I ordered a part from Northern Tool on line according to their description and it matched with my brand and model. Received the kit and the parts did not fit. Called customer service for a replacement, didn't seem to know what to do. Took over a week and multiple calls to finally get them to send me an RMA.

Whe I received the RMA yesterday I have to PAY for the return shipping PLUS get hit with a 15% restocking charge. None of this was my fault, however customer service did not seem to care. Finally got the RMA and I will pay to return just to close this out.

Poor Customer Service
April 12, 2016

Bought a PTO shaft for my tractor to run my seeder. Talked to sales, and they told me which one was for my seeder. The shaft broke after a week's use. In talking to customer service, this time they said that I needed a beefier one. Since I had already used the one they recommended, they could not take as a return. I forked out another $150, and this time the shaft arrived, I unpacked it, and noticed that the flange on one end had been damaged. Called customer service and they said that I should not have accepted the item. They would take a look at it if I returned it, but could not guarantee anything. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these people. I ignored the bad reviews and now I am paying the price. These are bad people.

They answer on customercare one time that they will provide my question to mr J. S****' and he answer " this was shipped to you" but it is not shipped, Now I get no answers from them.
Due to this site it feels like they are trying to loose their jobs!
Finally after threaten them with the chamber of commerce, I get all my ordered stuff, but it was taken a lot of effort time ande energy, took me 4 weeks extra. I was happy that the order was not too big

Buy somewhere else

Customer service was rude and inattentive. Instead of cancelling my order in a timely manner they ended up letting it ship. The whole experience demonstrated that customer service is poorly run and reflects poorly on the whole company.

Buy somewhere else... even if it's a few dollars more!

Normal Wear & Tear

This happen several years back. Before they changed their name from Northern Hydraulics.
But it has been a thorn in my side ever since. Have not bought another thing there.
I bought one of their top of the line hot water pressure washers. Their brand. $2200. Total.
The very first time I tried to use it. All the fittings and joints leaked. Water came out every where. I called them, and took it to the repair shop that they told me too. When I went back to get it. They would not stand behind their guarantee. Said it was normal wear and tear. So I had to pay to have it fixed.
I had not even used it yet.

Recently bought a 29 gallon portable gas walker online (it was not available in the store and was sent from manufacturer-not able to see it). Upon delivery we found it to be too large to get into our vehicle.

After calling Northern Tool customer service we were NOT ALLOWED to return it to a store in exchange for a smaller one. We had to pay shipping charges 3 times! Original purchase-return of product-exchange purchase. Northern Tool Customer service would NOT BUDGE!

No effort at all to help the customer. They said "it was OUR ERROR--so why should they have to pay for it."

I am an avid online shopper... this is unacceptable especially when an exchange is involved. Similar product on Amazon would have been exchanged without multiple shipping charges. BUYER BEWARE of your online purchases with Northern Tool!

I ordered a battery charger and it arrived crushed and we called customer service and they sent out another one it arrived crushed and what ups called retail packaging. We called in the third time on Wednesday and they were going to two day ship a replacement to us and it didn't arrive on Friday. After 3 weeks of dealing with this I've just about had it with this company. 3 weeks ago my credit card submitted payment to them and I have nothing to show for it.

I called and they would not honor a price match or anything else. The phone attendant was indifferent towards me stating they would never offer a competitors price match. I asked for an RMA# and returned it. I have bought several things from this site, now will not shop there again. Who needs to do business with sites like this?

I ordered a cast iron burner from them in August by December I still hadn't received it. They only communicated once in September, by letter, that there was a delay. When I called to check the status I was told by each rep. That they were back-ordered and they would receive some on such and such date to be shipped. Well, when such and such date came nothing shipped. I went through this several times with customer service. The very last straw was when I spoke to a rep in December that said the item was back-ordered again to January. Please note that I'd spoken to a rep that Monday who told me the item would be SHIPPING that Tuesday or Wednesday. I made this call on Thursday only to be told again of a back-order, not a shipping status as I was expecting. I asked to speak to a supervisor because honestly, I was fed up with getting the runaround. The rep came back on the line (not the sup.) only to tell me that no shipments of the products EVER came in since the date of my order in August. My question was why was I told that shipments were coming in and that they were being back-ordered when that wasn't the case? If I was told up front about production issues and the time-frame in which I'd receive the product, I would have been fine with that. However, non-communication and lies are not values of a company I want to do business with. So I got no answers, no help, most importantly no burner. I asked for a refund of the regulator that they actually shipped. They said they could do so with the return of the regulator and that they would send a return label. It's 1/6/2015 and I still have not received the label even though this call was made weeks ago. I'll NEVER do business with Northern Tool again, online or otherwise. This was hands down the worst shopping experience I've had in my 38 years.

Ordered a pair of John Deere boots for a Christmas gift. The reason I ordered from Northern Tool was because if they didnt fit he could take back to Northern Tool. Well they didnt fit and cannot take back to a store. Only way to get a refund is to mail boots back I cannot return at any Northern Tool store. So will NEVER order from them again. You have to return to manufacturers address and NOT Northern Tool. After paying postage you also have to pay a manufacturers 15% restocking fee. " DEC 2014

I had placed 2 orders for the same item, both orders haven't been deliver cause they can not give the package to FedEx or change and use their own UPS service.
This people are a clowns, they have been reported for losses up to $15,000 for their customers. If you can, avoid using this company
