A NIGHTMARE
March 10, 2020

I am unable to log my business BAS and PAYG.
I Have registered for MY GOV and RAM. The system it just does not work. I have had to redo mygov id 3 times, and now i can not log in to the portal to log my PAYG, and do my staff superannuation. How can they remove the old system on 31st March? How can I pay my liabilities when the system is such a complete failure? I asked if i can come into the office and pay - told NO. I am small business and me and my partner have wasted weeks on this.

Where do I start!
Medicare card not accepted, was spelling my name incorrect when scanning it, although every piece of my identity in every gov dept had it spelt correctly.
Call support, they were just as bewildered. Tried manual entry, no luck until everything was typed in lowercase and it decided to accept it.
Drivers licence didn't scan... gave up... tried the next day and it worked first pop.
My place of work still cannot link me to their account via RAM, I've had 3 authorisation codes emailed to me and all give error message.
How do you roll this out when there are clearly so many issues. Total Sham!

What an appalling piece of excrement
March 1, 2020

I wish I could give this a zero rating. If you get a new phone (and who doesn't?) It locks your account and makes you create a new account, which sadly is impossible to do.The system requires the input of an sms code which is not being sent to me. I have spent over an hour on this so far with four separate calls to the help line with zero success.
What an appalling piece of excremental software. Was it designed by idiots?

MyGov website is impossible to log in to
February 14, 2020

I am not knocking the system. It isn't well written from the user side, but it is the access I have an issue with.
I created a MyGov account when I had a cell phone and no I don't, it keeps trying to send a code to a phone I no longer have.
I called their" Help line" The person I spoke to was not helpful, at all.
He said to get the system to send a code to my email address.
I did and when the code came through it did not work!
He then said to create a new account, which did not assist either, as soon as you try to link to the ATO the system it requests a code to be sent to a cell phone.
I am not prepared to waste my time going to a neighbour to use their phone to call them again.
If they could not assist me last time, common sense dictates that they will not be able to this time.
I have been looking for a postal address to write to them as they do not have any email contact listed.
It appears they do not have an email address for inquiries.
I will therefore not be able to do a tax return this year.

MyGov is Trash
February 9, 2020

MyGov is a complete and absolute joke. It is barely functional and totally obsolete despite the fact that it manages personal information and funds... Never have I been so frustrated with an online medium, terrible.

Australian Libs Strike Again
December 14, 2019

I understand the desire to reduce deficits, but privatising everything is not the answer. Been waiting for 6 hours for my MyGov to load my (already registered and utilised) current claim, to no avail. Let's look at the current state of affairs:

1) Digitalising claims for assistance makes sense in theory, but adding more and more red tape to even the simplest request for assistance is just dishonest. Add insult to injury by ensuring that no staff are culpable, or even required to help, and we have the current Libs on fire.

2) Privatising JSPs may save you money, but it's ultimately a rort. Eg my JSP forgets to call in month 2, and when I go back a few months later (for more CL runaround) I'm told 'I' disappeared from existence... I mean, really?!

3) Privatising Health and Disability services may have added a few jobs in low-income areas of Australia, but ultimately removed the responsibility of the government to give a $#*!. I mean seriously, the horror stories I've heard (working in disability myself) are disgusting. All It's citizens are the government of Australia's concern, and their responsibility. There are no exceptions.

4) Removal of Benefits may save a buck in the portfolios of our richest citizens, but in truth, the "trickle-down effect" is (well-documented) BS. Those poor Aussies relying on 1.5 - 2x base pay rate to get by, suffer on many fronts - mathematically; a person with a $20/hour normal rate who works 7hrs, 2 days a week gets the following (incl. 9.5% Super):
2 *******@Normal pay rate: $253.40
1 *******@Normal / 1 day@ 1.5 pay rate: $316.75
1 [email protected] / 1 *******@2x pay rate: $443.45

So a weekend worker makes an additional $190.05 in net pay per week... Do I need to tell you how much that can buy in an Aussie supermarket nowadays?!

In removing that bonus, the ALP has driven, (once again), our lowest earning Australians to below the poverty line... I mean come on! Whom benefits from that saving of just over $190 per 2 day staff member? Not the Aussie, the student, the new Mum, the close-to-retiree, the jobseeker, but the company. And yes, I get that that can make a difference to an Australian small business, and even reduce their trading hours, but seriously, that's an easy fix (Government assistance to Australian Small Business for weekend trading eg.)

5) Fear of the Future. Of course our miners and natural resources are incredibly important to us. They've supplied us with almost two hundred years of strong economic growth. But the world is running out of these resources as science and the everyman of Australia (ignoring the ignorant naysayers) knows it. We CAN choose to move our economy in new directions. Instead of rehashing the ALP benefactors' beliefs, we can try new approaches... How about offering free retraining to those in the mining industry? Retraining as technicians and engineers in the renewable energy sectors could allay some of the fears of these incredibly resourceful and resilient workers. It won't be an easy transferal for all, but do we want easy, or do we want to save the lives of our children with clean air?

TLDR: All in all, this app is the perfect assistant to terrible social policy that purely benefits only the richer among us. It's slow to do anything, unintuitive, difficult and frustrating. I know we all need to use it (if only to have even a chance at getting $#*! done), and it works, somewhat. And eventually. Just pls don't blame the DoCS staff for it's failures. The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the current government.

All about keeping money in government
November 21, 2019

I was told by a few Centrelink managers they would much rather save money than help Australian children and people in crisis and emergencies, the site is a disgrace and is another way to net your money in amongst everyone else's, it's time someone starts thinking about the actual people that create this country rather than the government taking advantage of us all that don't have a say. Cheers you disgraceful bunch of people start caring for people that pay for your living too instead of creating more ways to pay for your lunches, cats and defences we don't need. Start giving money back as Australia's suffering and your eating $5000 dinners. We don't need you running our country give the job to someone that worries about people it's what it's for.

Money grabbers
November 7, 2019

Got sent a letter right before the end of
Financial year. Asked me to pay back $2977. I was like WTF!. They told me I had to pay back everything I claimed when I was unemployed (I was entitled to the payments, hence being on their payment in the first place). Didn't clear it up with them straight away (because their app wouldn't load my payslips, to prove I was entitled to the payments). Went to do my tax return, and they took that amount away from me.
I've tried to upload my payslips to them over 10 times now, but it always fails to load.
I feel like I've been scammed.

Who in their right mind can actually think this crap is suitable, if you didn't know you have to remove a device before getting another phone you have to create a whole new account and go thru the excruciating link process, if you get a question wrong it deletes everything you have entered, Why the *******@ck is there no recovery process for the account, imagine an elderly person who is not technology savvy navigating this garbage, if you want a royal *******@cking commision this piece of sh@t is it!

The website is unbelievably bad - it will lead you in a circle - navigating to where you think you need to go and then take you back to the start without making any progress. Unquestionably the worst website on the internet. It is baffling how such a shockingly incompetent website can be created when people at home can create better websites using an app. It does not work and you can not get through on the phone and are forced to go to an office where they will direct you back to the website. Scandal.

What is the point of this hopeless site?
September 19, 2019

Repeated failures trying to get to (ATO in my case) site. WORSE than phoning and waiting on hold. Which is never that long, strangely. How hard can it be? There'll be a contracted IT provider paid squllions to have created this rubbish. Come the revolution...
