The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the efficiency and support of specific staff members during the leasing process, highlighting a seamless experience and quick move-in times. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding service delays, inadequate maintenance, and poor communication. Many customers reported unresolved issues, including mold and plumbing problems, alongside frustrations over application fees and lack of responsiveness from management. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the recurring complaints suggest a need for improved customer service and property management practices to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention.

I just read a review where they were given 1 star and the person was a single mother of 5 who was applying with the company using a housing voucher. Well I am a single mother of 3. I applied Jan 27th was approved by Febuary 2nd. Recived an email saying I passed background and credit. It's now March 20th and I've contacted the leasing agents many times to get an update. They tell me the same thing no additional documents are needed and someone will reach out in 24-48 hours. No one has called me other than the initial contact where I was told I was approved. They have no sense of urgency or care for people who are applying with a voucher. I've transfered my application 2x because the properties I wanted were taken by cash paying tenants or tenants not using a voucher. Although they state there is no discrimination it sure does look that way. When the only urgency is for those applying who are not using Housing vouchers
My leasing agent Amanda Carroll was to submit my request for inspection which was never done when she said it was and once it was done Feb 1st she emailed Feb 7th to cancel my application due to me not having an inspection scheduled in the 14 day period, I tired to reason with her to be patient and she refused since then I have had 2 additional inspections scheduled which to refused to go through as she advised she refunded my deposit, it is now March the 13th and still no deposit refunded they have been a total inconvenience, I wish I had never applied with this company, PLEASE BEWARE!
Garage door wouldn't open. My car was in the garage and I couldn't get it out. I missed work. Despite making the maintenance request, several emails, and several phone calls they couldn't get to me for 8 days. Cost me $450. For missing work and to pay someone to help me open it to get my car out. When he did come he was here 2 minutes and said they would have to schedule with an actual garage door company.
Avoid! We moved in Friday, no keys to the house, the front door code did not work, so thank goodness the window was open I sent my little one, get in there and try to clean and water leaks everywhere from the floor board and I do outside to get some things and it's leaking from the panels on the outside of the house, I mean pouring out… so I had my boyfriend cut the water off, and then Saturday we cut it back on and it flooded again, I'm having to go to my mom house with little ones 4, and 1 to take bathes because the house I paid rent on, we can't bathe in it… still keys to get in the house and they still have it listed for rent…. I plan on contacting an attorney because they say they do inspection but THEY OBVIOUSLY DO NOT! I'm so mad and disappointed because how do you live your tenants in house like this
We have been without heat all weekend with no response from Main Street Renewal. We pay $2000/month rent and get no assistance with sub freezing temperatures.

This is the MSR solution to them not wanting to fix our problem of no central air and heat to our upstairs. It needs a split unit which they were told by the tech who installed the current unit. They did not want to spend the money for the extra unit that would have provided the upstairs with what it needed. Instead, they gave us 2 portable units that have to be near an outlet and window. When the upstairs does not have adequate outlets, this is what we are left with. Not only is this a huge inconvenience, but the power is also surging when they are on. We had to unplug the one in our bathroom to possibly avoid a fire, but we cannot unplug the one in our bedroom because then we cannot use the upstairs because it is too hot without it! So, if the house burns down, not our fault! They do not seem to care either. Meanwhile, we are paying $1965 to live in this house that was advertised as a 4 bedroom 2 bath house. Now, they will say they need more information to look into this situation. Don't be fooled, they have all the proper information. They just refuse to do anything about it. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! STAY FAR AWAY!
So I am currently a tenant of Mainstreet they are not the best people to rent from. If you want anything done well you might as well forget it. My mom used to live with me and in September 2022 she passed away so I notified Mainstreet so they could remove her from the lease. Was told where to send her death certificate. In December i received the offer to renew with her name attached tried telling them again when i called i was asked tons of questions about her to the point i had to hang up bc my mother died a horrible death and the questions just made me relive it. Anyways i resent the death certificate to where requested. January comes and the new lease shows up and theres her name so i call no record of them receiving the death certificate. I have called, emailed and etc and currently im living in my home without a active lease. I spent a hour on the phone today and sent a email to the Jacksonville leasing office as requested to. This place is a joke and i am 5 seconds from getting a lawyer bc its been 4 months of battle over something that takes maybe 10 mins a someone with a mildly smart brain to fix.
Only giving one star because zero or negative stars isn't an option. This company is an absolute joke. Please listen to me and don't even consider renting from them. I could write a book longer than the entire Harry Potter series about how awful this experience has been. Again, please don't even consider renting from them.
They go in and help clean up homes in areas that most companies would stay out of. They do an outstanding job for what they are given to work with. Very happy.

This company is by far the absolute worst property management company I have ever had to deal with. From trying to get a tour of the property, the application process, the approval, the inspection & move in date; everything went horribly wrong. There was no fridge, the keyless pad code given does not & has not worked. There were and still are roaches everywhere. Small ones, called German roaches so there are nests in the walls. We still have yet to get a call or email back. This is not worth what we paid for deposit & first month's rent. The AC units don't have any control buttons. One won't turn on, the other stuck on 61 degrees. There is not one person responsible for the property so nobody is held accountable. They just keep creating maintenance tickets for things that do not get done..
DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY!
I would give zero stars if possible. This is by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any rental company or landlord situation in my life. I understand that sometimes it takes time to repair or replace things in a rental home, but communication is ZERO with these people and they DO NOT CARE about their tenants. Upon move-in on 2/1/23, our home was NOT move-in ready. Our refrigerator was broken, our dishwasher leaking, house not cable-ready and NO KEYS, only a crappy "smart lock" with half-dead batteries that only works every other time you use it. We immediately submitted maintenance requests, which turned out to be pointless, because it does not matter how many times you submit a request or call them, THEY DON'T CARE. They will give you some bunk response about how they're "Sorry for your experience" and they're "escalating this situation," or "sending an email to scheduling," and those are all lies. I'm sure they will respond with the same empty response to this review, because apparently they have the time to respond to reviews but not to schedule service technicians for the people who are paying them. I'm sure the poor people who answer the phones in the Philippines don't deserve my anger, but there is no direct line to contact someone who DOES deserve it. This place is despicable and we regret moving here without doing more research first.

If I could give no stars I would. Our experience in this house was very unpleasant and will be reflected in our online review.
Our experiences include but are not limited to the following:
• No Heat for more than a month- December 24,2022- January 26,2023-During THE winter weather event
• Unable to use the bathtub for most of the year because of a leak that ruined the living room ceiling
• Appliances that broke down as soon after we moved into the house, and instead of getting similar appliances we were given downgrades. Part of our decision to move in was the appliances
• Shifting floorboards that have not been braced under the floorboard
• Maintenance equipment sitting in the bathroom for over 3 months/ also never returned to paint walls, or ceilings where a leak ruined the living room ceiling
• Door lock issues-downgraded to key locks from smart locks
• Utility bills, that we were told repeatedly were not valid bills from the time we moved in until December 31,2022- when CSR Brizida found an actual bill and because of this MSR took part of our rent and paid the gas bill and then charged us late charges.
• We were told many times that someone was going to address the issues with our account. We waited and nothing ever came of the situation. We were told to expect the call and the calls would never come and then on top of that they claim the value of the house went up and now they have to raise the rent from 2195 to 2395 (w/ a 50.00 discount)
We decided not to renew and gave them our date to move out 2/28 which was way before the deadline they set. Now they are saying that we have ten days. We are speaking to a lawyer, who happens to be a friend, and he is going to look over everything.
I would advise that you never rent from this company, NEVER, it was a horrible experience. Home Owners, you have many options for a Property Management Company. Don't use this company.
I tried to take care of a lease renewal months before my lease was up. When an issue came up, they disappeared. No one will return my calls or emails. There is no local office to go too, either. It looks like I may have to get legal representation for something they dragged their feet on. Very dissatisfied.
First I want to say all the problem reviews they respond by telling you to email them with your name and information which is a email they don't respond to to begin with. The first day we moved in we had a lot of issues a lot of repairs that needed to be done that was hazardous or a fire risk we are on day 9 and none of it has been fixed. Most of the time you can't talk to anyone if you do they don't have any answers until you to email the only way to correspond is email. This is caused us a lot of time money and stress and they're not even willing to help us. I wish I would have done more research before moving in. If this helps one person not to go through the stress that I have then it was worth it. Please if you have other options don't use this one.
I moved out of the property back in November under their forgiveness program. Sent pics and email in regard to moving out. They are still charging me monthly rent after moving out on agreed date. The scam is to have you leave charge you for a property you are not in while someone new pays rent. I am contacting a attorney in regards to this issue.
We rented a house from Main Street Renewal in May of 2022 just before my husband was deployed in the military for nine months. I have called their Customer Service literally dozens of times telling them the "Portal" does not work for us! An on-line site where you are supposed to be able to pay rent on-line, submit a work order, or check our lease. It keeps saying we do not have a current lease on file or it errors out. So we have to call each month to take the time to explain the situation and give them our credit card verbally over the phone to someone in a foreign country! They always say they cannot fix the problem but will elevate it to Upper Mgt and have someone call.
THEY HAVEN'T CALLED OR FIXED IT IN 8 MONTHS!

Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
Answer: Indeed! Integrity n honor is of no value with MSR! Hopefully they will re-evaluate their company and greed will not control them! No one has a clue of each other in the business system they run!
