Using the chat feature was a but confusing. I spoke to two different operators who gave differing information. The misinformation caused issues for both of us, I ordered extra parts which I didn't actually need, and then I had to cancel the order.
Overall it was okay.
I purchased set of headlights for $400. Once installed none of the signal lights worked( front back side mirrors or hazards)and would blow the fuse. Bought and change the fuse again it blew fuse. There is some kind of wiring issue that compromised the circuit. I contact parts avatar they're telling me I have to buy another set of headlights for 400 pay for the shipping to return the defective lights and then pay for shipping to get another set of lights. So basically I'm paying for shipping three times. They will not return because they say they are use which they are clearly not! All I did was try them but they're defective so they're clearly not used. You can't call anyone there you can only talk to someone on chat and it's very difficult to get any help. They send you a link on how to do a form but the link doesn't even work. It's confusing it says page not found is absolutely horrible customer service I'm out $400 and I'm not willing to spend another $400 to get another set of defective lights that they will not return.

I order a part for a 2005 VW Passat 2.0L TDI front wheel drive. Upon receiving the part I noticed that it did not fit my vehicle. I contacted the support team at Parts Avatar and provided photographic evidence that the part did not fit. I was told that the part number was confirmed with the manufacturer to be the correct part for my vehicle and for this reason I would have to pay for the return shipping which is approximately 75% of the cost of the part. This is despite the fact that the policy clearly states that "fitment" is one of the reasons that a prepaid return label would be issued. The photo's sent clearly showed that the part did not fit regardless of the confirmation of the part number. As a result I have had to purchase a new part elsewhere and accept the loss on the part order from Parts Avatar.

I ordered the parts on Tuesday, the parts were processed on Thursday, waybill created for Purolator on Monday morning and it still hasn't been picked up by purolator as of Tuesday 3pm.
Parts are cheap but the rest is slow.
Ordered more parts from RockAuto (actually cheaper) in the United States on Tuesday and was delivered on Thursday and Friday. USA to Canada was quicker than Canada to Canada. Go figure.
Partsavartar process to delivery is always slow.

Usually always get what I ordered. If there's ever a mistake, its resolved quick. Only thing I think needs improvement is the packaging. Many times are my parts breaking through the packaging.
