help us, so my sister wanted to go to PepBoy's. This is when we met an up, and coming mechanic named Isaac. You wouldn't believe this but, Isaac was prompt, fast and trustworthy. He explained everything that he was doing, including the tire pressure sensor that was sticking out of the wheel. He really went out of his way, just so that we could have a drivable car. I couldn't believe that this was happening at PepBoy's after my previous experience. Isaac definitely sets the pace for technicians and mechanics to come! I hope he goes far, because his passion for the automotive industry is written all over him.
Pep Boys did a good job fixing my A/C in my Nissan Sentra. The wrong part was sent but Christian corrected the problem, with no extra charge, and got the correct part to finish the job. This is my 2nd time going to this location and have been satisfied. Location is Vestavia, Al. Thank you all.
I asked the guy at the counter how much it would be for a wheel bearing for a Chevy Silverado he charged me $41.05 Just to tell me that I needed a left wheel bearing was going to cost $1100 to fix. I know I was born at night but not last night I'm not gonna be taken advantage of and it's not right. Be aware of them taking advantage of you
Just wanted to put out a great job to pep boys store 118 in Lakeland Florida…. They went over and beyond there jobs. My husband first went in with a flat tire by the weekend we had four brand new tires and we feel worry free. Do Not put up with big companies blowing smoke up your tail pipes. Go with Pep Boys store number 118 in Lakeland Florida. Awesome job thanks Tracey and Jerry Keeling
Andy at Woodland Hills Pep Boys was SO great and even helped me by installing my windshield wipers. I'm a mom with a handicapped child and I had no idea how to install them. Rain expected here in California tomorrow. Sweet about it to and just genuinely nice. Since Covid, it's super awesome to see human kindness return!
Ordered 2 sets of premium tires ($3,400+) for 2 of our vehicles. Gave a credit card deposit of $2,016. Took 1st vehicle in for appointment, was told they were 30 minutes behind, I waited. One hour later they still hadn't started, said most of their employees had quit and not sure when they could get to it. I asked about the other set of tires ordered for an appointment set for tomorrow, was told they couldn't get the tires. I canceled everything and asked for a refund back to my credit card, was told they don't give credit card refunds, that they would send a request to Pennsylvania office and if it was approved they would mail a check. Could take up to 3 or 4 weeks. Meanwhile $2,016 tied up on credit card.
These people are in my opinion crooks, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! Look online at all stores being closed, BEWARE!
Took over 1 hour to install 1 tire on a 2wd pickup truck. Salesman could not understand to put the left front tire and wheel in the truck bed as it was actually my spare tire, then put the 1 new tire on the wheel currently in the bed and mount it on the left front. It took 2 guys 10 minutes just to get it up on the rack. Salesperson asked me to please sit down as I was watching their clown show through the window and making their "tech"s nervous.? I worked in tire stores for over 20 years earlier in life and I know incompetent workers when I see them.
An hour later I was finally told it was done although it was still in the shop and I commented that this was the worst tire install service I've had in over 50 years. The service manager Leo took great offense to my opinion and threatened to take the new tire off my truck. Also ripped a piece of paper out of my hands when I asked the salesman Nate for both their names. This guy was 100% out of emotional control. I might add that except for the last 10 minutes my truck was the only vehicle in their shop for work. I wonder why? BTW the Pep Boys Corporate Customer phone number just tells you it is not working and hangs up on you.
Like it or not, customers are entitled to an opinion of their experience at Pep Boys. Leo said I had insulted him by saying that. Gee, I wonder why their shop is almost empty and they closed down all their parts stores a couple years ago: Could it be from the outstanding customer service from staff like Leo?
5495 GLENWAY avenue Cincinnati Ohio. Went in purchase two tire to have put on. My loose rims one rim in box other rim they had to remove the tire on one rim and put on tire they scratched my rim so bad they chip the chrome off and now everybody playing Dum! Don't no one buy a new rim in the box that's scratched that deep. Don't recommend to no one they do not take pride in there work. Don't recommend to no one. Very poor service Dry wall dust all over store so wear your dirty cloth and your mask to keep dry wall dust out your lungs. Do not sit down chairs are full off dry wall dust.
I took my 2016 kia forte to pepboys on Covington highway on the 2and of January to have my oil changed the man that changed my oil is deaf and he put to much oil in my car Never changed the filter or drained the oil so the oil got into my motor and caused my motor to lock the motor has to be replaced and of course pep boys are taking no responsibility for what they did so now I'm out of a car.DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR to Pep boys on Covington highway in decatur georgia EVER the manger named Drew is an asshoe
I have been taking my vehicles to the PepBoys at 1795 Central Avenue Albany, NY for years! I have always experienced the most exceptional service every time I go. It's the knowledgeable, professional, friendly and trustworthy mechanics and staff that make the difference. They have always explained to me when and why a repair is needed when I bring my vehicle in, and NEVER sell me anything that I don't need! I would never take my vehicles anywhere else. Whether I just need a State inspection or a major repair, its PepBoys at 1795 Central Avenue, Albany, NY that I always trust my vehicles to. Thank you so much for all that you do! Great job!
Free ac check was the come on. Tech confirmed by looking under the hood that clutch was not engaging. Back to front counter where they gave an estimate to replace all components for approx $1400. Went to another ac place and they found electrical problem for $100 after a simple diagnostic test. Pep boys stated that their policy is to replace everything. So following this train of thought if one tire is determined to be bad then replace them all. Something's up with Yuma store. Last visit the store was large and full of parts and accessories. Now it's empty save for service.
I just want to thank Rich and Nes for taking care of my SUV and putting me first. This is how all customers want to feel. It was my second time there in two days first for four tires then back for brakes. Thanks to everyone that works there. You guys are very patient and have a lot to deal with. But u keep it professional. Five stars here for west Hartford Ct Pepboys
I booked a 1300 appointment to take my dodge ram 2500 in for an oil change and tire rotation. Wasn't able to purchase the motor oil I request at the time I made the appointment. It took over 2 1/2 hours to complete the job. They forgot to reset in oil change indicator, and also didn't put the correct tire pressures in the front or rear tires. Basically, I would not recommend this business for any auto service of any kind.
I bought new tire there that was great. Then came back to get oil change in tire rotation. In some new rams with nothing showing on dash board. Drove my car home next day tire light came on. They put air in it. Reset. I was back there again with same problem
They said is my sensor in my tire. So I came they hade my car for hr half. Change the sensor came back on again. I came there three time seems like they don't have time fix what they put on my dash board. I won't to speak to owner. About this problem. I about fall on my faces running back forth. Seems stuck with tire light showing on dash board not now if I need air my tire. Please need help get this matter resolved. A blackwood
Chase and his team at awesome people. They do very good work in just a short time. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to Chase. He is a great shop manger
Took my car for inspection ONLY
Pepboy say my functioning rear brakes is going bad.
Cost to change it $250.
They also told me my wipers going bad which I recently changed.
Wanted to charge me for Emission inspection which I specifically told cashier n mechanic I do not need.
In my opinion Pepboys near PHL airport will create issues just to fail your inspection thinkyyou will allow them to fix your vehicle at ridiculous service charges
Purchased 4 tires, two on the drivers side don't match the two on the passengers side. Returned the same day and they said they would fix it... nearly two weeks later and nothing happens. Should have canceled the payment immediately. Tried to scam me on an oil change too! Most disreputable shop I have ever experienced in nearly 50 years of driving. Sad, very sad. Do not shop at Pep Boys!
I took my car to Pep Boys Germantown, MD rather than the dealer (big mistake) for a simple alignment check and possible rotation. An hour later I was informed that I needed 4 new tires (mind you I haven't driven my car more than a 100 miles a month due to Covid), brakes, an alignment, and tire rotation, totaling nearly 2,000 dollars. I guess I had stupid written across my forehead. I informed them I would buy a new car before paying them for any repairs.
I then took my car to the dealer for their 19 point check and found the car was in perfect condition, did not even need an oil change since I am seldom driving it.
Disgraceful, disgusting behavior. Be cautious when dealing with this company. They don't allow you to write bad reviews on Google or with Yelp. They will delete the review for not following the guidelines, which is basically, don't ask, don't tell.
When you have problems with ANY type of service -- then REPORT IT to the agency(agencies) that license them. You can also get personal satisfaction AND money back by going to lawyers who specialize in consumer complaints. And since you hopefully now realize that sadly not everyone out there is honest, check out the lawyer's reputation-reviews on the Internet BEFORE going to that lawyer. And of course keep up with your new habit of checking out other businesses before you give them your hard-earned money. It is simply the computer version of avoiding walking down dark, narrow alleys...
Chris Manager for store on Walzem
Windcrest, Tx. Excellent customer service and attention to detail. Truly enjoyed my service with today. Thomas is an expert with tires exchange and repair. Quick and efficient with smile. Will recommend this store to family and friends plus Windcrest neighborhood as a whole.
Answer: They are a legit company, but deceitful and immoral.
Answer: 3rd party. I wouldn't buy anything for your vehicle there. Cheap, outdated parts
