Tried ordering some parts from them since they showed in stock. I needed the parts by the weekend and they showed I should receive it by thursday if I paid next day shipping so I did.
Order was still processing on Saturday, so I called to cancel. Was told it would cancel. Had to call again since it wasn't cancelled, promised they would cancel the order.
Then on Monday, order still not cancelled, person arguing with me and talking over me that it wasn't showing as cancelled (duh, thats why I am calling yet again).
Avoid, will never purchase from them again.
Do not buy in this place... their discount promotions are incomplete tools they are missing parts and they answer you in an email promising that they will take care of it when they have the missing part that the tool does not come with and they promise that they will send it soon... I've been waiting for almost a month for them to send me what I need... don't spend your money on this company...
The bench arm shown was gray and the pictures hinted toward a gray -- I received it, and it was brown -- called to send back -- they said I had to pay shipping and a 15% restocking fee - They are still in the Stone Age. I will stick to companies that treat their customer right. Will Never buy from them again!
As a first time purchaser I am disappointed with the way Northern Tool was indifferent to my problem.
I ordered Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/2" impact driver set with two batteries, plastic sleeve and impact socket set. Purchase was made on Dec 2nd, they debited funds from my card on Dec 4th.
FedEx to date has not delivered my package, only solution Northern could advise was to continue waiting (already did so for a week plus).
PayPal dispute filed, if they cared about customer satisfaction they would have shipped a replacement order and put stop on the other one with FedEx.
Instead they would rather earn interest with my money and provide nothing for it.
They lost my future business period.
Ordered a tool the 25th of November. It still says processing everybody acts like it'll be soon, and they just tell you what you want to hear and honestly, they don't care. It's been weeks and they are awful to deal with. Even if it's more expensive buy elsewhere.
Do Not order from these people. Part not in store, was told it would take 1 1-/2 weeks to get it in. Paid for it to be shipped to the store. Checked back 2 weeks later and had not left to the distribution center. Check back 2 weeks after that and it has been sitting in the distribution center (which is 4 hours away) for 2 weeks. Employees both on the phone and in the store could care less. They have my money and I have nothing to show for it, just empty promises. My first and last purchase from Norther Tool.
I was in the Northern tool and equipment store off Vance Jackson and 410 in San Antonio Texas. There were no sales people willing to help me buy a generator and a water pump. I needed help lifting and I had general questions about attachments. Nobody came after going to the front desk and asking for sales agent. A half an hour later still nobody showed up. All the while I was listening to a sales agent who stayed on the phone with a customer about a chainsaw, half an hour of listen to this discussion not even a "let me put you on hold, I'll be with you in just a second" explanation. I was going to spend $2400 on this equipment I walked out buying a $45 stepladder.! Northern just needs to shut its doors!
Bought a new Milwaukee m18 impact driver, it was defective, brought it back for a quick exchange, they told me I'd have to take it to be fixed, so if you're a mechanic and depend on having tools, forget it, they could care less.
Won't be doing business with NT any longer, your piss poor customer service just cost you thousands.
This company does nothing but lie and then scold you for not being happy that they did. I purchased a 11thousand dollar tool, and after a week of not getting any delivery information I called them. I was told the delivery that they gave me both over the live chat as well the order status was not true, it wont be delivered until January. How is it not illegal to NOT tell someone they are buying a backordered part? Northern tool is aware they don't have any, they are aware that they are lying. DO NOT DO BUSSINESS with this company. You will get messed over.
When will I ever learn to research a company first. So I jumped to their site to purchase a glue applicator on sale and even though it said free shipping whenever I got to the shipping page it was pay $39 to join their club or pay $8 for shipping this kit. Again, it says on the product page, 'free shipping'. No way I'm paying $39 and the shipping cost was more than the item I was buying so I thought, I've been meaning to buy this for some time, so I added a truck ladder. Shipping was still expensive but not much more than the ladder alone. You can't cancel an order after it's been shipped and the glue kit I bought was on back order. The ladder came bent up and they won't take it back, and the glue kit never was shipped. Because they said they couldn't order any more. As I said, you can't cancel an order after it's been shipped but what they do is create the paperwork to ship without actually shipping the item until several days later. The only good thing is that I paid a bit less for shipping on the ladder but I ended up with junk I can't return.
There's plenty of fine products made in China and elsewhere in the Far East, but my experience with this companies products has been uniformly bad. From the products and the customer service, this company stinks like 3-day old fish.
Don't buy anything from this $#*! hole company. 15 days later I have not received my order. Jerks for customer service
I don't want to be tod how busy a company is when they aren't doing their job in a timely fashion. 31 dats, five phone calls and no joy. Bad!
Purchased a new Honda motor it arrived with a broken engine switch. Not shipping damage as the box was in perfect shape. $9 part but cant get any help from Northern. I was disconnected twice after long phone wait times. Honda will not cover the part either as they said it was freight damage. I will never purchase from Northern again
I ordered a product (a wood splitter), but I never received it. Northern Tools says that FedEx delivered it, so Northern Tool says it's not their problem. And FedEx says it's not their problem.
Bottom line: I'm out $130. I'll never shop at Northern Tool and instead stick to Amazon. Amazon wouldn't make a shipping problem their customer's problem.
I ordered a heated power washer and the representative was great. The order was suppose to be delivered a week later which is why I went with them. Then I called the delivery company which was YRC a division on New Penn they said it would be there Thursday and they said Friday. I had guys and machine waiting there as this is a 500 lbs piece of equipment. Monday I called the YRC and they informed me they do not know where the package is, so I call Northern and they said they can not refund me.
Never sent and they ripped me off for $1100. They refuse to reply 2 emails since march cancel the order n they take ure money n i got nothing!
Ordered a truck rack with exact make and model of my truck on their website. They sent me the wrong rack and it does not fit. I'm being charged to ship the item back so then they can issue me a credit. The problem is: I need to pay the shipping back to there warehouse along with being charged a 15% restocking fee!... WTF! Called customer service and politely complained. They said there is nothing they can do for me even though they sent me the wrong truck rack! That's bull$#*!! Shipping the item back to them just cost me $139.00! I'm seriously going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. Will never do business with them again! -Ron Kramer

To make it short, I purchased a compressor from Northern Tools mid May, received compressor May 28 damaged. Today is June 12 and I still have not received all of my repair parts. Northern Tool tells I should expect the final repair parts by June 14. My new unusable compressor is sitting in my shop still attached to shipping crate.
They said that they delivered my order to the wrong address and I'm still waiting on my refund I have PayPal involved so I can get my money back is over $600 and is been 2 months avoid a headache don't buy from this people
Answer: Absolutely horrible, you get the rub around with emails containing same useless info from multiple people, shop elsewhere and save yourself the stress and anxiety
