The customer feedback for Pep Boys reveals significant concerns regarding their service quality and customer support. Many customers report frustrating experiences with service delays, unfulfilled promises, and inadequate communication, particularly regarding refunds and repairs. However, some positive interactions were noted, highlighting knowledgeable staff and satisfactory service at specific locations. Despite these strengths, the overarching sentiment suggests a decline in reliability and professionalism, prompting customers to seek alternatives. I was not a fan of pep boys but I will not go anywhere else as long as Adam is there. I have 4 vehicles and Adam always gives me a choice on tires, service etc. He treats you the same whether you are spending 50 dollars or 500 dollars. He knows customers want a choice and options. He is very knowledgeable and I base all my decisions on his recommendations. Please tell him him what a great job he is doing. Its a pleasure to go to Pep boys in Berlin Ct. Thank you Arthur Hatje Newington Ct.
My car holds 5.7 quarts of oil. I got the bill and was charged for 7 quarts. This was after waiting over an hour longer than they promised for a simple oil change. The time wasn't all that big a matter, but theft is a big problem. Also have no idea what a "1 Step Fuel Sys Cleaner" is but was charged for and never asked for it. Never again to any Pep Boys, but especially not the one in Yulee, FL.
Don't go there for services!
They ruined my 2013 Toyota Prius
I went there for an oil change and they damaged my car.
The techs don't know how to reset the service reminder and they asked me to take it to the dealer.
Which cost me more than $1370 to correct the mess they created.
So I purchased road hazard as part of a $2,000 service a while back so I needed to use the road hazard for a flat tire I waited 4 hours and still not even close to pull in my vehicle in and starting I've seen workers with less tools do the same repair in 10 minutes. Sorry guys but I will be doing my repairs elsewhere from now on this is how the good companies go down
Went in for all season tire, even ordered and made appointment. The said drop off at 2 and pick up at 4. At 4 they call me and said oops we dont have your tire and they put on a lesser quantity on my tire. My car wasn't ready until 7pm. Never again!
Went to the Pep Boys in Chandler, AZ on Arizona Ave. Even though it was getting close to closing, Ernie provided me with quick turnaround service on my Audi and got me back on the road in no time. Really appreciate people stepping up nowadays. I'll be going back next time I need service. Thanks Karl J.
Drove to Wendy's Hamburger to get a bite. To give the correct change, I unbuckled my seat belt to get the loose change out of my pocket. Would you believe that a dime fell from my pocket into the chamber of the buckle preventing me from securing my seatbelt. After screaming out loud, I finally called pep boys on Dunn ave. In Jacksonville Florida and Mr. Steve picked up the phone and after learning of my Delima, he chuckled a bit but told me come to the store. After two attempts, he was able to fish the dime out of the chamber of the buckle and saved my sanity! I really appreciated his willingness to help, and I didn't even have an appointment. Man, in this day and age it's rare to find someone with such an awesome attitude and eager to help! Thanks Steve! Really appreciate it! We will send our friends and family to the Pep Boys Location on Dunn Ave here in Jacksonville, Fl. *******.
Drop my car to have brakes and alignment done around 3; 30 I got back 6:30 they didn't touch my car and waited 45 minutes until they find my car keys unbelievable bad service 08/25/2022
Pepboys informed me that I needed a new alternator. I had a professional look at it and I didn't need an alternator at all my belt broke off. They also had the audacity to charge me a fee just to look at. RIP OFF
Emil's customer service is off the chart. He was very patient and let me explore all insider deals. Overtime is his middle name. Thanks, guys who work at the Modesto CA site
I had to take my wife's car in it felt like the front tire was coming off they needed to replace the upper and lower control arms and the ball joints plus they found that the right front tire was ready to explode they save my wife from getting in a bad accident manny gave the best customer service and saved us over $200 dollars eddie worked on my wife's can and he did fantastic work and very thorough when we went to pick up my wife's car i asked how much it wood cost to replace the left turn signal light and paul replaced it for free i tried to give them a $10 tip but they refused to accept the tip thank god pep boys was there for us when we needed them the most p. I went to change my tire on the car and they damaged all my ring tire. I tried to speak to the manager and he told me it was curve rash. I even call customer service to help me and it been a mont and they didn't do anything. They just ignore me tell they will call me back. They just care about their money. Even a tire log was damaged.
I have taken my car to Pep Boys on numerous occasions and have always been very satisfied with their service and prices. I would recommend them.
After bringing my car to pepboys, I was told they only had 1 person to replace a pully and to com back on Saturday. Price quoted was 40 for part 60 for labor. Returned on Saturday at 8 Am per appointment, left the car 3 hours later returned to find car was never touched. Manager said if I did not like it to take the keys and leave. I requested a manager and was told he was not around. I left the car and finally got a call from the manager who finally showed up for work. The 100 dollar repair was now going to cost over 700 dollars. After argument they reduced the price to 620 dollars which I had no option but to pay. The original person was disrespectful and condescending. Called the customer service number and was given a report number told I would recieve a call in 2 days, 8 days later no call. I called back and was again told there was no one to speak to and they would call me back again. I have never seen such rude and unprofessional company. I will never be using this company again and will start posting this experience in as many forums as I can. I am only doing this to help others not be disrespected and ripped off by this company. I would give this company a 0 but not an option
David always takes such good care of us! So much so that when my daughter had a flat tire, he stayed late so that he could make sure she was safe! We won't go anywhere else! He is the reason we will always be loyal to Pepboys. Thank you David for all that you do! We are grateful for you!
Significant Deficiencies: Arrived 15 minutes ahead for a scheduled appointment, no one in line, yet it took 10 minutes to check in. Communication extremely poor to non-existent for entire process. Text notification disconnected from actual process. The waiting room blasts non-stop mind numbing sales infomercials. The place wasn't busy. There was one other customer in the waiting area when I arrived, one when I left. Reasons for poor service not apparent. Poor morale? Lack of skills or training? This was my last trip to a Pep Boys — ever.
I took my daughter's car to PepBoys to repair her a/c on July 9th, now 9 days ago. I feel stupid that I didn't look up their reviews before doing this. We were told that it was the a/c expansion valve for her 2009 Ford Escape. $500 later we're leaving happy and I gave them a great review. The following Wednesday, the a/c was no longer cooling. Took the car back in July 16th and they said it was probably a leak, and that they had put dye in the first time so they should be able to find the leak. But, now they said it was now the condenser and it would be $800 more dollars. How could it have not been the condenser the first time? I'm told the expansion valve rarely goes bad because it is enclosed. When I asked PepBoys, they said "it had gook". But, I'm told that they should have tested the pressure on the system for at least 1/2 hour and that it was the condenser, not the expansion valve. I couldn't afford for PepBoys to again fix the a/c. But when we got the car back home and the grill was than removed, it was easy to see the dye bubbling out of the condenser. Doing my research, the valve could have been cleaned also. But, when I looked up pricing, the part is about $35.00 and I now have to pay $500 to replace the part which I'm told was not the problem. Seriously though, I'm not a mechanic, but how could the condenser not have been the issue in the first place? I got friends to work on the car the 2nd time (but I was trying not to ask my friends to help) and they're telling me I got taken advantage of and the car was misdiagnosed. I'm being told the expansion valve should have never been replaced.
A black male customer went to explain that the wrong tires was order, Lisa was very unhelpful and denied making the error, and told the customer not to come back to the store again. The customer spent over $1000. This shows a lack of accountability & dishonesty. Do better!
I brought my car in for a tire change. Didn't call me all day until I called 6 hours later looking for an update. Said met me check on it and never got back. So I went there figuring it was finished to find out they didn't even have the tires to put on. They held my car without even looking at there inventory. So I left with a very dangerous car. Really inconvenient and a waste of time. Never go here
Don't bother making appointments with these guys. I show up ten minutes early for an alignment and am told I'd have to wait two and a half hours before they could even start on the service. When I contacted customer service to complain about the issue I'm told that setting online appointments shouldn't be done - that if I wanted to get a real appointment I need to call the store and do it directly.
Complete waste of time. Now I've got to go take another half day off and get it done somewhere that knows what the meaning of scheduled service means..
Answer: They are a legit company, but deceitful and immoral.
Answer: 3rd party. I wouldn't buy anything for your vehicle there. Cheap, outdated parts
