… I definitely would!
I received the chair damaged during transportation. I immediately reported the problem to the vendor that, instead of filing a claim with fedex and helping me getting a replacement chair, put all the work on me. Because of the damage during transportation, the chair cannot be used: the cylinder sticks out (and scratched my hardwood floor when I took the chair out of the box to check it, as instructed by the vendor). And the base has deep scratches and the cover of the mechanism does not click back into place. The vendor told me I would have to figure out how to send it back and pay the shipping costs, so I accepted the vendor's offer of replacement parts. Today I received a new base and cylinder, without any instructions on how to replace them. I watched videos on youtube, and my husband and I tried to remove the cylinder without any success. It is a refurbished chair and the cylinder is stuck in place, we cannot manage to dislodge it. My husband is 78-year-old with 3 back surgeries. The right thing to do for this company would be to file a claim with fedex to get their money back, and send us a replacement chair. I'm escalating the issue with paypal.

BUYER BEWARE!

DO NOT order from this company.
They have no soul!
They lie, telling you product is about to ship, weeks later still no ‘valid' tracking number.
When I cancelled my two chairs, they sent me a bogus Pay Pal refund, when in fact paid with my Amex.
Thank goodness Amex dealt with them and got my card credited for the $1050 they tried to steal from me.

Don't do it!

I was excited when I found this website and could find the Knoll chair I was looking for at a discounted price for my new office. They advertised free shipping, free returns, and other great offers.

However, when I received my chair, I opened the box to find that each piece (arm pads, metal on the arms, seat cushion, wheels, etc.) was scratched or damaged in some other way. I reached out to customer service via email and told them that my chair was damaged and I would like to process a return. * (Customer "Care" Team) responded asking for pictures and told me that all of their chairs are restored. First of all, I would hardly call the chair that I received "restored"; it seems to be in a used, rough condition. Secondly, this note is hidden in the description of the chair and not clearly advertised. Once I sent the pictures evidencing damage to *, she responded that she could not see any damage... In my mind, denying what the customer is experiencing is horrible customer service. I am extremely unhappy with the communication I have received. Further, she told me that my return would not be eligible as a free return under their conditions because the chair is in usable condition; I would have to pay for return shipping PLUS a 35% restocking fee.

My lesson to you is that if you are looking to buy anything from this company, make sure you read all of the nitty gritty details. Scour the website because important details are not linked where you would expect to find them.

However, in my opinion, I would NEVER recommend this company to any other person. Good luck if you choose to buy from them!

You bought your chair for $299 while a new chair cost $1250 for a discount of more than 80%. During shipping, fedex and UPS can mishandle items causing a few marks on furniture.

Bought a Steelcase Leep. The headrest they included with it is, according to them, designed to pucture the leather back of the chair as soon as it is tightened.

Me: "Your claim is that the headrest is designed to puncture the back cushion of the chair after four days of use?"

I ordered a chair under the premise that they would "If for any reason you wish to return your chair, we will promptly issue a refund pursuant to our terms of service." This is a complete lie. I have tried to return the chair and they have refused over and over to send me a return label. This site is a scam. Stay away from it.

Stay away from this website! They say you can shop with "confidence" with free returns within 30 days but what actually happens is they don't tell you when your chair will arrive or when it ships.

I waited two weeks and cancelled my order after no communication on when it was shipping, the chair showed up 10 days after I cancelled (three weeks in total) at my door so I immediately emailed them saying I cancelled this order and would like a return label and refund. I was told my order was not cancelled because they shipped it anyway AFTER I cancelled and that unless there's a defect in the chair the CONSUMER has to pay for shipping and there's a 35% restock fee.

This business is a scam do not fall for it, order from a manufacturer don't end up wasting your money.

I ordered 2 Henry Miller chairs. The credit card was charged immediately. Their terms of service are buried under a link titled "Terms of Service" where it states chairs could take up to 14 days "to process" after the credit card charge. When I reached out to customer service, they stated it's 14 business days. OK that was transparent on the site, but OK. So I waited and the first chair was shipped within the 14 "business days". Unfortunately, I am still waiting for the second chair to be shipped and it is AFTER the 14th business day. The only way to get assistance is through email. When you call the number on the site, they direct you to email. They have one individual, Evelyn, who is the only one that replies to support requests. She responded in a timely manner initially. Now, when I have yet to see my second chair shipped, there is nothing but silence on their end. My only recourse is to post a negative review and dispute the charge for the second chair. Interesting fact, when you go to Yelp and look at their ratings, it's 1.5. On their site, its 4.8. Seems as they are filtering the negative reviews and are not being transparent on all the feedback on their business. And there is no way to post a review directly on their site.

I payed $700 for a chair. It lasted about 4 weeks before the seat started falling apart. I contacted them and they said they'd send a new seat. I waited two weeks, asked for the tracking info and they said it would be another two weeks. It's now three months of this same BS later, and FedEx still says that they haven't received it from them. I finally gave up and asked for a refund. They told me they would give me a 100% refund with no restocking fee. They made me pay for shipping ($400) I called UPS and confirmed that it arrived. I gave them all the info the need and they have blocked my email address. I don't even get the automated responses back. During all this I ordered a REAL HM Aeron, and compared them side-by-side. The materials used on a real chair are FAR higher quality than what they use in the refurbish, which explains why mine broke. This is NOT a legit business. They are scammers only. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Not a Scam

This site is not a scam. I was hesitant at first after reading so many reviews that seemed negative. However, the big picture is that the chairs are not new they are preowned and repaired. Some may come with a scuff or a scratch but the mechanisms work as they should. I bought two chairs from the company a SteelCase and an HM Aeron. The SteelCase came first as the high demand for Aeron means you HAVE TO WATE. (which seems impossible for people who are used to Amazon). The return policy starts as soon as the chair arrives and the company would like to know if there are any issues 24 hours upon arrival. That way they know if the issue was due to shipping, and most issues they would prefer to send a part for repair than returning the chair. I emailed the company multiple times to ensure I understood there terms & conditions and they were always quick to respond and concise.
I think this company has received a bad reputation from people wh:
1. Thought the chairs were brand new. (look at the price, these are not going to be new)
2. Made demands that were ridiculous and expected the company to cave to avoid a bad review.

I am writing this review because the number of reviews I feel are inaccurate or skewed is unfair to the company.

Horrible Customer Service! 0 Stars!

If you value quality customer service, STAY AWAY from *******@Work. I have been trying for over a month to get a full refund for a chair I returned (they issued 50%). They hide behind email and will not speak with you directly. I purchased 2 chairs – the first was my mistake because I ordered a chair with fixed arms and they were not high enough for me (I'm 6'4"). I returned that chair without issue. The second chair is where I ran into problems. I ordered another Herman Miller Aeron with adjustable arms this time and the other key feature I liked, based on the video on their site, was the ability to lock in the forward position. The chair I received would not lock in that position, so I traded email with a "customer service" rep and she told me, "No it does NOT LOCK in the forward position. Dream on. If you don't like the chair, return it!" (WOW!) At no time did she indicate I would not be receiving a full refund (as the site states). Her words: "We do not allow testing chair. You returned 2 chairs you were charged the restocking fee per our terms of service. You bought a chair without adjustable arms so that is what you got." After I argued my case she replied, "Sorry, nothing is defective." I asked to have a manager call me…crickets. I called the 800 number and asked the same…. Crickets. So now, I have no chair and am out $350. Never doing business with this company again!

Fraudsters

The do not send new refurbished chairs, they send very old chairs that they can not properly fix. Then when you ask for a refund they give a only a partial refund, they charge you a rental fee. Fraud. Attorney General should get involved in closing them.

I bought an Aaron chair from them which did not arrive for a month, they did not respond to the phone (going straight to voicemail) and I had to email them a couple of times so finally they send the chair to me. When I received the chair, I did not feel comfortable in the chair I requested return and when I returned the chair I didn't get full refund they kept half of the money I gave them. So I was out of money and I didn't have good chair.

Rude customer service

This is a terrible company. Ordered a chair and it was defective. Their customer service department argued with me that we did not assemble it correctly. We did. Sent it back and ordered another chair. The site said 5-24 days shipping. When I enquirer about the delivery date I was rudely told that their is 30-45 days "processing" on top of the shipping time. Stay away from this company!

I've been trying to contact the Officechairatwork.com Customer Support for more than 6 weeks without a response. I contacted Steelcase Customer Support today, Steelcase rep confirmed within a few minutes that Officechairatwork.com is not an authorized dealer...

Shame on me not checking this upfront, should have bought it from Amazon at regular price for the peace of mind...

The Steelcase also confirmed had I bought from an authorized dealer, it would have been a full replacement under the 12 years of lumbar mechanism warranty...

No zero star option?

No zero star option? My chair took just under a month to receive. A month! To be fair, they do say 14 business days to process. So that's almost 3 weeks to put a chair in a box and slap a label on it. ‍ That aside, I'd have been happy had I received what I ordered. For a chair with the "titanium base" that was obviously metal in pictures they sent black plastic that had been shoddily painted. The fabric color was wrong too. The "customer care team" literally said "LOL, We're not sending you anything" when I asked them to send the correct chair. Its little unbelievable. Crazy part is I don't dare send this
Wrong chair back. Read their policies. They have a 35% restocking fee to impose when they want and and other users have said they will not refund part of your purchase because of credit card fees, etc. So this could potentially cost me over a hundred dollars for doing nothing wrong, for returning something I didn't order. So I'm keeping this inferior chair that I didn't want that cost me almost $350. Please learn from my mistakes. Shop elsewhere. I know you're reading these reviews *******@work. Do the right thing; 1) Admit you sent the wrong chair and 2) Promise you'll send the correct chair if I reorder. I won't hold my breath.

Customer Service Doesn't exist!
After posting bad review https://www.trustpilot.com/review/officechairatwork.com - the chair was finally shipped and all I got is Old Model - Used, Dirty and Dusty chair without accessories that where ordered.
SCAM! What is going through people heads when they advertise 60% off from $1600 chair and send you garbage?

At first the customer claimed we never shipped. After publicizing the tracking number, the customer changed their story that the item was not in good condition. The customer is welcome to return for a refund as we have a return and refund policy for all customers for 30 days. I ordered a chair 1 month ago, I have heard nothing from them during this time. After reaching out today, they were quick to respond that they apologized and would ship my order NEXT WEEK, not this week, nor tomorrow, NEXT WEEK. I'll update once (if) I get the chair.

I ordered a chair from them and waited over two weeks until I contacted them to see the status of my order. I called and automated voice recorder said to send an email. I left a message which was never returned as well as sent an email which they responded at 3 am. They told me that it would be 30-45 days for my order to be processed and 14 days for shipping. That wasn't shared during the purchase process. They were very rude when communicating by email Wien continuous sarcastic remarks that they don't work from basements and that I should be more understanding during Covid. Easy to say when you just spent $1500 on an office chair. They refused to let me know if my order is shipped or not. Says I had to wait seven days for the refund or not. Go find another place that does drop shipment this one sucks.

They are not forthcoming about availability and delivery. I had cancelled my order with more than enough time to cancel and in her email reply even stated that it was not ready for shipping and would expedite in a time frame I would not be home. To be clear, they were already not meeting their published delivery schedule. If you choose this vendor, get details of availability and realistic shipping - otherwise you do not get a full refund - free $50 for them! DON'T BUY FROM HERE!
