So ordered balloons for a baby shower that never arrived and when we called we had been told "the system canceled your order and we have no idea why". Well that would have been nice to have been told ahead of time so we could have planned for an alternative. This company SUCKS and NOBODY should EVER use them. F*CK Party City!
Offers delivery then says it can't deliver to my address when I live 1 mile from.store. Customer service was a joke

I ordered over $100 worth of individual yard letters, and was assured an on time delivery. They came two days too late for my function so were returned with their shipping label in their original packaging, unopened, unused. They were delivered to their dock and they can't find them and now I've been told that individual letters are unreturnable because they are customized... NO THEY ARE NOT! THEY ARE INDIVIDUAL LETTERS! And they are not shown under their customized column on their website. Now, I am out my money and the letters!... I have been contacted by the company and they are now considering a refund. We'll see...
I purchased the balloon time machine for a balloon release for my brother's year of passing. The box states that you can blow up to 50 balloons I was only able to blow up 20 balloons.
I just had a horrendous experience with a balloon delivery from Party City over the weekend for my son's birthday party. First, the balloons arrived after the estimated delivery time given when I ordered them. These were supposed to be the centerpieces and all of the balloon configuration was completely wrong. I wanted one mickey mylar balloon with 6 surrounding latex (one of each color - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) surrounding it. I got random numbers on each centerpiece with 2 of one color, 3 of another, etc. there was no consistency or anything close to resembling my specifications. The order then shows up in 2 deliveries from 2 different drivers half an hour apart. I could have dealt with all of that if the balloons didn't start popping within SECONDS OF BEING PUT ON THE TABLES. I had 8 centerpieces and was down to only 3 by the time the party started - 30 minutes after being delivered. It was an absolute mess. To top it off, I called party city 12 times during the course of the afternoon and had to leave messages. NEVER spoke to a customer service rep to make sure I could get replacements or my money back. I was left with no mylars and mismatched centerpieces. I would never recommend the delivery service or party city for balloons in the future. I know they have the price and convenience, but for a few dollars more I would go to another party supply store to ensure I have the correct order! They are a complete JOKE of a business.
I walked into the store and ask if they had helium balloons while the clerk was blowing up helium balloons. The man told me they couldn't sell me just one small latex balloon. I said well you're blowing them up and he said I still can't sell it to you this is for display! If you don't want to sell helium balloons then you don't need to blow them up for displays! It was for the displays where you pick out the type of balloon you want! Is that not the craziest thing I have ever heard! If they want to do that they need to do it in a back room and not when a customer is standing right there! This is the Jefferson Mall location in Louisville Kentucky. Don't bother going in there because they don't care about you! They were not nice at all! I will never shop the store again! I will call the corporate office which will probably do no good! But they will hear from me anyways!
I bought 2 blue star balloons at the Oceanside location. It began to deflate by the time I got to my location less than 10 minutes away. They offered to give my money back but the location is a distance from my home. Very disappointed.
I walked into PartyCity Richmond, Ca (*******), at 10:30am. There were 3 women looking at balloons. I chose to wait patiently behind them to give them space (COVID/6 feet). I wanted to look at balloons and choose the colors I wanted as well. The cashier (young woman with braids and a mask under her chin), was in the process of helping a customer. She looks at me standing behind the three women, turned around and mumbled something. I said "excuse me" because I didn't hear her. As she walks away she says, "there is no line…but ok." What does that even mean? Was that customer service or sarcasm? Is that how management communicates with customers?
Chose not to purchase at this location.
Went into store at 8:15 am and asked for one Mylar balloon. Was told no 'walk in orders' So wait, what? Can't get one balloon at a party store? Asked 'manager' just one balloon? Nope.
No wonder these stores are going out of business. Great customer service. Great management.
I paid for 30 balloons. They charged my granddaughter for 30 more when she went to pick up the balloons. I advise people to stay clear of party city! Very sketchy company.
My wife was in a pinch and needed 2 balloons inflated. They wanted $9 PER BALLOON just to inflate them! So she bought 2 of their balloons and was charged $28… for 2 balloons! Enjoy your $28 Party City. I hope it was worth losing two customers for life. Oh, and thanks for the story to tell others.

I don't recommend ordering from this company. I ordered a big lot of cotton candy for a surprise celebration for my husband. Half of my order was shipped and arrived, the other half was put on hold with no explanation. I called customer service to cancel the remaining half of my order because i would not need the items AFTER the party. Their online service was "experiencing difficulties" so I could not cancel it myself. The cc used to pay for the order is in my hubbys name, but the items were shipped to ME, with MY address, the order was created under MY email, and I am a legal cardholder on the cc account. Party City refused to cancel the rest of MY order unless I have the birthday boy himself call to cancel it. So they refused to cancel it unless I ruined the birthday party surprise. Horrible customer service.
Everytime we get balloons here pay for "high float" and still within a day or 2 they are on the floor. Yet the balloons you buy at the checkout line at the grocery store they stay floating for weeks. It literally makes zero sense.
My tracking number said exception due to wrong or incorrect address when i tracked my package. I went to UPS terminal and was notified that the wrong label was put on my package therefore delivery was delayed and my item came too late. Then i had to track it down by going to the UPS terminal two days in a row. I shouldn't have to pay for shipping if this was the case. Smh
I purchased a piñata online that what was way too small. So I took it to the north I 35 party city by Palmer Lane in hopes that either they can exchange it or return my money, I was told by the rude manager who rolled her eyes that she does not do exchanges or refunds at this location that I need to go all the way to Cedar Park and carried on about what she was doing instead of just continuing to talk with me. I will never ever purchased from party city and I will will be returning all purchased items that I purchased for Easter back because I don't deserve this no one does.
I wanted to purchase a couple of balloons for my sisters 50th birthday. Wanted to surprise her and decorate the outside of her house before she got home from work. Thought it would cheer her up because her husband was recently diagnosed with stage four cancer and she didn't want to celebrate. The manager Delilah told me it would be a 40 minute wait to fill 2 balloons with helium because she had 2 orders in front of me. There was no one else in the store waiting so the orders were probably pick ups. I kindly told her the situation and since it was only 2 balloons asked if she could take a few seconds to fill. She was insensitive and heartless and did not care. Flexing her power said I'd have to wait. I couldn't wait and walked out in tears because I would not make it before my sister got home. I called a bit later to get her managers name and was told she could not give me that information. I can not believe how making a customer happy meant nothing to her or even caring to do something good for someone who was hurting greatly. It was heartbreaking to say the least. It was only 2 simple balloons and 2 seconds of her time to make someone's day special but instead showed how much she does not care about her customers.
I would. It sucks! I placed and order that was showing me plenty of time for delivery. After I placed the order the date changed to where it would be late for the event. I immediately called and they told me they could not do anything even though nothing had shipped and there was not a tracking number. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!
Ordered 1 day delivery because I didn't trust their regular shipping. I had ordered about $70 in catering supplies, chaffing setups, extra pans, etc. The tiny bag dropped at my door was 3 light up Christmas necklaces at $2 each.
I called the store and while the manager was ok on the phone, I had to run down to the store before it closed to get my items and return those junky necklaces because he said "I'm going to need those back before I can give you your order". When I got there I was told the driver should never have taken that bag as there was no delivery slip and they don't deliver under $50. And for this great non-delivery experience I couldn't even get the tip back as it "was already processed"!
