Their website was efficient. Except for transparency. They add on exorbitant "processing and insurance fees" and shipping fees. These are not immediately apparent at checkout. What constitutes the final price is only apparent after you have placed the order. I will look elsewhere for my next contact lens order.
They dont even check if you have a prescription. On top of it it took me almost 2 weeks to get my order!
They sent my contacts to the wrong address and told me that I'm only eligible for a refund if whoever receives the contacts returns them.
They wait until the very end of the checkout process and add a bogus "Insurance and Processing Fee" That almost completely cancels the 15% discount code they give you. In my case the fees totaled 11% of the total cost. So overall you get a measly 4% discount. It's the old bait and switch and they know that you will still order because you need to be able to see. Just be honest from the start OptiContacts
I have used opticontacts.com for a few years now and I get what i need in the end. However, everytime i order contacts I end up frustrated. I hate hidden fees! It makes me feel tricked and ripped off. STOP doing this and be upfront or just add it to the original price! You have your items in the cart and it shows the breakdown of price, you continue shipping and then it puts an insurance and handling fee. Not happy. Second, Im computer savvy yet somehow i cant get where i need everytime i try to use this website. Simple things like trying to add contacts for multiple people. After adding one to the cart, it doesnt say continue shopping. You have to research for your contact brand. I went all over and couldnt figure out how to put in a code for a special they had.
I got an incredible price for the Acuvue Daily 30pk Astigmatism on OptiContacts, only to find out the ''insurance and processing'' add an additional 100$ which defeats their so called ''discounts''.
I used to order my contacts from this company but never again! They advertise cheap prices and you think you're getting a great deal but watch out for their "insurance and processing fee". I put 2 boxes of regular price contacts in my cart and both the shipping fee and the insurance and processing fee were lower than when the SAME 2 BOXES of contacts were on sale price. This company will make their money by raising their insurance and processing fees and shipping fees on "sale" contacts so you are not getting the sale price at ALL! This is completely deceiving and I will never order from them again! I have included photos of how the insurance and processing fee changed for the same contacts lens based on whether you are paying regular price or "sale price" from $8.26 to $26.38. Also shipping changed from $9.95 to $12.95 for same 2 boxes. Absolutely ridiculous!
I got 2 of the same exact contacts without the coupon the fee was $15.60 with the coupon $56.76. How does the insurance, processing fee, and taxes go up on the same exact item? The rep write me the reason why it went up is because of product storage costs, packaging costs (including the shipping materials) and other overheads such as the time cost associated with prepping and packing the products. It's the exact same product at the exact same time. Only difference is the coupon being added on. Also, with the price being lower the taxes would be lower.
SCAMMERS! Upon checking out of my order - I noticed a "insurance and processing fee" had been added at the very end of the transaction in the amount of $131! For 4 boxes of contact lenses. Basically, they advertised the low price for you to get onto their site, let you believe you were getting it after putting in your billing and shipping info, allowed you to see the same rate as you put in your credit card info, and finally when you were about to click on "checkout" - they added a $131 fee! I asked their customer support about this and they said it was "typical business practice for people finding their rates on google to have them adjusted later". Never again.
They attracted me with their low prices, then tacked on $145.22 for "Insurance and processing". It's out of network, so there's absolutely no insurance involved from their side, so nothing to charge for there. The only explanation for "processing" then is that the prices were too low so they had to make up for it. This is really deceptive and in my opinion this practice should be illegal if it isn't already. Avoid supporting this company at all costs.

I literally cancelled my contacts order through my insurance because I saw that OptiContacts marked them down. Now I have to re-enter my purchase. I will never be purchasing from them again even if they correct this. Probably one of the most misleading things I have ever dealt with on an online order.
Company boasts low prices but then adds an extremely large "Insurance and processing fee" to the order. This almost doubled the cost of my items. This is extremely misleading and I will not order from a company that uses such shady business practices. Very disappointed.
When I placed the order, there was no information about product back order delay or handling fee. But I did not receive my order within the promised delivery window and I was charge a $80 handling fee!
Found a deal for 2 boxes of accuvue oasys with hydraluxe for $70. I go to checkout and when I get ready to check-out, they tack on a $71 "insurance and processing" fee making the total bill now $141. Avoid wasting your time and money here.
My usual discount contacts provider was recently acquired by another company. That would have been ok but they didn't have my brand of colored lenses, Air Optic Colors, in stock. I tried checking back with there for a month and their go to response was "check back on our website in a couple of weeks." They were unable to provide a timeline when the lenses would be available. I found Opticontacts which had good reviews, good prices and my lenses so ordered them over the weekend. I was contacted by customer service to let me know they were out of stock but would have the lenses in 3-4 business days. They were good to their word and I was notified that there were shipped a couple of days later. I am very impressed with the level of customer service and communications provided by their customer service team. Thank you!
Seemed like a great price, ordered, given a $250ish total for 1 years contacts. Entered payment information, and AFTER it submitted the confirmation page said thanks for paying $500ish, with a 250ish 'insurance and handling fee' which was NO WHERE TO BE SEEN on the page where I gave them my money.
Phone number listed on the transaction reciept and my credit card page was invalid and went no where. I found another Customer service number and they say they cancelled the order... I'm suspicious. Very fraudulent transaction processes make me wonder if I'm going to have further trouble.
I went to google to search for Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism contacts. They were one of the websites suggested under Google Shopping's price listings. A box was marked at $13.99! Ridiculously low but the promotion was running! Too good to be true? HELL YEAH IT WAS! Free shipping on orders over $99? Another lie. I place an order for 10 boxes in total, 5 per eye. At check out I see the following: Subtotal: $489.90 "Insurance and processing" $146.20; Shipping $0.00; Tax $7.47; Online Promo Discount -$350.00; Total $293.57. The true total of cost per box comes to be $29.357. DOUBLE THE PROMOTIONAL PRICE. What is "Insurance and processing"? You would think it's related to eye insurance but no. It "Includes shipping insurance, processing and handeling fee." I'm sorry, but would that not be a price you include initially in your product fee? DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. NOT TO BE TRUSTED!
Do not buy or shop here. After you order they send email saying the price has doubled. Get you eyewear elswhere
Was about to put an order through thinking I was getting a great discount but lone a behold once you click "Continue to shipping" there was $280 of insurance and fees added to the order. This practice should be illegal.
Answer: They refuse to waive or refund. For me it was not disclosed until shipped.

Answer: This company is unethical. I ordered 2 weeks ago and still have not received. They assured me they would be here 2 days ago.
Answer: Good Luck with that! They lie and say there is a rebate and then when you ask for it they say it is already expired!
