My recommendation go anywhere else. I went here (the location on Elston), for the first time today. I was getting an oil change service. I had an appointment. It was estimated to take an hour and a half. I figured if it was a good place I have them look at my horn since it has stopped working twice in 2 years. An hour and half passed and no word, I went and asked about my car and they went and found out it hadn't even been started but it was next up. After another hour went by and I was getting kind of upset, I went to look and didn't see my car up there. The rep then came to tell me the technician was on break and I could come back tomorrow. After two and half hours of waiting is when they told me this, who in their right mind would come back. I also work all weekend. So not only did I leave their in tears, without any service done to my car, I wasted 2.5 hours and then drove 30 mins home unable to do my other errands since the places closed. The customer service was awful the fact that it took 2.5 hours and still nothing was done and I was offered to wait an unestimatable amount of time. And now I have to go get an oil change somewhere else obviously. Disappointed is an understatement.

Took my car to Bordentown to get car fixed. 4th time stll getting stranded even after buying a battery. Refused them and advised by Area Manager we will get your car back fixed. They set me up with N. Brunswick store who had better attitudes - nice staff. But after releasing my car to me i reported the issue off car slowing down because of a 3 wire prong fo alternator. They said it was broken and repaired with special glue. Why in hell was it released knowing this. Still waiting for a call over 2 weeks to fix my car. Area manager left a message saying theyll call me when it comes in. This will be the 7th time from May to now 6/12 my car was in for the same issue. I need a refund..

I was given used tires for the price of a new set of tires. They looked clearly used and the tread depth varied with each tire, but they fraudulently documented each tire had the depth of 10. I called and complained, and the manager smirked at me when I came in to view video footage that proved nothing. Even he confirmed the tire depths were below 10 and varied. How can this be possible with a brand new set of tires? I filed another report, the area manager called from a private number and was very unprofessional, he claimed Definitey HP 800 tires are no longer made, and their old, so the tread can just erode. That is a lie, but even if true, why would you sell them full price as new if you know they are not in good condition? He then said, " we don't sell used tires, and what you want me to do? If you don't like them you can get a new set installed and pay the difference." U couldn't believe the Area Director of Duluth, Ga can conduct himself in such an unprofessional and deceitful manner.

Honest appreciation
May 3, 2021

The guys at 44th & Wads. Are unusual. They had the opportunity to take advantage of my car woes, and instead, empathized with my situation and honestly claimed they could not find anything wrong with the car. They thoroughly checked all systems, reported no problems, and when I asked them what I owed them, the Manger said, "No charge". I've trusted Pepboys for years, and will continue to do so. Thanks guys, stay safe.

Dry rot tires
April 17, 2021

I purchased 4 new Cooper tires with hazard protection Almost $1000 Today 6months atter i had to replace a tire they said was cut by a peace of metal. I asked if these were strong how could it get so easily cit. I found out because the tires are already dried out its easier to get damaged quickly. I wont ever purchase any services from Pepboys again. I went to the Tucker location. People do your research before using them. Not good. ElJackson

Bad service
April 10, 2021

I had a 10:30 appointment at pep boys located at 4164 N Milwaukee ave, Chicago. I arrived at 1020 am for a simple oil change and tire rotation. It took two hours for a oil change and after I arrived home found out that my tires were not rotated as stated on my receipt. The best part is they were not busy, and when I called about my tires not being rotated I was told the technician stated the treads wore evenly and the tires did not need to be rotated. I had a slow leak on one of the tires on my car due to a puncture. I went to Pep Boys but they were booked up for the day. So, I made an appointment to go back the next day. With an appointment and after waiting for 2 hours, they couldn't get to my car. The reason they gave me was that they were waiting for authorization from Fleet. I had to leave for another important appointment but called Fleet myself to verify how long they would need to authorize a service request. They told me the authorization was given right away. Pep Boys lied but one of their associates actually cared enough to call me back at a later time telling that they finally got authorization from Fleet, and that I should go back the next morning 15 minutes before they open to get service right away. Meanwhile, the slow leak worsened and my tire suddenly became completely flat. I had to put on the spare tire on road side. I returned to the shop the next morning and was the first one in line but guess what, they told me that they wouldn't be able to get to my car and I must drop off my car. I wasn't going to leave my car with them not knowing when my tire would get fixed. Three trips to Pep Boys, two of which with appointments and one even with pre-authorization, my tire remained flat! Something is seriously messed up at Pep Boys and I am done with them for life!

Rip Off Boys
March 23, 2021

Bait n Switch... Pep Boys quoted a price for 4 new tires, when the bill came the price changed three times. Was sold the wrong size tires for my vehicle and the tires received we're not a matched set of 4 AND 2 of them appeared to have been used, possible returns from someone else. The mechanic took shortcuts, was very sloppy and damaged the wheels while trying to mount the tires. This place appears to hire second-rate inexperienced mechanics who couldn't cut it at Professional Auto repair shops. Reaching out to upper management at this company is a joke... no response. Only remedy is small claims court. Customers DO appear to receive a response from the company only when a negative review is posted on Yelp... then you will receive their usual canned post: 'We apologize for your poor experience, please send us your contact information.' Of course the company's insincere, generic response generated by the Pep Boys bots posted on ALL negative reviews AND WILL EVENTUALLY BE POSTED BELOW ON THIS REVIEW goes nowhere as it appears to be the companies go to strategy to help these Rip Off losers save face on the internet. Now I understand why multiple Pep Boys locations are closing Nationwide.

Eagan MN store.

I have a blower motor that has failed. It has a lifetime warranty for the manufacturer. I was told that because the store that I Purchased the part from was shut down. They can't look up in the system (rewards) and see that I bought it from them. And I need a Receipt.
This is a 5 to 8 year old part. I'm Not going to have the receipt.

Jason form the Eagan store was boarder line rude and would not offer to help and kept repeating him self.

There has to be a Solution to all the people that have bought parts from them with warranty.

I can see why pep boys is failing in Minnesota.

Jason M from the Eagan store. Mn.

Brush up on your people skills and learn to address customers with alittle more Professionalism.
Further more offer to have the customer call corporate,
and not just shut them down with now were to turn or and options.

Sad to see pep boys were there are today.

Do Not Get Ripped off
February 13, 2021

Pep boys offer their staff commission on sales; when you take your car there is no fixed price for repairs. The staff gives you different and outrageous prices, obviously the more they charge the more commission they make. I was told)$150.00 to check my valve stem. DO NOT FALL for this. We ordered the part Pep Boys listed for our vehicle. Part wasn't even close to being the right part but even though it was totally their mistake they refused to take the part back brand new in the original box in the original packing.

Pep Bandits
January 11, 2021

My car broke down 1 mile from Pep Boys and I had my car towed to them. I needed 3 things. A battery, alternator and belt. I was quoted $1020. 00 with parts, labor and service fees. Oh and I paid $18.00 to have them do an analysis. What are service fees aka "pocket fees" I asked? The answer was unclear and are not listed under the labor cost. I told them not to do the work. I had my car towed the next morning to a garage where I was quoted $562.00 parts and labor included. I will never go back to Pep Boys. They should be investigated.

Inspection scam!
November 30, 2020

Inspection SCAM! I brought my vehicle in for NYS inspection. I was told the wait would be 15-20 minutes to get it in the shop. They got it in in 15 minutes, but then they had it on the lift for 90 minutes, and removed all four tires (NYS only requires one to be removed). Inspection should only take 15 minutes! Then they tell me I failed because of "uneven brake pad wear". That is NOT grounds for failing inspection in NYS! All of my brake pads are good, but I replace the pads on one rear wheel after a stuck pin, so that wheel's pads had slightly more meat than the other rear. They are just looking to sell unnecessary services. STAY AWAY!
