The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the efficiency and support of specific staff members during the leasing process, highlighting a seamless experience and quick move-in times. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding service delays, inadequate maintenance, and poor communication. Many customers reported unresolved issues, including mold and plumbing problems, alongside frustrations over application fees and lack of responsiveness from management. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the recurring complaints suggest a need for improved customer service and property management practices to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention.

I have been trying to get things worked out with main Street renewal since April and their third party company has denied me several times due to the fact that I received SSI and I cannot work a regular job I have HUD housing and they promise that they accept that but they only accept it if your income meets their requirements and if you have perfect credit. They do this a lot so they can collect as many application fees as possible per house they are a big scam stay away! Especially if you are HUD housing or disabled they are not for you. There is no local office that you can talk to about your application everything is from somewhere else they are all foreign they are all extremely hard to understand and it is just an extremely frustrating process. Also all of your personal information is going through several hands and you have no way of knowing that it's actually protected.
There is no option to give minus stars. I live in one of MSR homes and I haven't had air for three weeks now going on four weeks. I have two small children and a newborn baby. I have texted I have emailed I have called. Nobody has come by to even check the issue. Its hotter in the house then outside. I requested relocation and was denied. Was given the dates for completion of repairs that haven't even started of the 19th.Then today I was told because I keep called emailing and texting about the issue it was pushed out till the 24th.Rent is paid in full every month.
I applied and paid fee - late at night after hours BY morning I was denied but they wont give me a reason.
I am really disappointed in Mainstreet to be completely honest. I've lived in a home for over two years and then the house was sold to them. I tried to renew my lease and I was denied. I tried to seek more info on why I was denied but never got a clear answer. I was forced out of my home with my two kids. This company has also brought several other homes in that same neighborhood and most my neighbors were forced to leave their home due to being denied or the rent going up ridiculously. They came into low income neighborhoods and price the houses up. I wish you guys did more research on the neighborhoods you move into.
Had an issue with the sink and they sent a guy named Joe DeAlcuaz. He was very nice and personable. He communicated with me the entire time while working on the issue and did a great job fixing it.

They have no concern at all for their tenants. We have been without air for over a week now and I keep getting the runaround. After 5 days maintenance finally showed up but could not fix the ac. Told me that he was going to open an urgent ticket and we should hear from the vendor soon. Today texted not called cause you can't get anyone on the phone they told me the ticket was canceled. WHAT? So now we have to start the process all over again. I have my elderly mother-in-law staying with us right now and she has heart conditions which I told them and they just brushed it off like it was nothing. They just want the ridiculous rent money they charge. Worst rental company we have ever had to deal with by far.
Have sent many emails to these people for months and not a single person has returned a simple email. Something goes out you will be without for over a month. Then they will raise your rent over $200 after less than 1 year leasing from them.
Property infested with mold. They put air fresheners all of and jack up the ac to try and mask smell.
Went up to the attic and saw mold all over ac unit in and out. Mold under 3 layers of flooring in laundry room.
My dad previously started a rental agreement with Mainstreet Renewal and it has been issues from the start! He was told that the home would come with a stove and refrigerator but when he moved in, both were missing. It took 2 weeks to get the refrigerator and a little over a month to get the stove!
Now the spring broke on the garage and the door is jammed. He put in a maintenance request on 3/30 and it is still not fixed today! They sent the maintenance guy out to take pics and say "I cant fix this" and leave. An actual garage door repair guy was sent out on 4/13, he looked at it and instantly said the entire garage door/springs/motor/ etc needs to be replaced. My dad checked on his maintenance request today (4/17) and they have marked the maintenance request as complete! How when he still can not access his garage! It was hell for him to even try to get his vehicle out of the garage to begin with! I repeat...DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! They do not care about you or the home they put you in!
They want your username and password to your bank so that they can setup direct debit. When I refused and asked to give them the routing and account number as you normally would they said they needed a manager and never called me back. They ended up just giving the house to someone else who apparently would hand over access to their life savings to their landlord. Remember if you give someone access to your account like that you are violating your bank's usage policy.
I'll begin with this is my first time ever leaving a review for a company. I wish I could leave 0 stars. I fell in love with one of their homes after paying to tour it on March 26th. After that day I called into their office, every single day, for two weeks. In that two weeks I spoke to several representatives who would "attempt to connect me with a leasing agent". I called every single day and made sure the representative made a note on my account that I had called as my agreement had already been "accepted". The calls would never go through. Must be on lunch. They gave me an email address and assured I would recieve a response in "24-48 hours". No response. I called every day for two weeks with no response. Finally after giving up hope I spoke with an agent. My application was accepted now I need to pay. I called repeatedly again to secure my payment to no response (typical). Finally after two days of calling, texting and emailing I get a text back from someone in the company saying the house is taken. I cannot recall the last time I have been this frustrated. This was absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed. I cannot imagine what it would be like to rent from this company. I wasted precious time and energy to secure a home for my family just to be ignored.

This company posted a fraudulent charge of $50 to our Green Dot card. No refund yet. Don't do business with them. They will not refund the money
DO NOT APPLY TO RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! First off they do a hard credit check. So be prepared to loose as much as 20 points off your credit. Also I applied for a house they posted at 1,400. I passed the application. Then they raised the price to 1,600. Then they removed the listing and said someone had a move-in date for it. Now it is listed on their website once again at 1,600. I believe they are doing some very unethical business. If you look through the reviews you will find similar and recent stories like mines. Save your money, your time, and your credit. DO NOT APPLY WITH THEM!

Ok let me start by saying Main Street renewal should be ashamed of they self because I just move in my house and the house smells like dogs have been living here for years. The way this house smells would make a person that have somewhere else to go leave and say they want they money back, And if I did I would. Can't really tell if the smell is in the walls or in the carpet. Then first day in here I wake up out myself to find my toilet have been running now my halfway floor and closet close to it is soak and wet.

Update from my last post just a few days ago. Mainstreet renewable is a scam.
They are investment company who just buy up properties but, refuse to fix anything with their properties.
I have talked too several different people from Mainstreet in the last 3 day with no action.
Once I write this post someone else is going to reach out to me from their complaint department and literally take my complaint down make empty promises and no actual work happens.
My family and I have been living with bees since July 2022 and a no light at all down in our basement that we use as a room.We have recently had a baby and now it is a health risk for having our baby in the same room as bees are flying around in the room. I have talked to so many people from Mainstreet Renewable Charloote begging to have this work completed just to be told empty promises and no action behind. I will NEVER rent through them ever again, I previously rented through in Kentucky and their response time to maintenace issue was night and day. This company is the biggest joke I have ever seen in a such a huge company. If you are lucky you might be able to get in touch with their INVISBLE Area Manager but, do not hold your breath you will talk to 15 different people and they will never rely the message to the Area Manager.
IF YOU LOOKING FOR A RESPECTFUL LEASING COMPANY DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND FRUSTRATION! IF I COULD GIVE THIS REVIEW A ZERO A WOULD, THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DO BUSINESS AND MAINTENCE OF THEIR PROPERTIES AT ALL.

Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
Answer: Indeed! Integrity n honor is of no value with MSR! Hopefully they will re-evaluate their company and greed will not control them! No one has a clue of each other in the business system they run!
