I usually use other services when I shop from US stores to ship my purchases to my country but since this time I wanted a cheaper alternative given that the monetary value of what I bought was low I decided to give MyUS.com a try even though they had a lot of bad reviews, and trust me people, I wish I've trusted the reviews. Not only they lie about the fact that they will only consider the real weight of your packages, they will also include hidden charges that they don't tell you about, before they charge your payment card. I consolidated 3 packages for shipping using their service and at the time they told me that it would cost me 37$ which was more than I ought to pay in my opinion but I let it slip, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that they have actually charged my card 43$, and when I contacted their support service, not only they lied to me, they tried to make me look like the bad guy and started threatening me with their warnings and whatnot as if I was ever going to use their service ever again. Trust me guys the supposed savings that you would gain from them are not worth it and I thank God that only shipped using their service packages that haven't cost me much. I've heard and read much worse stories from people who shipped products worth hundreds or thousands of dollars through them and ended up either paying much more than they ought to, or lost their packages altogether.

I am using myUs.com since several month now and have already a lot of shipments done with myus. That time was a bit tricky and i was in need of help from the customer service. Not recommend at all. Shipped 2 Items (Laptop and Keyboard plastic cover) from US to Colombia. First of all one Item was wrong. I got plastic flowers instead of my keyboard cover.
I had to pay 30% on top (250 USD) of the package for import and tax which makes it absolutely worthless shipping something. There was not enough transparency. They did marketing for supporting with custom for Colombia and declare what custom will be during shipping ordering process. I can't even ask to get back the Tax as the product was not purchased in Colombia! GREAT!

I have had nothing but trouble getting my goods delivered via MyUs. I would not recommend them to anyone - goods go missing and then they don't take responsibility for it. Would never use again.

I have been buying from overseas companies for around ten years, and have purchased hundreds of items, shipped from individual sellers, with very few problems.
Then I decided to try MyUS, and it was a disaster. It took months for me to get my items, each one seemed to have a problem that required 'more money to ship' items went missing, were poorly packaged (in one case an item arrived that had clearly been badly re-packaged, but the lid was missing - when I queried this with there service centre I was told it would cost me $7 to get a replacement (the item only cost about $10) and I had to contact the seller and do all the work despite having paid for insurance!
There are lots of good reviews on their site, but they have that streamlined, 'all sound the same' quality with them that makes me believe they are made up. My summary? MyUS is a money grabbing scam.

Answer: Micaela, it all depends on the rules in Peru. I'm a MyUS customer and one of the reasons I like their service is because they give me a discount on the shipping cost, each time. There's an option in your shipping settings where you can select 'label as gift', usually customs aren't charged on gift items. Maybe you should try that once. Works for me all the time.
