Don't go in their site! They tell you they have free trial. I went on the site to download one piece of sheet music to print off for my sister for Christmas. I can't read music or play the piano so I knew I didn't need or could not afford a 54. Subscription. I am on a fixed income. As soon as it charged I started trying to get in touch with them. They have no number and all emails just get and auto response. They actually offered me 25% of my money back and I never used it and requested it immediately. I assumed they accidentally charged me but reading other reviews I see that there are many reviews of the same thing happening. I never approved being charged. I know that 54. Is not a lot of money for some people but that is if I eat or not. They will come in behind this review and say they are there to help at customer service, but there isn't a customer service. It's just auto emails. I will remove my reviews if they will just be fair and give me my full refund. Please refund my money I beg you.

I strongly urge caution to anyone considering starting the free trial for MuseScore. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating. I signed up for the 7-day free trial, intending to explore the service, and I attempted to cancel before the trial ended. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, the subscription was not cancelled, and I was charged for a full year of Premium access.

What's worse is that MuseScore refused to issue a full refund, even though I did not take advantage of any of the Premium content. Their response to my refund request was dismissive, offering only a partial refund or additional subscription months as compensation – neither of which were acceptable solutions for me as someone who had no desire to use the service further.

This experience feels like a deliberate trap to lock users into a subscription, relying on unclear or difficult cancellation procedures to secure payments. It's a textbook example of poor customer service and unethical subscription practices.

If you're considering starting the free trial, be prepared for a battle to cancel or retrieve your money should anything go wrong. For a platform claiming to serve musicians and creators, they show little regard for their customers' trust or satisfaction.

Save yourself the hassle and frustration – look for alternatives that treat their users with fairness and respect.

Near impossible to get your money back. Have to use the "correct" cancellation form. Credit card credited me initially and then sided with merchant due to bla bla bla...and recharged my card. Wish I saw these reviews before I tried their "money back guarantee" in 7 days offer!

I wanted to try out a piece of sheet music and enrolled for a trial to be told when the sheet music turned out to be terrible, inadequate for instrument, that I'm not entitled to refund and was charged 80 pounds for this. Rude customer service and unprofessional.

They didn't give me a seven day trial as promised and they charged me immediately and wouldn't give me my money back and then they charged me $99 seven days later that I never agreed to and it they wrote me back never cared. I had to get a new credit card and go through all the hassle because they are scam artists and they steal. Do not ever even try because they will just keep taking your money and you will have to get a new credit card. They make it impossible to quit annd impossible to get a refund and I never even got one song from them. What scam artists!

I purchased a one year subscription only to find I still have to pay for every score I want to download or print.
Within 2 hours I requested a refund and they have ignored every email.
When I gave a poor review they suggested I contact them. On the same email address I had already been contacting.
They play the waiting game for my patience or my PayPal complaint to expire.
Don't fall for the same thing people. Read the thousands of poor reviews. I wish I had!

I agree with a number of other reviewers that this company's sales tactics are designed to be confusing. I wanted to get a free 7-day trial and thought that's what I was signing up for. There wasn't a page checkout page with the price clearly stated until after I checked out with PayPal and discovered I'd just paid $55 for something I don't want and can't use. I'm hoping their customer service dept. will refund the ridiculous fee. If they do, I will amend this review.

They've taken money out of my account I had no idea about. Their practices are scam like and misleading. Can't get someone to help me from the company. AVOID.

As many people have already reported going back months, MuseScore.com refuses to give refunds. They offer a 25% refund, but that's not the same as a 100% refund. The site advertises quality transcriptions. After signing up and downloading the transcription I wanted, I found out that the score was incomplete. When I asked for a refund, I was ignored. When I went through PayPal, they did answer, but only to offer me 25% of my $54.99. The MuseScore app is wonderful and I have been using it for years without problems. It is a shame that the sister website is run by grifters.

I unknowingly tried 1 week free trial & although I cancelled within 24 hours they still charge you the yearly fee even thought you cancelled in the allowed supposed weekly free trial timeframe. So just warning others that its not a free- trial but basically fraudulent charge as you are not authorizing it & they refuse to refund you.

BE CAREFUL. This website is very deceptive. So easy to click a button, think you're subscribing to 1 week trial and get the full annual cost charged. I contacted their Customer Support within 10 minutes of the accidental purchase (I even cancelled my subscription without using any of their music) and I was still refused a refund. What a joke! I used to buy individual scores through their website. Never again! I'll be reporting this company tomorrow and taking my money elsewhere to more honest merchants.

The process for signing up for a trial account is deceptive. The process for requesting a refund is a scam. You have been warned.

I tried the free trial. Very limited number of scores, to expensive. No option to cancel the subscription on the website even before the end of the free trial.
I tried to contact customer support and they are not helpful at all, they did not want to help me cancel the subscription before it renewed and only offered me options that it brings them more money.

I wanted a piece of music and the only way was to sign up on a subscription but it did not say in any terms that they would be charging my account $39.99. I never agreed to that before they charged me. It is very deceptive practices that they use. I immediately, withing 10 minutes, canceled with them and requested a full refund. After many emails of requesting my full money back, they are only offering a portion. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE DECEPTIVE FROM THE BEGINING. I will be talking with my credit card company to deny the charge.

This company refund methods are of authentic thieves. I signed in for a 7 day trial in musescore.com on june 21th to see ONE score i have curiosity about, i thought i have cancelled properly the trial (maybe some mistake doing it), June 28th to my surprise my CC was charged 69,99€. Same day i send a refund request to customer service, they replied offering only a parcial 35% refund or a extension of 10 months of the contract, i replied same day i was not interested and demanded a full refund. Till today, July 2nd there is no response by this company. They have an address in Cyprus, European Union in their website, so the should know that according to european law there in something called RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL of 14 days on every purchase made online. My demand is in compliance with EU law and they are simply ignoring my request, refusing to refund the payment made. I have no choice but going with my conselour and demand legal actions and fines against this company for failing to comply to european regulations (there is huge fines in the law). AVOID AT ALL COST PUTING YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS IN THEIR WEBSITE!

I am so happy I found MuseScore the piano sheet music is amazing from beginners to advance and you can download without any issues. MuseScore has a wide variety of sheet music for piano and they are so amazing. Thank you MuseScore!

I was honestly helped by Musescore with my refund request. This was with my subscription to a bi-annual pack, paid through credit cards.
The keys are to:
- Request them asap when you see the credit card is charged
- Request through both email & website refund page
- Check the credit card carefully to see if it blocks anything that may affect transaction process

Avoid these dishonest lowlifes. MuseScore are bait-and-switch thieves desperate to scam a few bucks at a time from people who had no intention of choosing a longer subscription. Same experience as others. They initiate a series of splash screens starting with taking the 7-day free trial and pepper you with upsell screens as you are simply trying to complete the registration. At the end of it all, charged $39.99 for a PRO+ subscription I never wanted. Despite canceling and contacting support within MINUTES of the transaction, they insist that I "was fully informed when I chose the subscription" and at most policy only allows 3/4 refund. To hell with them - this is what they get for their $10. Crap company. Dishonest and desperate just to hold onto $10.

UPDATE: It took two emails just to get the initial partial refund. One more email, a scathing response to their automated customer service feedback survey, and this online review finally got them to refund the remaining balance. They are still a 1-star company for cheating so many people, but if you've been cheated keep hammering until they do you justice and return your money.

Click the "Start Free Trial" button and it will trick you into signing up for a full subscription. Ask for a refund a few days later and they will only do a partial refund. The typesetting on many of their arrangements is poor. It's a company in Cypress. BEWARE--they are a shady company and will steal your money.

When clicking "start free trial, " you are funneled to a discount page with no explanation that you forego the free trial by accepting the discount. It's called a "dark pattern" in web design
