Support team found a work around when the VPN started blocking all internet traffic when connected. Able to respond within an hour or two with options.
I signed up for a 3 month plan. The service mostly worked well enough. HOWEVER, be advised, they auto renew and bill a full 2 WEEKS in advance. I was planning to cancel the service before the 3 months was up, had it on my calendar with a reminder. But, they don't want you to cancel, so they bill you 2 weeks early. I contacted them as soon as the confirmation hit my inbox, but they refused to cancel/refund me. Said it's in the terms and conditions. I asked if they could just refund the renewal as a courtesy, but they don't do courtesy. And so in 3 months I will never do NordVPN again.
I was unable to sign in to my Nord VPN account on my iPhone and contacted the Nord Support Team.

I've had some problems with so called 'smartdns' service while using it to access Disney Plus. I've raised an issue with NordVPN support.
Their first reaction was - all problems are on my side)). Despite a fact that problem with service only arose during the peak periods. But they was deaf to my arguments and kept continuing to blame me.
As a result I've bought subscription for other VPN service and all works perfect on the same setup.
Even after this support of NordVPN stated that they have no problems on their side and can't make a compensation for me for all inconveniences.
So I can't recommend this service due to it's quality deaf and ignorant support.
The patience and effort Theodore put into solving the problem was outstanding and it was not an easy feat. Kudos to him.
I purchased Nord VPN because they advertised 24 hour service. (FALSE!) I am in a South Africa. I have to wait long periods of time to get a response.
I bought Nord despite it's high price, because I want something effective. Day two, my VPN started giving problems. It is almost a week now, and I am still trying to get it sorted. Getting fairly fed up! Pity, because I like the program.
Have had nordvpn for almost 5 years now. Speed has usually been ok. Problem has been with massive use of memory, especially with committed memory. It's gone as high as 20 GBs by Resource Monitor, and then working memory goes up as well. Once Memory Commitment starts hitting >10GB, I lose the ability to pause, to move to another server, to basically use the vpn. I have to end the process, which also disconnects me from the internet, despite not having the kill switch activated. This started over 6 months ago. I first tried using their "chat" function, but the tech I got took a quick look at my Task Manager and condescendingly ended the conversation with, "there's no problem." I let it go, but the problem continued. Finally, ~3 months ago, I started sending notices of problems to customer service, along with screen shots of my Resource Monitor and the Ticket numbers for Diagnostics. We are now at ~50 emails back and forth and yet today there has been NO FIX! Here are the numbers at the moment ("Commit"/"Working"): Nordvpn.exe - 16,100,816KB / 1,370,334KB; nordsec-threatprotection-service.exe - 5,810,756KB / 572,384KB; nordvpn-service.exe - 851,228KB / 178,292KB. Ridiculous! And no fix in 3 months. Just the same ridiculous canned responses from customer service thanking me for reporting and assuring me that they are "there to help." NO HELP WHATSOVER! But they were very quick to assure me also that there was no refund of the remaining >1year of service I've already paid for. As soon as Proton vpn has their next special, I'll be switching and dumping nordvpn, even knowing I won't get a refund.

I was a big fan of NordVPN for a long time, but after being a customer for 3 year, I watched a YouTube video showing that they track their user's activity and were ranked one of the worst in several categories of a consumer reports article. I then asked for a refund only a few weeks past the 30 days of my fourth yearly subscription, and they refused to refund my money. They lost me as a customer. Instead I recommend Mullvad VPN, which ranked #1 on the consumer reports article.

Basically an ok VPN no better or worse than any other Imo.
However they seem to have a habbit of taking money from people that have cancelled their memberships if mine and others experiances are anything to go by.

First off, tried this for a year. I travel a lot. At almost every city I was in, a simple ip lookup revealed location, almost every time, even though Nord said it was active and connected. I would have to disconnect to visit several sites, as switching servers didn't always work. Then came time to cancel. I went to the website. Turned off 'auto renew'. (Have screenshots.) Waited for term to end so I could delete Nord completely and go with another VPN. All of a sudden, my credit card gets billed another year! When I contacted Nord via chat, I was told 'canceling the subscription via our website does nothing'. Even though on other review sites I've seen, that's exactly what they've told others to do, to cancel! I even sent him one of the screenshots showing I canceled. He kept referring me to Apple. I only took the screenshots a few weeks ago because I read the other horror stories of people trying to get their money back, or having the same issue. You can clearly see at the top of the page when I turned auto renew off, and when I was eventually billed again, after that date. As with so many others, contacting my cc company. As i've posted elsewhere, You've been warned
I subscribed to NordVPN for a trip outside the USA and found the performance marginal. Lots of freezing while streaming requiring me to select different VPN sources. Also, they burned me on the auto renewal buried in their Terms. I missed canceling the auto renewal by hours and they said there was no way to cancel the charge. Seriously! I recommend using Proton or Surfshark if you need a VPN.

NordVPN will nor refund over £100 they have taken without my permission. I have been with NordVPN for 2 years & decided not to renew. I let my account run out & told then I wish to cancel my subscription. They took 1 year subscription without my permission. They did this from a visa card that was changed 3 months ago & new cards issued yet the still took my money from my account without my permission. In other words they hacked my account. Do not use this VPN they will not let you cancel. They will not give you your money back after they have taken it by hacking.

Hello Ken, rest assured we didn't hack your account. Most likely you did not disable auto-renewal setting on your Nord Account panel and thus your plan got renewed automatically. This is all described in our Terms of Service to which you've agreed when purchasing an account with us. As a result, our support team was unable to issue a refund for the second term. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
This used to be a great VPN. Simple and effective. But Nord has increasing quality issues across multiple platforms. It either won't let you login, or when you do it won't connect, or will run into updating issues. On top of this, they will renew your subscription at an exorbitant rate, and refuse to refund you if you come across quality issues like I did. A VPN that doesn't connect is broken, any way you slice it, and customers deserve to know that this once great VPN is no longer what it once was, and that their customer service is just as terrible as their product is. It's time for everyone to start evaluating other options.

In terms of subscription renewal, upon purchasing an account, you agree to our terms of service, stating that subscription will renew automatically for then current price unless auto-renewal is disabled on your Nord Account settings beforehand. Unfortunately, I have experienced difficulty accessing the Nord servers in Iran and despite contacting customer service several times, I have received the same unhelpful response each time. In my experience, this has led to a lack of customer satisfaction. I would recommend exercising caution before investing in a service that may not be able to meet your needs in the specific region.

I am not sure how Nord vpn even gets 2 stars. Is there a negative star rating? The vpn has worked before. Actually 5% of the time. That is if you continually reboot your computer. I was billed at a higher rate on the second year renewal and when I complained they refused to issue a refund and compensated by extending my subscription by 18 months.
1 year later they bill me AGAIN although my subscription is still active for another year+. When I contacted them for a refund they refuse once more and say that my services were set to expire because I was on a 1 year plan; never mind the fact that I have years and years of active service because they seem to not believe in refunds. Once they have your money they will not return it.
Kayla was very prompt and efficient in resolving the issue (a double transaction). She understood immediately the problem, zeroed in on the information she needed, and proceeded to solve the problem. Her help is much appreciated.
