About a month ago I decided that I needed so me things to spruce up my apartment. I've never shopped at overstock. Well now I guess I can't stop! I got some runners for the kitchen and living room. Amazing. Both are good quality, and look perfect. I also grabbed a lightweight blanket for the summer. Excellent! I didn't know they sold clothing too! I ordered a few t shirts that haven't arrived yet, but they should be here tomorrow. Shipping is quick! So the only thing I ran into that I didn't like. I ordered 4 curtain panels. I ordered grey patterned that looked really great on the site. But when I got them, they are more like sage. So I wrote a review on the site, and when I took a pic, they absolutely look grey even when I took the pic. So I called them to find out about returning them. All I need to do is open the email they sent me, pop the curtains into the package, and bring it around the corner from my house to a UPS return shop. They will scan the barcode that overstock sent me, and when they get my package they will reverse the charge. So easy. I will continue to use them.
Ordered a set of 2 barstools from overstock, I received one. No matter I thought. Overstock cares for their customers and will solve this issue. 2 Weeks of painful correspondence later in which I was passed around from person to person, they refused to fulfil my order and as compensation offered a "free refund". So they wished to simply sweep me along with the rest of their falsehoods under the rug. Will never shop with them again and encourage you to avoid any business with them as well. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
This is the 3rd time I have ordered overstock and they did not follow thru on the time I was supposed to get it.
How are they 3 1/2 stars here. Read the reviews. Worse company ever! I was never refunded all my money when I returned their low quality and damaged items I bought. It took many phone calls, many texts, and many emails plus a lot of time and stress to get partially refunded. The customer service doesn't know what they are doing. I received different answers from different customer service reps. I ordered several items. They are all shipped separately on different dates. Some items were badly damaged on arrival. All the items were low quality. And there's a strong smell like a chemical smell on the items. Everything is from China. Did I say-Worse company ever! I have never had such a bad experiece. It was shocking. It took over a month to get a partial refund. I guess that's how they make their money.
They sold me a dining room set that was not in stock. They took my money for a month. I actually ordered two extra chairs to go with our dining room set. I called them last night to ask why it wasn't shipped yesterday. They told me they canceled the order because it wasn't in stock. I sold my dining room set and hutch in preparation for the new dining room set! No email no warning nothing! Then I was told they wouldn't return my chairs because I had assembled them! NOT reliable! You lost my business!

Ordered a sectional and it was stuck in the shipping process for a month. When it finally shipped we had a delivery date and time no show, no call had to call the shipper and overstock to get no answer or no resolution. Shipper claims it was sent to wrong warehouse overstock has no explanation even though this is there contracted shipper.
Bottom line I know it's COVID, storm in Texas and the Suez Canal but over 6 weeks with no explanation or end in sight.

I purchased a bed (order #*******) and one of the boxes had a broken part. I contacted Overstock and I got a replacement days later. When I opened the other box to assemble everything, I noticed some parts were missing. I contacted them again so they could send me the missing parts and I didn't have to return everything.
Bottom line, It's been 20 days with no solution and they wanted to send me a whole new bed and force me to return the one that I already have assembled. Seriously, terrible customer service.
You will pay more to return the item than the item cost. Non-existant customer service. In addition, I found the same brand, same rugs for half the price on Amazon.
Can I give them less than a 1 star? Sent wrong item, lied about refund being sent NUMEROUS times. A month later, and still can't get them to refund my money.
I ordered an entertainment center through overstock.com. It was scheduled for a delivery date. Day of, did not arrive. I called them, they said that the item had arrived at their warehouse, but was not scheduled for a delivery. Scheduled delivery again and gave the # of my bf and my own for contact as my bf was going to be at the apartment all day awaiting the delivery. Day of, kept my phone with me ALL day, no call to me OR my bf. At the end of the day, contacted them, they claimed that someone tried calling me. I had no missed phone calls or a vm, neither did my bf. At this point, I just wanted to cancel and get a refund, which they agreed to. I proceeded to order an entertainment center through a different website. Next day I received an email from overstock.com saying that they would refund me, but I would be charged a $185 restocking fee. This was not explained to me when I expressed my wish to cancel and now I have ordered 2 entertainment centers and have neither of them! I emailed with a manager, they were not willing to let the restocking fee slide, so I scheduled yet another delivery date, specifying 3 times my phone number not my bf's this time as he could not wait all day this time. They called my bf's # and he had to cancel his physical therapy appt because overstock.com cannot get organized apparantly. I would NEVER order anything from this company again! TERRIBLE experience!
Overstock will NOT have your back if you get scammed by a third party seller. I have to do a chargeback to get my money refunded for an item I never received, even though my payment was made to overstock and not a third party.
Got a couch for 650$, expecting to get something of quality for that price. Couch shows up, and it looks like awful. Fabric feels like the same fabric used for a cheap suit, the legs are mad of cheap metal that was already bending from me screwing them in, and the only way was screw in the arms was to cut into the fabric under the couch, cause the flat out covered them up. I genuinely feel like i could have gotten something better for 200$ at any retail store. Add in the fact that the shipping to return it is over 200$, and you just have a perfect recipe to burn your money away.
I ordered an item that was missing a minor part. Rather than work to send a new part, customer service immediately offered no solution other than a return or a very small refund. They followed that up with a demand to accept their options or they would simply close the case. I do not recommend ordering from this company. It was the worst customer service I have experienced online.
I ordered something from Overstock and it was supposed to be delivered in 3 days. It never arrived so the day after I called to see why? They informed me it was on its way. A couple of days later I looked up tracking number and it shows it never shipped and when I called they said it had shipped but UPS lost it and would I like to order it again. They literally blamed UPS and threw them under the bus! I told the rep that I have an emali from them showing it had been shipped. SILENCE. I say I cant do business with unethical people please refund. Its been a week and today I called and they told me they are investigating the matter and I could expect refund in 5 days. Its been 3 weeks since I ordered. DO NOT business with these people as they are beyond UNETHICAL. BTW not the first time --its my 2nd and last time. I have all chats saved and phone calls so all can be validated. I have never seen such unethical behavior from a company.
Placed a order on December 5 2020. Today is January 28 2021. Never received the items and was never notified of and problems. Needless to say if they offered it for free I would pass.
After 11 weeks I finally received my leather couch. I had to call me bank to dispute charges because of the lengthy shipping time with no communication.
Once the couch was delivered the shippers assembled the couch. When they were gone I sat on the couch and the frame snapped causing the leg to bend. I can no longer sit on the couch. I immediately contacted overstock and they apologized and said that a shipping services would contact me soon to schedule a pick up.
Well yesterday I received an email stating that they determined the couch wasn't defective and that they would send me a part to fix. It's impossible to fix because the frame is cracked and secondly I didn't assemble it so why should I fix it? That is completely unacceptable! I requested a full refund the very first time I contacted them.
It has been a total hassle dealing with this company from the start of order till now.
To say that I'm pissed off and frustrated is an understatement especially since I have purchased another couch, which is being delivered next week. Since Overstock is dragging their feet to find someone to pick the damaged couch up, it looks like I will have two couched in my room.
I ordered a TV Stand in October 16. Said 4-6 week delivery. Not sure what the problem was, because warehouse said shipped, but it wasn't. Finally after 3 chats, and over 6 weeks later, got a "OVERSIZE SHIPMENT" person. Why this wasn't done sooner is beyond me. Finally delivered in Dec 9th. Second experience was today, where I just ordered a lighting fixture, thinking this should be way easier. NOPE! Got an email later today that said item "is out of stock, sorry for your inconvenience." Of course this was after it said "In Stock" when I was ordering. ARGH
Overstock.com will not price-match if you find the same item for less money from another supplier. They will tell you that you must join the Overstock Club at the time you make your purchase to get price-matching, but they don't tell you this when you make your purchase, thus they avoid price matching. There is absolutely no wording regarding price-match when you confirm and pay for an order on their website. I will not shop with them again.
We have all had some bad experiences lately with the shopping frenzy with covid! Right? Overstock has put it out there and does keep providing the best of service and shipping it can. I have purchased several items during this time because we also moved a business and to a new house.
So let me clarify how much this can mean when things also get shipped to the wrong address and Overstock sent us a new item because of that! That means a lot because even the could have said tough nuggies! :D So I don't think that was just a fluke. Also, we had some damaged items that were extremely large boxes aka. Chairs. The first representative was difficult in I tried to ask him how to fit these chairs in their boxes again to return them and then also to just get these in a car to return them? After some discussion, another representative through email did allow us to throw them away and replaced them- which was not fun either but part of life when ordering online. Since then we have had no problems and I have had purchased previously several rugs and items that had no issues.
Overstock seems to have much variety of items at usually the lowest prices as I am the "research queen" for the best deals! ;) With just the same investment for their CLUB you can also receive rewards for reviews (LOL which you all know I like) and also to give an honest one. Now, these rewards are nothing to think twice about because you get at times up to $12 -$8 apiece depending on the item price. So let's go! Right?! Also, Overstock is not shy about giving discounted promo codes so if you hunt or allow them to spam you - Yeah I said it but we all get it! ;) Spam is a part of our life ya'll! Let's face it! We can get money off so think of it as a job! Maybe you can see where the money is?
Overstock has now been in my life for many years but more recently the Club has made it better. I am a believer and it works for them because I go there first to see their stock and move from there. I know it's been hard for all of us during this time but I believe Overstock is trying to when some retailers are not as customer service focus. Thanks for reading! Happy shopping!
I bought several items in preparation of moving into a new address. First, they have no way to delay shipping until a later date, only 2 weeks. Second, they shipped one item and I received 2 emails simultaneously, one that it was shipped, one that it was delivered. The only problem? I hadn't moved in yet and I had no chance to call UPS to delay delivery( I had already arranged this on 2 items that had been sent out). When told of this screw up a SUPERVISOR tells me she can't do anything to fix it! I told her that I no longer wanted it and to return the item and give me a full refund and she insisted that I would have to pay for shipping to send it back, even though I didn't even have the item and it was their fault for not sending out the notice of shipment. In the end, I arranged for UPS to pick it back up, which they were happy to do but Overstock's Supervisor refused to do. Horrible customer service. I will never shop with them again. I gave them 3 chances to fix the issue and they never did and forced me to deal with it, as if I don; have enough to do with the holidays, works and moving.
Answer: Hey, I would be very careful. I have transacted with Overstock three times and I don't believe there is as much security in terms of guarantee as with Amazon. And, if you buy items fulfilled by Amazon (meaning the product ships from Amazon's warehouse) you are even more guaranteed. For example, I bought some dinner napkins from an Amazon seller, fulfilled by Amazon. They were not what they were supposed to be and Amazon issued me a credit immediately and scheduled UPS to pick up my item to return. I'm very confident that with Amazon you will get quality service and if the product is not as described or substandard you will be in better hands especially with Amazon fulfilled items. Overstock is just not up to par and I wouldn't purchase something like a medicated cream from Overstock until they get it together.
Answer: I used a credit card on Overstock when purchasing my bed. It was years ago, I still sleep on it. I had no problems using my credit card on Overstock
