Eastern Mediterranean cruise from Athens to Turkey, Greece,Israel and Cyprus starting on June 25,2023 on the Norwegian Jade. NCL made the plane reservations for us with Lufthansa. The plane from New York to Munich was delayed so ground operations decided to have 50 passengers go to their connecting flights and we didn't get the luggage until 6 days later. NCL offers Kosher meal options which we used before and was great. They changed vendors and the food was horrible. When I complained they offered my family of six a total credit of $200 on a future cruise without promising that they have a plan to make it better. That's $200 on next cruise when we were without clothes for 6 days and we were hungry for seven. Never Again

Buyer Beware

Norwegian does a terrible job of communicating anything that will actually happen to you. Their "air deal" sounds good until they book your flights. We went with another couple and booked our cruises 3 mins apart with the same person and linked our accounts. Norwegian booked us separate flights and didn't even book you seats next to your spouse. They nickel and dime you for anything and everything you do. You can't see the schedule for the week so it makes it really hard to plan things. Their app is terrible compared to Carnival or Royal. You can't see the menu for food options during the week which again made it hard to pick what night you want to do speciality dining. The spa on Bliss sounds amazing until you get there and they don't enforce the rules of that area being a quiet area. It was extremely loud and people screaming all the time. A lot of teenagers on our cruise too and Norwegian was allowing them to drink. They hardly swipe your card with the drink package so those that like to drink is I guess why you choose Norwegian.just beware you still pay tax on your drinks during certain parts of the trip.

Their wait staff, just like the other cruise lines was top notch and a joy to speak with and get to know, but other than that I unfortunately don't have much positive to say about Norwegian. Their food is worse than Golden Carrol.

No longer family friendly

We booked a cruise to Hawaii for November, 4 ppl 2 rooms. I discovered after booking that the line has removed family friendly entertainment. Removed all kid activities too but made it LGBTQ+ friendly. A party ship. Today I will be canceling our trip. If I spend $12K it's going to be a trip the whole family can/will enjoy.

Terrible Experience

I have traveled on many cruise lines, and thought I was paying for a great experience. I sailed on the Norwegian Jade to the Greek Islands. I don't know whether the staff was generally disgruntled, but they obviously hated their jobs and treated the passengers terribly. I am talking about the bartenders, wait staff, guest services, sales people. The only ones smiling were on stage giving performances. Questions resulted in eye rolls, sighs, and rude responses. Its amazing how the staffs general demeanor can so directly affect the customers cruise experience.

The performances were good- good entertainment.

The shore excursion options were small and terrible. They offered a $50 credit, but for most stops we could not find an excursion that was at all interesting. That department needs to do a lot of work to beef up their options!

Anyway- requested a refund of service charges, and although they were not nice, they approved it and had me sign a form. I took cash out and generously tipped the staff members who had been nice and friendly. Anyway- refund never came and now NCL is saying they will not do the refund. Infuriating!

Unfortunately my recommendation is not to ever do business with them again. Good thing there are amazing competitors in the market!

Customer Service

The customer service is horrific to say the least. We have made more than a dozen phone calls for different reasons, and every one of the service people had no clew what they were doing or talking about. They even told me that my husband has a hotel room in London but I didn't, which makes zero sense. Told me there was nothing they could or would do to help. NCL is the ones who made all the arrangements for us. Their error, not mine. I haven't gone on the cruise yet, but I know I'll never ever book them again or recommend them to anyone.

No more NCL for me!

NCL is clearly cutting costs. Like other reviewers, customer service was not good. There were no experienced workers and they all seemed overworked. From onboarding to disembarking, their process for moving people was silly. Food was not good, two in our party got food poisoning. Reservations for on-the-boat activities were all taken before we set sail. We spent only three hours in two of four port stops and spent way too much time on the boat. I do not recommend.

NCL very bad customer service
June 21, 2023

I booked a cruise for my daughter birthday, it costed me a few dollars for $10,000.
We paid for the airline flights, and the ride to the ship and back from the Ship to the airport.
The NCL cruise lines booked our entire cruise, including airfare, along with pick up from airport to ship and back to the airport.
The person who booked our cruise messed up and only have a flight for my wife and somehow me and my daughter is not included, but we're on the ride from airport to ship and back to airport once we docked.
We call in to try and have them fix it and they told us, yes she made a mistake, but you and your daughter may have to find your own way to the ship. We asked for our money back, because the mistake wasn't on us but you all, they replied, since we didn't have insurance, we couldn't get our money back.
So now we paid every dime of the money, and for two weeks been getting the runaround!
Please listen, they talk sweet before they get your money, but as for us, this is our last cruise with this cruise line!

Interactive TV is the best I've been associated (NCL's Getaway & Bliss)(A+). Relaxed dress saves us half of suitcase filled with formal wear.(A) If you have to wear a dress coat it is not a vacation. NCL took the closets out of the hall way, where there already a bathroom door and an your room door (b+). Now you can operate your safe while sitting on the bed (A+). Private Island could take some lessons from MSC which has shuttle service around the entire island and staff that lives on the island (C-). Guest Services on the Getaway was a joke. Line 20 and 30 people deep with NCL personnel roaming and asking what the problem was only to say you need to talk to a guest service employee (D-). I used NCLs air transportation twice and I could not match their prices looking on line. (B+) Pay for restaurants were very good and 3 of them came with my cruise package. (A). Boarding and getting off were fast but busses to carry passengers to the airport were not available (Lisbon) (B-). Room service was good as far as cleaning bur don't order room service for drinks or food unless you have a big pocket book (B-). Overall it was a fun trip, just some areas appeared to be understaffed. Alan & Sylvia Hamre

Terrible experience

We made the huge mistake of booking cruise/flight/insurance with Norwegian for a two week South American cruise. The day before, we flew from Denver to Dallas. There we were to fly overnight to catch ship in Buenos Aires. Flew to DFW and then two times we boarded the plane for Argentina and both times were taken off. Finally told plane would not go that night. That meant we could not catch the ship before it sailed. Argentinian passengers assured us we could fly the next day and catch a ferry in the morning to Uruguay - the first port. The next day - again American Airlines put us on the plane and took us back off! Now it was impossible to make it to Uruguay in time. After advice from an American agent -we had to give up and fly back to Denver - missing our cruise and our family Christmas - as they were not on our flight and they made the cruise.
Now - 6 months later - we are still fighting with Aon insurance (Norwegian's insurance) as they refuse to honor our insurance and have offered us $500 each on a $10,000 cruise. Reason - we started the trip so it is a simple trip cancelation. Since we flew to DFW - our insurance is now worthless! Lucky folks who lived in Texas and drove to DFW - as I would assume they got their money back. How were we so stupid to leave Denver when we couldn't get to Buenos Aires? Where was our crystal ball?

It started with the misrepresenting, I was not told booking a state room would not allow me to get all the amenities advertised. On the cruise it was worse the toilet where clogged in my cabin and other cabins also compliant. I also had problems with my excursions. Sorry to say i will never cruise with ncl again!

Underwhelming

Food was sub par at best. Even their speaclity reastauurants nothing special. Main dinning room and buffet just gross. Service staff was rude most of the time. They attempted to make it right I had softened some then the last day came and our pictures along with many others were not delivered delaying our ability to get off the ship. We've cruised lots of times and lots of other lines this one has by far been the worst. Never again!

They misrepresent their cruise "packages"

When initialing booking my cruise, Norwegian presented the option of bundled pricing including the flights. I was hesitant about allowing them to handle this detail. The agent assured me that alterations and upgrades were possible. However, their policy is that specific requests for flights need to be made 110 days out from the trip, but they don't book the travel until 80 days out. The flights they booked were suboptimal at best. We made do with them and upgraded the seats. Now three days out from the cruise the airline has deleted the upgrade and stated it was Norwegian blocking the change. How is it any concern of theirs if I am willing to pay the airline to upgrade my seats? I will never cruise with them again and I have taken two prior trips in the Haven class. They just lost a ton of future revenue.

Poor customer service. My husband and I each had credits of $460.20 on our accounts for a future cruise. I tried to book a cruise for me and my 3 children, and tried to use my husband's credit toward one of our children, and they wouldn't let us. But even worse, when I booked the cruise, they only gave me $299 of the $460.20 credit for me. I decided to cancel, and never cruise with them again.

A friend and I were sexually harassed by male crew memebers on a NCL ship. When this was shared to the cruise line, they told us this was our fault and that all their staff is professional. After further exploration I can see that this was not nor will it be their first report of this nature. Especially when they do not take these allegations seriously.

We purchased the $6000 9 day Greek Isle Cruise that sets sale from Athens on 7/12 with a journey to Istanbul, Greek Islands and Italy. We solely chose this cruise based on the itinerary that included a day and a half in Istanbul, with the understanding we'd have to be flexible with any changes. However, we were expecting reasonable changes. This feels like a "bait and switch" now that we are past the date of being eligible for a full refund. The itinerary changes are egregious as NCL not only reduced our time on land by a total of 15.5 hours, but shortened several land days to span from port arrival times beginning at 6 a.m/7 a.m. to departure times from respective ports at 2 p.m. What land activities, shops or restaurants will be open at 6 am? Couple the fact that guests need to be on the ship 2 hours before departure we'll be lucky if we make it two blocks from port before we have to turn around by 11 am to be in line by 12 noon. The explanation of "unforseen circumstances due to required ship maintenance," leaves me feeling that I was oversold and under-delivered before even setting sail. I understand that ships require maintenance but isn't maintenance a standard operating procedure that NCL builds into the advertised itinerary? Why does this have to become the burden of the guest at the cost of $6,000 in my case.

I escalated an email to the CEO and VP Guest Services, Katty Byrd. Seeing the amount of complaints on the review boards, I expect it will go unanswered as their standard response is "Sorry." For taking my $6,000 I expect a better response AND I would expect them to offer a refund in such scenarios where the modifications to the itinerary are this drastic.

I with I had read these reviews beforehand. We purchased 3 cabins on a recent cruise to Greece. NCL changed our flights home while we were on the cruise. When we got to the airport we found that our final destination was set to Chile instead of Utah. We spent 8 hours at the airport with NCL's Flight Dept. They couldn't get us home until the next day so told us to get a hotel and they would reimburse us. WE DID EXACTLY AS NCL TOLD US TO DO. We are home now and cannot get any help with the reimbursement they told us they would give us for the hotel. They make you email them and wait up to 15 days for a response. The email they send back denying the reimbursement is a form letter that has nothing to do with what we are talking about. You get no customer service over the phone and CANNOT get hold of a manager or anyone over the phone. IF YOU CRUISE WITH NCL AND HAVE ANY PROBLEMS--EVEN PROBLEMS NCL CAUSES--YOU WILL BE STUCK WITH THE COST AND GET 0 HELP.

I recently booked a European cruise with them and spent $22,000, nothing short of inexpensive. I spoke with a representative on the phone and told them I was booking 3 separate reservations with flights. The person I spoke with never let me know that this would lead to my family not flying together. 1 month after booking I received my flight information and noticed I was flying with my husband and my parents were on a separate flight, I was okay with this. However, they put my mother-in-law and my father-in-law (who suffers from seizures) on completely separate flights. I received the air confirmation 53 days before my travel date. When I called to just get my mother-in-law and father-in-law issues fixed...I spent 3 hours on the phone with 5 different representatives, none who could solve the issue. I let them know that I wanted to cancel my trip and I was told I was only going to receive 25% of what I paid... they gave me NO room to cancel or get new flights of how late they sent my air confirmation. On top of that NOWHERE in their confirmation does it say that booking separate reservations will lead to separate flights. PEOPLE STAY AWAY, THEY ARE SCAMMERS! My family and I will be taking legal action against them since the air information is only found on their website if you google it. They do not let you know of it. They are scamming people left and right and this is obviously not okay. DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH THEM.
