Worst Cruise Line, ever!
September 23, 2023

Mediocre food at best, poor service. Beware! NCL incompetence and disinterest in their own errors caused me to pay out hundreds of dollars due to their own screwups. They have "Guest Experience Coordinators" whose main job is to bamboozle and scam you out of your money. Stay away from this cruise line no matter how "good" the deal seems!

Shameful business conduct
September 22, 2023

Wow, what terrible customer service. I booked a cruise and paid a $250 deposit. The website saved my card info to charge the remaining balance when it was due (Sept 9th- I even put it in my calendar because I was leaving town the day before).

A few days before the remaining balance was to be charged/the cruise would become non-refundable, I reached back out to my cruise consultant and left a voicemail asking her to call me to answer some questions but never received a call back.

A week and a half later they sent me an email that the cruise was cancelled due to non-payment. What? So I called to offer the payment and explained that the website said it would automatically be charged, and their response?... They said I would have to "prove it" and they won't reinstate my cruise nor give me the $250 back. What? They would rather steal $250 and lose a customer rather than just sell me the cruise that I was trying to purchase from them. What a disgusting and shameful way of conducting business and treating their customers.

Shady business practices
September 21, 2023

We were onboard the Bliss in July 2023 to Alaska. On one of our stops, we checked the NCL app to confirm our departure time the last day of the cruise. We were shocked that the time had changed from 8am to noon, so we quickly changed our flights on Southwest because we had bad coverage and used the cell service we had. We paid over $1200 in change fees. We then get back on the ship only to find out that the NCL app was having a glitch.

A ship staff member said they can't do anything and that we should connect with support after we dock. I have been trying for over two months. Support is awful and doesn't care. They claim they have the claim info for the first month, and then suddenly can't find anything about it the second month. Now I just received an email saying it is my fault for believing what was printed on the NCL app. Needless to say, I will never travel with NCL ever again. My sister-in-law has been on three cruises previous with them and she will no longer be using them. And their ship was so badly crowded and poorly designed. SAD.

Low morality
September 20, 2023

Everyone appears friendly and helpful as long as you swipe your card to pay. However, when tragedy strikes, everyone becomes silent, indifferent, and arrogant. This was my experience during a cruise aboard the Norwegian Viva in August 2023.

One evening, while attending a theater performance, the fire alarm went off due to technical problems, and the lounge was flooded with water (I hope it was just water): it was a nightmare! People were running, screaming, and slipping. I managed to find cover next to the stage with my wife and our five-year-old daughter, who was crying in terror. As we hurriedly made our way, the panic door closed, leaving us uncertain about what to do or where to go. No one provided information or guidance. Eventually, we escaped and ran into the main hall, drenched and terrified. Sadly, we received no assistance or help from anyone. We even risked slipping and being trampled upon with a small child in my arms, yet we received no apology! It was a complete silence surrounding this incident. It seems they want to keep it hushed!

I filed an official complaint on their website, and after 20 days, their response was rather simple: "We offer $50 in onboard credit per cabin for use in a future booking. Please get in touch with me again, providing the new booking number, so that I can apply the $50 credit."

Why should I book with a company that left me dissatisfied in the first place? This appears to be their moral standpoint! I strongly advise you to avoid this company!

Terrible website. It keeps freezing on you. I like making my reservation through online and avoiding calls by any means. But unable to complete and no way to go around it.

NCL has not revealed to me the 10% military discount off the total (2 passengers) cruise price or provided me a complete and accurate final accounting of my 10% discount, payments made and charges levied by NCL from my initial deposit through the last day of the 7 day cruise (8/21-8/28 2023). I debarked the Jewel on 8/28/2023 with a NCL statement indicating a $70.66 credit balance.
Subsequently (9/2/23) my credit card statement indicated I still owed NCL $86.26 without a reason for the $86.26 charge. Communicating with NCL is very difficult on-line, email and/or phone.
On a positive note: the land excursions, ship cabin housekeeping and
Food were good. The sailing, navigation & timing by the ship Captain was perfect and smooth ship movement was evident on deck nine (9). Balcony view is good and NCL maintenance checked and reassured the safety of balconies.

I had a severe allergic reaction, Anaphylaxis with significant airway swelling. It came to the sun of $4,800. There is NO phone telephone or chat service for insurance claims with the insurance purchased through NCL. There is no way to reach NCL to get the medical costs itemized except email. It's been 2 months with no response from either. In the meantime I have a huge bill that should be "easily resolved " when I purchased the insurance.

Our NCL trip was leaving 3 days after we made the final payment. Therefore we did not purchase insurance we were going to get on the cruise no matter what. We did use a travel agency which I will not name just yet, unfortunately the airline contacted us by email 3 hours prior to departure to let us know they canceled our flights. They had almost 20 something hours to still get us to our destination, but we're unable to do this. This meant we had no way to get to the ship. Now I know Airlines delay or change flight Etc but I did not know they could completely cancel 3 hours prior and not get you on another flight. Therefore over $6,000 just on the cruise is completely gone Norwegian will not credit or help us with another Cruise, my agent claims they have spoken to them I also have tried myself but with no luck. The money was saved by family which took a lot of hard work and saving and now the kid and grandkids will not be able to have that experience. Unfortunately without Norwegian Cruise Line offering some type of credit or a similar Cruise the children will not get this opportunity and unfortunately financially it would be many many years from now if that chance becomes available again. Therefore I am just saying please do not go with Norwegian Cruise Lines this has been a devastating blow to the family and it would be horrendous for this to happen to someone else. I am only hoping that my review can help someone avoid this. I will include photos unfortunately Norwegian will not send me the current email with the price of the cruise just the fact that I had a cruise set and I will send this along with this review. Thank you Lisa H

I booked a cruise and the airfare thru NCL and my connecting flight was cancelled due to No Crew on Delta. No flights on any airline could get us to the port on time to catch the ship, or to any of the ports. NCL said I was a no show (which I called that morning and they have it documented. They refuse to give me a credit for another cruise and I have zero airline vouchers because it was contracted thru NCL. So we they basically stole all of our money. My parents were on the ship waiting for us and our room was already taken for someone to upgrade before they even set sail. We have tried many times contacting them and we get no where!

No food worth eating on breakfast buffet. Hawaii cruise on Pride Of America will be our last dollar spent with this cheap cruise line. Restrooms poolside smelt like a zoo, waiter at bar couldn't wait to close up and told my friends this. Missed going to Maui due to fire, sorry to the locals who depend on tourists but the whole island didn't burn. I would have dropped some money (Love to support the little guy) but NCL didn't want to stop. Try another cruise line and let this company starved. Nothing to say nice about a cruise with zero ambiance. Not even an ice carving, just cold food.

Totally upset, I recently went on my first NCL cruise loved every minute of it decided to buy for certificates for a future cruises. I booked an Alaska cruise they changed my itinerary one of the stops being Skagway and glacier Bay glacier Bay the most important to me. They eliminated same with the Skagway. They will fully refund my money and I can rebook on the very next day on another ship with the itinerary having to pay more money. I understand schedules change but when my schedule went to another ship the very next day why am I penalized by paying more money more trouble canceling and re-booking with only a sorry totally upset

Embarrassing 'Customer Service' and Awful Foodd
August 22, 2023

I went on a 9 day Greek Isles & Southern Italy cruise with Norwegian and it was so bad that I left after day 3. The entire ship was between 78-82 degrees fahrenheit and my room was close to 80 which is not even close to being considered an expected/normal temp inside. I need to sleep in a room around 68-70 degrees.

The restaurants were all abysmal cafeteria like quality food with everything over cooked. The adults only pool & jacuzzis were continually filled with little kids.

There was non existent customer service on the ship and not one person helped resolve the climate issues. It was like being held a captive and after 2 nights I couldn't take it anymore.

In reading reviews online (unfortunately after already purchasing the cruise) there was a common theme about the staff being incompetent and not ever resolving any problems. It was exactly like dealing with outsourced phone reps in the Philippines and India when you're trying to get a cell phone bill fixed and they continually pass you off to different people and never solve the problem. Hardly any of their staff spoke understandable English. In short, no one cares and no one has any competency or power to solve problems. Total nightmare experience.

Customer No-service
August 22, 2023

I am in the same boat (no pun intended) as many. We have not sailed yet but the customer service is horrible. Nobody knows what is going on, they are in a hurry to get you off the phone, and are not helpful at all. AND we have not even sailed yet.

NCL made all the arrangements for us. I booked with them in November, 2022. Paid in full in March 2023 when I found our NCL travel rep quit in December and nobody had been assigned to us. Here we are in August, 2023 and STILL no travel rep though I have asked for one repeatedly. When it came time for them to book our airline tickets, they actually double booked us: one set of reservations were out of Columbus, OH, the other out of Charlotte, NC. Both reservations were on the same notice sent to us. We live in Ohio. When they fixed that, we got screwed as the new and final set leaves 10 minutes later out of Columbus but arrives in Anchorage, AL 4 hours later than the 'original' set of reservations and has a layover in Chicago which we avoid at all costs. I will NEVER, EVER have anybody but me make airline reservations for us again. Lesson learned.

Our land tour and cruise is two weeks off. I should be excited about it. I am not as I don't know what horrors await me. I have no hotel info, no assurances they will actually be at the airport to take us to the correct place, etc. Customer service has none of this info. Apparently, none of this is formulated until I complete the on-line check in. I completed this yesterday. My question is, why is this not finalized long before I complete the check in? Why can't customer service see this or are they just too lazy to look?

We cruised with NCL back in 2018. It was lovely. For that trip, we went through Cruises Only. I wish I had gone through them this time rather than with NCL directly. This experience is nasty. I will not book with NCL nor take a cruise with them ever again.

Norwegian booked our air travel for a European cruise. Airline kept us on the plane for 2 1/2 hours before totally cancelling the flight. Then refused to get us on another airline and told us to call the Norwegian. We did, they said they couldn't help us and it was our responsibility to get to the ship. It would have cost $6500 to book last minute so we missed the ship. Norwegian refused to do any refund or even credit for another cruise. It was a costly mistake we will not make again with them. This would have been our 4th cruise with Norwegian.

Lost Reservations
August 17, 2023

We had 3 seperate NCL cruises booked. I had to cancel one of them. After cancelling, a few days later, I went to the NCL Website to inquire about booking a shore excursion and found that all 3 cruises had been cancelled. Two of my cruises had been fully paid for. After 40 minutes on the phone with NCL and speaking with different customer service representatives and then a supervisor, we finally got it all worked out. The end result is the most crucial, but man, it was way too difficult and the attitudes coming across the phone lines! What happened?!? NCL was my go to Cruise Line (we've done several cruise lines including Disney, Princess, RCL, Disney and Celebrity). Heck, I'm even a Platinum Lattitudes member with NCL.

Told my wife, "I'm done with NCL". The nickel and dimed charges and gimmicky "all for free" promotions are not for me.

I just wanted to express the ire and disappointment with Norwegian Cruise Line and their flight reservations department.

My criuse is November 8th on the Epic. I called NCL air reservations department to coordinate with them as to what I need for my flight from palm springs ca to Rome italy. The rep refused to hear my needs, was demeaning, nasty and never ask how she could help come to a resolution. All I want is to get to Rome sometime in the daytime, not midnight, and maybe pay for an upgrade, depending on costs, and look at seat assignments.

I asked for a supervisor, who turned out to be as burnt out, mean, condescending, and negative as the initial Rep. She never heard my concerns and kept telling me I couldn't chose my airline. Not on my list! There was NO addressing of what i wanted. The consistent NCL retort was "you can book your own flight". Well that won't happen since I get one free airfare. So NCL's answer to everything was a round about, "catch 22" answer to inquiries that sees no resolutions for anyone.

My biggest gripe is the lack of listening the NCL staff exhibited in these interactions. They had no empathy, understanding or CARING for me as a NCL guest. They seemed mean spirited in their retorts and exhibited a total lack of concern for me, the NCL guest.

I recommend you try another cruise line and stay far away from Norwegian Cruise line! MJ Puckett

BEWARE!
July 21, 2023

Recently took a cruise to Europe through Norwegian dawn for our 20th wedding anniversary. Our contract stated 1 tender port!, and they provided six. But due to weather, they canceled three of the ports. They refused to give us any money back and gave us an onboard credit of $100. Basically right back into their pocket. Lotte de da, will never never never cruise with them again. I tell everyone to stay clear of them and go to any other cruise line.
