PartsGeek Reviews Summary

The company has garnered a predominantly negative reputation among customers, primarily due to significant issues with order accuracy and return processes. Many reviews highlight frustrations over receiving incorrect parts and the subsequent difficulty in obtaining refunds, with customers often bearing return shipping costs for errors not of their making. Additionally, the customer service experience is frequently described as inadequate, characterized by long wait times and unhelpful responses. While some customers noted prompt delivery of the correct items, the overall sentiment reflects a lack of reliability and support, leading to a strong recommendation to seek alternative suppliers.

I ordered two radiators and a handful of related parts from PG. The first radiator was clearly stated to fit my 1986 Jeep CJ-7 4.2L six cylinder. It would not. Return freight was on me...$61.00. The second radiator, verified by the phone attendant and his manager "Dee Dee" also proved to be incorrect. Yet another return freight fee was my obligation... along with shipping to return the incorrect radiator hose. They did refund charges for the parts however not for shipping either direction, leaving me with more than $180.00 in expenses for the privilege of delaying repairs and dealing with the frustration of their consistent errors. I can accept that sometimes incorrect parts are shipped but I cannot in this day and time accept a company policy that insists upon forcing the customer to pay for their mistakes. Were there a lower rating than 1 star I would offer it here. There are many other and better options.

Pricing Scam
February 16, 2020

Was going to purchase a Rear Step Bumper Pad for a 2002 Ford E150 Van. The price listed for this item was $27.98. When I added this item to my shopping cart the final price jumped to $92.93. $64.95 for shipping and "handling"! I have attached a photo because I know I wouldn't have believed it either.

Wronge part as usual
February 4, 2020

Ordered a trailer hitch. I got one, just didn't fit the one I ordered because it had the holes for mounting beveled out, like it was welded different than the other side. When I called, they blamed me for ordering a part that fits a 8000# tow capacity vehicle when mine is rated at 5000# (the only rating for a Frontier) verified by the dealer. Told me I would have to pay for a replacement. I called my credit card company-- I didn't pay for it and not paying return shipping for something that was their fault to start with-- not including the pieces missing (1 bolt, 1 lock washer and three flat washers). It had been opened before.

Not worth the risk
January 27, 2020

Awful support, problems with most orders. Ordered 2 items. Received 1 item. Requested help, had to supply pictures. RMA issued for the item I did not receive, instead of sending the product. Replies are unclear about what I am supposed to do: return nothing and get a refund?

Pretty much what the headline describes. I did not find out about "regardless of fault" clause until I needed to submit for an RMA number. Absolute BS because they will resell the unused part. I will NEVER do business with them again.\m/

I ordered a part from them and they sent the wrong part for my car. When I contacted customer service about exchanging the part, they refused. The customer service person just spouted the company policy manual from a script and was completely unhelpful. I had to order the part from another site (should have done that in the first place) and disputed the charge with my credit card company.

Completely thrilled with my purchase! I needed a third brake light assembly, and everyone from the dealership to the local mechanic was basically up-charging the part times three. My wife found the part (new) on Parts Geek's website for $127, and there was even an additional discount. So instead of paying the $300+ others were trying to charge me, I was able to purchase it for $108. I ordered the part on Friday morning, and it arrived on Monday. So not only did they save me over $200, but they got the part to me all the way from California in 2 days. Will absolutely purchase from them again!

You have to pay for shipping! They do not cover cost for your returns. So make sure your the right part. Even if they screwed up on your part order.

Parts Geek shipped me the wrong part, and I was very concerned because their website states that buyers have to pay for return shipping no matter who was at fault. When I clicked through their website to request a refund, the email did state that I had to pay for shipping, however I contacted them a second time via the website and this time I clicked the option stating that my item never arrived, and in the comments said that I received the wrong part. They then emailed asking for a photo of the incorrect item and the next day emailed a prepaid shipping label, then refunded my credit card the full amount paid. So, I am glad they refunded my money, but am leery of ordering from them again since they never did ship the correct part and do not make it easy to get a refund.

Misleading Photos

I ordered the item showing in the photo below consisting of a cap, a spring, and a diaphragm. They sent me only the diaphragm. When I complained they said tough luck -- the photos isn't accurate. They would not send me the cap and spring as shown.

STAY AWAY!
December 30, 2019

Ordered a part for my Honda. Immediately charged my card. Days later, no email confirmation, no part, NOTHING! I need that part to get my car running! Went to their so called Customer Service tab on the website and there is no way to inquire about your order. Says it's down. Probably because they are flooded with people they've ripped off. I wish I had checked their reviews before I sent them my hard earned money! We need a class action lawsuit.

Buyers Beware!
December 12, 2019

This company doesn't deserve a single star, but in order to comment I had to select it. I ordered an alternator for my 2013 Volvo S60. I entered all the information correctly on the website; however, they still managed to send me a part that A) looked nothing like the one in the photo and B) did not fit my car. It was guaranteed to fit my exact car. Anyways, I went to the customer service tab on the website to get some direction on how to return. Under that tab, I learn that the return process is a hassle, which requires you to enter your information and wait for a confirmation email along with a return number in order to process. I also learned that Parts Geek does not cover return shipping costs regardless of the circumstances! 4 days passed after I requested a return number, and I still didn't hear a word, so I decided to call. It took an act of Congress to get someone on the phone. When I finally was able to speak to someone, she rudely informed me that they would not pay the return shipping costs (although it was an error on their end) and that the policy is clearly stated on the website. The policy is under the customer service tab. It is not clearly stated throughout the purchasing process. Shame on me for not reviewing the return policy before purchasing; however, a decent company would have paid for their mistake! I expressed my feelings to the customer service rep and told her that I would never make another purchase from them and that o would warn everyone I know (including social media family and friends) what a horrible return policy Parts Geek has. At that time the customer service rep laughed at me and said. "Ok!" YesX you heard me right- the CUSTOMER SERVICE REP LAUGHED AT ME AND SAID "OK!" Unbelievable and unacceptable! So readers, please please please be aware of this before purchasing from Parts Geek! Oh and BTW, they require you to insure the package, so it's going to cost me roughly $50 to send the wrong alternator that they sent back for a refund! And one more thing- PartsGeek chooses which reviews/comments are posted on their website. That's why you see only 4 & 5 stars!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They have cheap prices for a reason. THEY SENT ME THE WRONG PART, after countless emails and phone calls, PARTS GEEK REFUSED TO REFUND ME MY MONEY. No moral ethics whatsoever. Spend the few extra bucks and go with Auto-zone.

Bad treatment. Called to see about returning parts that don't fit my truck. Hung up on twice. Expected me to pay for shipping back. I will have my bank dispute and contact BBB. I will have to go thru the manufacturer as over the counter companies not to be trusted

Purchased a $1700 driveshaft, supplied vin number to get right part. Spoke with Ken who assured me it was right. They sent wrong part. Called to speak with customer service who said to send it back asap they could not get correct part. Sent the wrong part back as instructed, asap. Sent Ken email stating all this, he said to send a picture of wrong part to get a refund for shipping. Which I did before shipping it. He swore it was correct part according to vin but it wasn't. Sent a picture of wrong part with a picture of old correct part. Clearly it was the wrong part. 3 days later he sent a label to send part back but as I stated the part was already sent back as per the company's instructions. Called customer service, was put on hold 22 min, call was then disconnected. Called back, put on hold again, then transferred to a manager who stated she was standing next to Ken when we spoke and would not be reimbursed for the shipping even though it was their fault sending wrong part and they sent the return label after I already stated the part was shipped back, never spoke with Ken (spoke with another representative) on the phone only through emails, she put me on hold for another 20 minutes. Call disconnected. This company is horrible. It cost me $222 out of my own pocket to return the part that was clearly wrong. I have numerous emails going back and forth trying to get this matter solved with no luck. Stay away. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!
