I purchased some deals from nCrowd back in Feb 2015; 3 months later I asked them where are my orders and they said their stock ran out (and didn't even think about contacting me about this), so they will offer me 2x the store credits. I didn't find any deal I like after that so didn't really use it.
Just last night (ok maybe I should have noticed it earlier) I found out they are broke and changed their name to BoomStreet, and they are not giving people their money back! I still have ~$70 with them, the least they could have done was to inform customers they are closing down and remind us to use our store credits, but no they didn't even do that.
Praise the Lord - I called my bank (ScotiaBank), at first the lady said they can't do anything because the transaction was more than 90 days (as I expected and I don't blame them), but when I asked them what I should do in this case, she asked around, transferred my call to the dispute department - and they decided to dispute the transaction for me!
If nCrowd still owes you money, call you credit card company asap and tell your friends not to go anything related to nCrowd/Boomstreet!
I bought two vouchers from N Crowd (now called BoomStreet) - and both merchants are no longer honoring vouchers from them as they have not paid them. NCrowd are not refunding customers like me and are giving us store credits to use on other services. I do not want to buy anything other services from them as I believe they are scamming both merchants and consumers. Beware! I am going to seek advice from Citizens advice as what they are doing must be illegal!
I purchased several voucher through Ethical Deal. NCrowd took over. I tried to redeem a voucher, but the merchant refused to honour it. I contacted NCrowd, who promptly issued me 'credit' to my account. I was okay with this, as I figured I could use it on something else. I went to access two of my vouchers today, only to find that all websites and accounts can no longer be accessed. They went out of business and have over $200 of my money between unused vouchers and 'credit'. That will never be returned. They knew full well that I would never be able to access this credit, which is why they seemed more than happy to issue it so quickly. This sucks.
Bought some coupons a few weeks ago, and the merchant has told us that they won't accept them as ncrowd has gone bankrupt. NCrowd website is completely down - some company "acquired" them, but won't give a refund - FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD
I purchased a custom canvas deal from EthicalDeal.com ('powered by nCrowd') in June, and decided to use it in early September. When I logged on to redeem it, I noticed that I couldn't find the vendor associated with the deal. I emailed nCrowd's customer service and received a reply saying that the vendor is "no longer able to honour" their vouchers, and that I would receive a credit on their site instead of a refund. At first, I thought that the vendor was the bad party, but after reading the reviews here, I don't blame them for no longer honouring nCrowd's vouchers.
I was also disappointed that I wouldn't be receiving a refund, but thinking that nCrowd was a legitimate business at that time, I was OK with the credit, as I thought I would be getting another deal sometime in the near future. Lo and behold, Ethicaldeal/nCrowd's site stopped having deals up on their sites in early October, and when I emailed them asking when they would have deals again and whether I can get a refund instead, I received the same stock answer that everyone else did - from the same person who replied to me initially! (See pictures)
I may have only lost $23.20, but it is money that I could have spent on a legitimate business, and the way that this business has scammed so many people here upsets me. I wish there was a way to shut Boomstreet down as well. If only we could shut down their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BoomStreetUS/
So ridiculous how they can just come back under a new name to scam more people.
I had a $67 credit from the purchase of an item that was never delivered and now they have changed their name to Boom Street and will not give me my money. Liars and cheats. Do not waste your money! Would give 0 stars if I could...
Ordered an item and was told that it was lost in shipping and that they were now out of stock. Was offered a credit with 10% more for my trouble but told them to credit my credit card as I didn't know if I was ever going to order anything again. Good think I did according to the other reviews. I have used Groupon a few times and never had any trouble.
Like everyone here, they will not honor my credit. They basically said too bad.
They think they can get away with their dirty business but they will not. THEY ARE GOING DOWN. Everybody needs to files a complaint with the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. This is how we can bring them down.
This is what I wrote:
Hi there,
Can someone explained to me why should I pay $63.20 when I was told that paying 79 dollars is Good for a year Online 160-Hour TESOL/TEFL Certification to Teach English as a Second Language at InterTESOL?
I would not been paying $63.20 to them. Kindly provide Tesol the remaining balance so that I can continue my course as soon as possible.
Regards,

Thank you for contacting BoomStreet. I am so sorry for the inconvenience! We recently acquired the rights to the name and email database of this company. Unfortunately, the company as it previously existed is no longer in business.
We did not receive the revenues or any transaction data in regards to your purchase. I sincerely wish there were more we could do to help!
I made my first purchase late this summer and never received the product. I was given a credit and a small bonus as compensation. Fortunately I was only out of pocket $15.00. I used the credit for a second purchase and to date have not received the product. In response to my email asking for help this is in large part the response I got:
Thank you for contacting BoomStreet. We recently acquired the rights to the name and email database of this company.

Bye bye money.
Stay away from this company whatever it's name is.
I wrote them to ask about my missing $67 credit (mind you this was not a loyalty credit - but rather my hard earned money that I paid for a voucher on a company's service that was no longer in business) They wrote me back that they could do nothing about it. This is a complete scam and I want my money back!
I was first a customer of dealfind and team buy and now Ncrowd. I have had difficulty with the vouchers that I purchased and asked for a refund to my credit card as I already had 28.00 in store credit and then when I tried to use my last voucher they would not accept so I had to pay cash. I asked for the reimbursement of 48.00 and I get this response.

I am so done with rip offs and scams where the customer loses their money every time and receives no service. At least Groupon and Wagjag are upstanding businesses and will reimburse the customer no matter what!
The nCrowd sites are still alive with sale items but apparently they do not exist at all. When I used the *******@nCrowd.ca link I ended up with confusing answers from Michael from BoomStreet stating BoomStreet only bought the names and database from nCrowd, and not responsible for all previous nCrowd's vouchers or merchandise sold. Lord, I just have to cut my losses as my next inquiry may end up being replied by the Martians. When I clicked on the BBB logo to check BoomStreet's credit standing, it is identical to nCrowd's and even displays the name as nCrowd Inc., go figure! Of course, same location, same telephone number and probably same person replying all the complaint emails.
This so called credit card processor almost put our company out of business. They failed to put through over $60 thousand dollars of our approved customer receipts. BEWARE!
Your company is scam! I will report it to police
I am a business owner, this is the email i received:

They owe me(Unearth the Power) money! I have no rep to speak with. They do not answer phone calls or emails! I will no longer accept their stuff!
NCrowd has foreclosed according to the source below. NCrowd currently doesn't sell any goods or services. I would recommend that you request ASAP chargebacks from your credit card company for all nCrowd vouchers that can't be redeemed and for unused store credit (which is now useless). The fraudulent people who own nCrowd has now rebranded and launched a site called www.boomstreet.com. I would avoid doing business at all costs with Boomstreet if I were you.

I bought a voucher for mopping madness, they won't honour the voucher but boomstreet as they are now called refuse to refund, insist take a credit. Problem is two weeks later they're still selling the same three offers from this company and as no one would realise the issue within ONE DAY boomstreet keep the money again. Boomstreet state that they only refund if the request is made within One day!
Surely this us bordering on illegal or fraudulent activities.
Do not use this company try living social or Groupon instead as they seem to work well.
I made 2 purchases From Ncrowd now "Boom Boom Street" I was informed item was out of stock for 1st purchase and second purchase I was sent a tracking # for on 9/2/15 a week ago I was told they contacted shipping department and my item had shipped. I emailed yesterday to advise tracking still not available so obviously item didn't ship, offered credit for second time. I don't want store credit because I don't think I'll ever receive items if ordering from this site. This is unacceptable and I will be contacting bank and the BBB.
Answer: They are still in scamming business - yes - they sell, but do not ship anything! Do not buy
Answer: No bankrupt. Just name change scam. They do this just about every year when they screw people... they just change their name. We are working on looking into getting them involved in the Federal Trade Commission here in the United States. What have you got over there? Some sort of government organisation?
Answer: Contact the Retail Ombudsman. This is a new service and you can lodge your complaint with them online. If you paid for your items by credit card you should be able to claim the monies back via your card provider. Hope this helps.
Answer: As others have suggested here, ask your credit card company for a chargeback as soon as possible. Explain to your cc company that nCrowd is now in foreclosure and isn't selling any more goods or services. Therefore, any unused store credit or vouchers are now useless. I wouldn't bother to wait for nCrowd to resume selling deals again. You could also send your cc company the information about the foreclosure (see the link below) to support your claim. Also, your cc company will likely request proof (e.g., emails with the merchants or the names of the merchants you have spoken to on the phone) that the merchants were unwilling to honor the vouchers. I was able to get a chargeback by doing the above. Perhaps you could ask PayPal for assistance if you used it to purchase the nCrowd deal. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/ncrowd-forecloses-leaves-trail-bad-taste-albert-s-bitton
Answer: Did you use a credit card to purchase?
Answer: Hi, My name is Carl and I'm a manager with nCrowd. I'm so sorry for the trouble you've experienced with your recent purchase. Please email me at [email protected] with as many details as you can provide about your purchase so I may look into the matter further. Thank you!
Answer: When I got the shaft from this company, I complained to the Better Business Bureau, and asked my state's Attorney General for help. Then nCrowd responded quickly.
Answer: Dear Kath, NCrowd went bankrupt and were taken over (or renamed themselves) BoomStreet. Boomstreet said they would send me a refund but never did. I and a number of others posted warnings on SiteJabber about BoomStreet but these were removed due to "lack of evidence". Now BoomStreet has gone bust after taking more money from people - see BoomStreet.co.uk. This means that small creditors are at the back of the que, don't hold your breath! I would discuss this with your credit card company, that's your best hope. Best Regards, David
Answer: I wish I could tell you, all I know is do not accept a credit to their site. Maybe complain to your credit card company regarding their fraud?
Answer: They are Boomstreet now. Filed bankruptcy and changed their name. That way, they can keep all of the money they have collected from buyers and not send the merchandise. Merchants that do send merchandise on behalf of newly named Boomstreet WILL NOT GET PAID. I recommend finding Boomstreet online and sending them relentless emails demanding your money back. Don't let them keep your hard earned money! Feel free to answer back with updates. Good luck!
