Basically they activate auto renew without ur approval. Got billed another month without wanting to. I only used their VPN for a few days since it was slowing down my pc and disconnected me from my internet connection constantly
I signed up to use a VPN so I could access some streaming services back home in Australia. When I went onto Nord's site, they had a big banner that said '30 day money back guarantee' - after I'd signed up and installed the VPN, it became clear that the streaming service I was trying to access had some kind of VPN blocker, so I couldn't get the benefit of using the Nord service and had no use for the subscription. I wrote to Nord asking for a refund, noting their own '30-day money back guarantee'. They first refused to acknowledge their guarantee, then made me apply for a refund through Apple, which then rejected my request, and have made it really difficult to get the refund, which they have still not issued. They basically lied about their 30 day money back guarantee, which is a breach of consumer law. I can't speak to the quality of their product having not used it/not been able to use it, but their customer service is shocking, and their advertising practices are dodgy/disingenuous. On principle I'd go with a different provider, since I've been ripped off and they lied about their guarantee. Better companies are out there, that have integrity and maintain good faith with their customers and prospective customers. Support one of those instead.

However, from the details you have provided it seems that you may have purchased NordVPN subscription from App Store, which is subject to Apple App Store refund policies. As a result, we are unable to offer 30-day money back guarantee for purchases made via App store.
Watch out for their automatic renewal and billings. I initially signed up, but did not intend on purchasing an ongoing subscription. They advised me I am not entitled to a refund as per their Terms of Service.

Upon purchasing our service, you are informed about and agree to a recurring subscription, which you may cancel anytime in your account settings. Also, we send email reminders to inform about upcoming charge, in case you no longer intend on using our service.

I've always had a problem connecting to my bank account when this piece of *******@sh is active. My bank will simply won't let me sign in.
I've contacted their support nuuuuuuuumerous times and every single time they ask the same exact same questions. I provided answers to their questions, and even sent screenshots of the error message I always get, to no avail. Believe it or not, they still ask the same stuuuuuuuuuuupid questions over and over again
I finally gave up and asked them to cancel my subscription and refund my money in full.
Their response was " sorry you have passed your 30-day refund period and we can't do partial refunds "
STAY AWAY... it's not worth the money and aggravation.
Any respectable and trustworthy business will stand behind the product / service 100%.

The worst service i had ever seen. It works only 30 day then stoped and doesn't connect. Wrote to support team but they send different methods for solving it but none of them worked. Support team doesn't know how to solve it, just sends links and says correct it yourself tried all the ways but none of them helped. I asked refund monthly fee, i will use anther vpn service but they did not want to refund. I see that there are more users have this problem.

Often VPN connection can be affected by other software installed on the device, native settings, etc., therefore, extensive troubleshooting is required. The website had a glitch such that its back-end system did not register me turning off its auto-renewal function. I only realise it until three months later that I was still being billed for the VPN subscription. I demanded for a refund for the extra months of payments when I did not use the service at all. However, the staff (Steve) attending to my request refused citing that they are unable to verify my claim and I was not able to produce a confirmation email on the cancellation of renewal. This is shocking as it was never stated in their contract terms that I should expect to receive such an email confirmation upon turning-off the auto-renewal function. The lack of clear instructions on opting out an automatic opt-in service design is dodgy and constitutes a grave form of customer negligence, which they refuse to acknowledge and amend. I find the experience super disappointing and I believe such unethical business practice should be condemned.
Hello Jacie, indeed it seems that you did not follow through with the auto-renewal cancelation process and due to our no-logs policy, we are unable to verify whether or when our service was used by a particular user. On an iphone you constantly have to keep logging in. They will sell you a password manager though.
On a windows machine the software hangs around too much when you're not using it. Their solution to the witeguard issue is to stay camped on port 443 and to have a few processes constantly running on your system.
And last but not least, many have experienced the software just dropping the connection without the kill switches cutting in.

A little over 2 years ago, I decided to purchase NordVPN for 2 years. From the beginning, I noticed that NordVPN will not run if my AV is running in the background. So, every time I wanted to use NordVPN, I had to turn off my AV. I communicated this with their support team through email from get go. After multiple rounds of emails going back and forth, they could not fix the problem. At the end, they told me that I should not use AV when I want to use NordVPN. I told them does your software protect against viruses? They said "no". I asked them why you didn't tell me this from the beginning. They had no answer. I wanted to cancel my deal with them and they told me I cannot because I have passed my 1 month grace period which I was not aware of. Nobody told me there was 1 month grace period. I found their product "garbage" and I will never purchase their products or recommend them to anyone.

Just reiterating everyone else's responses... it's an egregious effort to cancel auto-renew and they deliberately do it, to obscure and obfuscate instead of making said process easy. Go $#*! yourselves, Nord. Take your business elsewhere, my dudes, and don't sink your money into these greedy $#*!ing $#*!s.
Overall, content with Nord rather than satisfied. It does the job but isn't without quirks and issues. The main issues are the speed of some of the servers (but not all) and websites blocking nord servers. Overall though I have Nord for security and it certainly appears to do that well. The speed of some of the servers is lacking at times. There is also an issue with some of the servers being blocked by websites/services.
Hello David, indeed if you notice speed drop while connected to a specific server it often helps to switch to another one. Regarding some sites blocking VPN IPs, it isn't exclusive to NordVPN as it block access regardless of the vpn service used. Online security that you cannot trust. They are scammers. Watch out for auto renew. They don't refund an auto renew even if you didn't authorize it. Every user should call there credit card company to get a charge back so this company goes bankrupt. Scammers

You cannot call them. I spent 45 minutes online chat, and they tried to bypass my problem. They could not solve it. They will not log into my computer to see the problem and then when I did everything they asked me to do, it did not solve the problem.

I singe two years contract for VPN two years for reasons I don't want any more Nord VPN and they are refused to cancel the subscription and refund my money. Now for a month I have been a customer of Nord VPN by force and advice stronger don't do any business or unless you want to be a customer by force
I bought six years of vpn service. I started noticing that I was unable to use Google and many other government sites.
I reached out for refund. They said we give 1 month policy. I told them to keep 1 year but refund for next 5 years. They ignored. Please review email from this company. Be cautious
Nord, operating out of Panama has no customer service phone # and after creating a complaint ticket they use a different person on each email for one issue. Nord is highly compartmentalized to hide the fraud as much as possible. Nord has installed firewalls in their policies that invites fraud and misfortune. Nord will enroll you into auto pay even if you buy a single month subscription even when you check that box not to accept auto pay.
Nord will roll one into auto pay and never notify that customer. Secretly billing and pilfering one's account is the Nord business model. Their employees are vapid, gaslighting clones willing to fleece customers because they chose to be employed by these fraudsters. It is a bottomless pit of lies and cons.
They ripped me off for $140. They accidently sent me an April 2022. Billing notification, which was their first one. That alerted me to the fraud but do not worry it is all part of their Terms of Service.
This app is nice for the VPN protection but unfortunately isn't worth the hassle on Android and Win10. Multiple issues, including very slow speeds, connectivity problems and blocking key content (particularly feeds) on websites.
NordVPN's main business appears to be in luring new clients in with a good deal and then refusing to refund when they discover the app doesn't work well. That's what happened to me. Service worked ok at first, then took a nose dive and now they won't refund me any amount of my 2yr plan. Many others report auto-renewal scams and, based upon the fact they won't refund me, I'm concerned they have my payment info now. This is more scam than service it seems. It's tricky because there is a service in here so it seems very legit on the surface.

Yesterday, after an update, ping times went from 20-40ms to 200+ or timed-out. Their solution: NONE!
After one be month trial I thought I cancelled my account and removed the app from my laptop. 4 months later I see they were still charging my account. I logged back into the account and discovered it takes multiple pages to actually cancel the account. Buyer beware of their trickery. They were unwilling to refund any of the money. So are you sure you want to sign up with NordVPN? Are you sure? Are you sure?
I had only taken a 1-month subscription, NordVPN auto deducted the amount without my permission after 1 month.
And it was not made clear to me that auto deduct was enabled. This is clearly a Ponzi scheme and when I asked them to refund the money they didn't.
They have a substandard product and I paid an extra 12 EUR for just one month. Never gonna use it again.
Watch out for this company. As others have said (wish I'd read the reviews before I tried) they make it difficult to cancel and even when you do they might still take your money for time you didn't subscribe to. Customer Support is worse than useless. You've been warned.
