I placed an order on 10/31 for a trash pump. I received an email on 11/1 asking me to confirm my shipping address. I called on 11/1 to confirm my shipping address. On 11/8, I called customer service because I never received tracking information and was told that whomever I spoke with on 11/1 did not remove the "hold" on my account. I was told my information is accurate and that the item would be shipped on 11/8 or 11/9. I still did not receive shipping information so I emailed customer service on 11/10,11/11, and 11/12. I kept getting the same response that it takes 5-7 days for the order to be "received." It is unclear whether this means it takes the vendoe 5-7 days to receive your order from Northern Tool (which makes no sense), or that it takes 5-7 days for the item to arrive at your door. It is 11/14, and my order is still "processing." I cannot fathom why it is so difficult for an order to be placed, received, and shipped. Unfortunately, Northern Tool seems to be the only company that sells the trash pump I need and I am at their mercy. I have been unable to live in my lakehome for 3+ weeks now because my septic is full and the trash pump is the only way to clean it out (as we live down a hill and a septic truck cannot drive down). I would highly recommend that nobody order an item from this company if you have other options.
I ordered tires mounted on wheels for my John Deere lawn tractor. One was advertised@$27.55 and then two tires advertised@ $69.99 both with free shipping. Well I ordered two at $27.55 it took forever. Three weeks ito the order I called, they said they would notify me when they shipped. I said disregard I'm cancelling the order. Then they sent me an email 5 minutes later telling me I can't cancel the order because the tires and wheels have been shipped. I'm happy with the wheels and tires but not the customer service. BTW they changed the cost of the tires and wheels.
They send me an Email titled In Store Fall Savings. Made special trip to store and nobody knew what I was talking about and wouldn't give me the prices in the email. False advertising and rude people. Will take my business somewhere else.
If I could give a negative number I would. I ordered a roof cover for my Polaris EFI 570 Ranger and they sent me the roof for a 900. They admitted to their mistake in the order and yet charged me $50 dollars to send it back. I reordered the roof part again the zipper broke on the first day right after it was put on. I called them and told them about the zipper and they say I have to wait to see if they will give me a full refund! I would run away from this company and go somewhere else with a reputable business name, even if the cost is higher.
I bought a $550 pump, installed it right out of the box, added gas (because you need gas to run it) and it did not work. So happy that I had purchased an extended warranty I returned it to the store for another one as it was one week old. Although I had drained it They were testy with me abut having gas in it but I had to see if it worked. Not only would they not exchange it but they charged me! 0% to restock a machine that did not work. Unbelievable! K I have bought warranties on weed eaters as well and they always found an excuse to claim 'user error' so they did not have to fix it but instead directed me as to what I should purchase to fix it myself. I will NEVER buy anything from this company again. Great sale prices but when you need help with a piece of their equipment (with warranty in hand) they give you every excuse of why they will not fix it.
Am sure they will be clossing down soon. Too many gentle customers ripped off. Kept my machine for alittle over two months as they initially gave me at most 2weeks to repair it. Their old mechanic could not finger out how to attach my parts so they bought their tripling prices. They then charge terrible labour just because someone took their sweet time to do a 45min job. On asking him, he had no clie how to run the machine. They then give me a bill equivalent to a new machine of the same. A rude manager namely steve tries to give me a rude face! He needs to get fired. Am taking it with their head office then edit this. I should have read their reviews!
I placed an order via Amazon which indicated freight by a trucking company but did not indicate I would have to remove a 240lb product myself off of the truck. I submitted email request for accommodation with a response to call and pay $85 to have truck with lift deliver it. My follow up email indicated I could not physically remove the item and further requested copy of the verbiage stipulated in the company's response. My response from them was the same (to pay $85 to have delivered). The unprofessional tone of their C/S email had me livid; so I called and waited 25 minutes to hang up because CS left me on hold. I emailed to cancel the order and refused delivery. They "strive" to make the customer happy yet treat customers in this manner. Ridiculous! Hope to prevent this from occurring to another consumer.
Purchased a post hole auger back in November used once, still under warranty, went to the store for repair was asked to come back in one week to drop off, they were 3 weeks behind, if I come back in one week then you will be 4 weeks behind, manager Robert Bruch got snotty, made the statement"Ya'll got all the answers" talking about me/us the customer. He finally said you can leave it but we want look at it for 3 weeks. I ask for his managers number after hesitation he gave me a number scratched on one of his business cards. I AM DONE!
I bought a 1/2 titan ratchet there and was a lifetime warranty and they would exchange it with no questions asked, well they now don't sell it and was told I have to go to titan company itself. That's not good business. They now sell clutch and could have replaced it with something equal the same. Well they lost me as a customer. I drove out of the way there to get stuff.
I ordered a planar combo for $600 which was supposed to be delivered by this past Wednesday. When I called after 30 minutes of holding, they told me that it was back ordered for another month. I asked them to cancel my order and I was assured that they would. Two days later I get a call saying it's still on it's way. Wont get it for at least another week, and if I dont want it, I have to refuse delivery and lose 15% of my money to a restocking fee. I thought I was dealing with a reputable company but their customer service and attention to detail has been negligible. They couldn't even provide a tracking number for this order.
Finally had to cancel my order. Worse customer service to deal with and all they want is your money. Canceled after waiting and waiting.
Had our companies power washer for over two months without results. Had to send general manager of our company to the store to get any king of results. As of right now our company will not spend another dime with this company. Northern Tool doesn't place any valve on customer service and it shows. A pitiful bunch to say the least.
I purchased a fan online 7/16 and had a $20 off coupon. Call Plano store to see if theyd honor online coupon in the store. They said no so I purchased it online. Well Amz & Ebay ship free buy N Tool was $20 so I do in store pick up and get del date 7/23 - 8/1. So theres no tracking mechanism so I call Cust Serv 7/25 and they said the truck departed but he said call the store to see when they expect the next truck del. I call Plano and as im telling the lady I got it online she interrupts me to tells me they have nothing to do with OL orders. After I explained it was a store pickup she said she didnt know when the truck was coming. Asked if I wanted to talked to the mgr who was busy. I said sure and gave her my digits. I didnt get a call back and was leaving town. I called back an hour or so later and still nobody knew when the next truck was due. As soon as I hung up I got an email and then a phone call. My order was at the store. So It was being unloaded while I was asking for an ETA on the phone.
This company is awful. I ordered a welding mask for my son. He ended up not needing it. Their returns are weird. They contact the manufacturer and you need to wait for their return request form. I waited a few days. Then they charge you 15 % to "restock". The return forms sent were from Northern Tool. They like to screw you around and take your money.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY (if it really is one)!
I ordered a tool chest online. There was no back order at the time of order.
Immediately there was some problem with the delivery, so I called the company to work it out.
Then I was told the item was on back order for a few days.
When I did not receive shipping verification within a few days, I called back.
I was told that the item was now on back order and would take 6 weeks.
As I was not in a particular hurry to get it, I was ok with that.
When the 6 week period expired I received a letter from the company explaining that there was a further back order for another 30 days.
As this was the little that I could wait for this item, I was concerned at that point, but I accepted the additional delay.
At the end of this period, I received another similar letter asking me to wait again.
I called Northern Tool and Equipment and told them to cancel the order. I was told that my credit card would be refunded in 1-2 business days.
After monitoring my credit card for a refund for 2 weeks, I called the credit card company to investigate. I was told no such purchase appeared on my card.
After chatting with the credit card security services, we jointly decided that this is probably a PHISHING SCAM to gain valid credit card information to be sold on the black web or otherwise.
The decision was made to cancel my credit card and re-issue an new one.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Deal with this company and you are giving someone your name, address, phone number and credit card information and are not likely to get the product that you think that you ordered.
I went to the NT in Memphis, on Summer Ave. To shop for a floor fan. Leon assisted me in finding what I was looking for. He was very polite and helpful, even checking the online price which saved me $40 on my total cost. Because he went above and beyond in assisting me, I purchased a second unit that I had not planned on purchasing. I wish all stores had role models like Leon. Customer service is the backbone to any successful business. Please acknowledge his work ethics.
Ordered equipment in May, after it was ordered I was informed it was on back order. After a month I contacted customer service to check on a expected date. On July 2 I was told the equipment was arriving at their store on June 29,3 days previous. They were unable to send the item or verify that they had it. I asked to cancel or if I could get another similar item and they canceled my ordered. I was told they would work on my refund but couldn't tell me when to expect it. Poor customer relations, wont shop here again.
I ordered some items on June 2nd and 4th. One item was coming from the manufacturer and the others are coming from the warehouse. Now it's June 22 and no part of my order has come yet. I later was told that my order won't ship on the 18th. Now I was told my order would ship on July 2nd. I order some chains and binder and a gooseneck kit. NowI can order the he gooseneck kit on Amazon and get it in 3 to 5 days. I was told that my order was coming from the warehouse and it will be here on the 26th. Now my trailer is ready to be picked up and I can't get it until I get my hitch. Two days of work is lost here because they couldn't get my gooseneck kit; in which I could have ordered from Amazon. I put this order in the same day they started to build my trailer. O YEAH THE WAREHOUSE IS ACROSS THE HIGHWAY AND NONE OF MY ORDER COULD MAKE IT ACROSS THE HIGHWAY IN 3 WEEKS.
AMAZON WILL PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS. IVE ORDER GOOSENECK KIT ( SAME BAND) FROM AMAZON AND MY ITEM WILL BE HERE ON SUNDAY. THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK INTO THERE STORES AGAIN. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.
I ordered 3 parts, 2 in stock 1 out of stock, after a month i called. The order was cancelled due to wrong billing address. After straightening that out they said that would ship the products. After 2 more weeks i called again, the parts were at a UPS facility 100 miles away and they couldn't be delivered because N. T. messed up the delivery address this time. After 1 more week i called N. T. again and was told that i had called the UPS facility and told them i would be picking up the package. I cancelled my order and will never do business with this company again. NORTHERN TOOL IS THE WORST!

Terrible customer service, on hold for way too long. Website is not clear about extra charges for shipping (lift gate service). I purchased this and found out that the truck comes on the street and off loads the item, you have to take it from there. I have a long driveway and am 61 years old, pleaseeeeee. I could have ordered the item from Amazon and gotten FREE shipping. Delivery dates are a joke, when you order it says estimated delivery, ha ha Im still laughing. Ordered the item June 10 and it will be delivered July 10. A month WOW I could have had it from Amazon in three business days. Never ever again will I order from this terrible company.
Answer: Absolutely horrible, you get the rub around with emails containing same useless info from multiple people, shop elsewhere and save yourself the stress and anxiety
